RAINBOW SIX THREAD REVIVE

RAINBOW SIX THREAD REVIVE
lord chanka is a reddit meme.

blackbeard nerf was overkill, chankas buff didn't fix anything and he remains on the bench with IQ and capitao.

oh and dank memes of course

nah fuck off. This shit is only slightly better than the vegas series which is irredeemably shit. Play rainbow six 1 and 2 you nigger.

i will accept that siege is not real rainbow, but its the only decent tacticool shooter on the market with people playing i, and the best destruction effects on the market hands down. the downside is ubisoft owns it

Bartlett? More like Fartlett, that map fucking sucks ass and it's the only one matchmaking seems willing to put me in. That upstairs/downstairs library room counting both floors for the biohazard container is stupid as shit and results in retarded stalemates. Most of the rooms have shit for interesting cover too so everyone has to just sit in open corners.

I thought it was interesting to see a map place the objective in large multi-level spaces

I would think it interesting were that room not half okay defensive spots and half massive open air deathtrap and the deathtrap was the only way to get from one floor to the other without running to the other side of the map.

are people here actually playing it or are we just here for the memes ?

I was playing just last night, was sick as shit and could barely focus on anything yet still performed better than the mouthbreathers "matchmaking" stuck me with. Highlights included:
also same match but different round and teammate

So what DLC op should I get next? I have echo and caveira. I kinda want frost but I feel I have too many defenders as is. I don't really want capitao or blackbeard, so that leaves buck, habanero, and frost. What do you guys think?

habanero is great for making kill holes by shooting some charges at the top of a reinforced walls while having the high ground yourself

if you want an attacker i would go with buck or hibana, buck is just 100% solid, good guns, good gadget, flashes and frags, and you don't cripple your team if you roam or die early

hibana is just really fucking fun, type 89 is great and you can get creative with her gadget, and her gadget is the only one where you can place all 3 before detonating

blackbeard still has strong guns but his nerf sent his gadget to hell, and capitao was DOA

Public notice
The group of around 3 players who play activly from these threads are fucking trash. Boosted them up to platinum only for them to get curb stomped back down to gold trash where they belong.

i haven't played with anyone from here yet in fear of fucking embarrassing myself like that

TELL ME ABOUT SLEDGE

fuck.

Don't buy this game, it's shit.

FUCK WHY?

Call is a fucking siege thread you asshole.

So many fucking Fuze noobs too :^(

what universe is this

lol

It is funny though, I don't think I've played a multiplayer game with as many Holla Forums-tier people as siege. Even when I'm not playing with anons. Why is that?

They're talking about Jäger mains

Are you unaware how revived and popularized the right-wing has become because a year or two a political shift is coming, it's only a matter of time. Or that the game finds a sweet spot in using your brain and not too tactical where it's robotic and straight-forward and being shit, the small player-size in lobbies plus the non-linearity of the maps makes up for mind games and info warfare, going down to what type of person your opponent is and what character he uses.

I thought Holla Forums was smarter than this.

...

this game doesn't need character lore but i like that hibana and thermite are friends

So jewbisoft makes a good game for once in their fucking lives and you're not supposed to buy it? How would this convince them to make good games instead of yearly release shovelware instead?

really? Where does that happen? I only ever hear dialogue during terrorist hunt, and never heard that.

it's because they both break reinforced walls.

her bio also reads that she spent time working with FBI swat and jewbisofts r6 facebook posted stuff like that picture where thermite and hibana are in frame together

Vote with your wallet. How else is Ubisoft supposed to learn if you dont buy their good games while avoiding their bad ones?

Can someone post the operator personality chart?

Not sure which one you're talking about so here.

Frost is an Inuit you dumbfucks her skin is too dark and her eyes are too wide to be a Chink.

A universe where someone else on the team picks mute so the attackers are fucked if they don't have sledge.

Caviera has a better butt than IQ.

...

I love this game sometimes

The player names are pretty damn good at times.

How would you buff IQ so that she's worth a damn? Also I'm not a waifufag I swear, I just like the AUG and don't wanna play recruit

Why is being a Hitler clone negative? Also you forgot to mention that pulse probably lives off of wintergreen Copenhagen and jerky.

Man up and play recruit, at least you will be more useful with breaching charges than with IQ's gadget. Also you get a granade for free.

Bio mentions she worked with the FBI. Considering her special is essentially a scaled-down version of Thermite's stuff, it's not unreasonable to assume they worked together.

Anyone know how to (in the imput sense-I've already got the file) edit the config? My mouse sensitivity seems really, really low even at 100 and web searches are giving me nothing. Can't seem to work out what the problem is at all.

You can detect the flying drone and cameras and if you're good you can detect Pulse and beat him at his own game. It's only useless if you don't use it right.

Even if you use it right it's still pretty shit, the average IQ experience is shooting Pulse in the head through a barricade, shooting two mute jammers and then stepping on a frost trap.

But that's just your fault then mate.

I'm not denying that out of the several gadgets hers is one of the most low tier / least useful ones, but it's one that's completely optional and doesn't hinder or accidentally kill your allies.
I occasionally use her for her speed and weapons and they're usually good matches. I don't run around with her gadget looking for things to use it on, I usually don't use it unless there happens to be a situation where it's useful, and that works out fine.
It's just a bonus to her that you don't have to use if you don't need it.

What I mean is, playing as her and not using the gadget doesn't mean you're wasting her, it's not like Thermite, Thatcher, Hibana, Ash etc. where not using their shit seems like a waste cause they're more essential and it feels like it's your job to use them.
Because of that I don't see it as much of a problem that her gadget only does what it does and I never get why people think that makes her completely useless and a bad pick.

Blitz didn't fly so good!

This. IQ's speed and good rifles are meant to be her main appeal and her gadget is supposed to be supplementary. You're not supposed to go around with your nose in your gadget hunting every jammer, you maybe look around for the defending drone/cameras if the defenders are using Valkyrie and/or Echo and then push.

where's the porn at

...

maybe give her a way to mark what she sees for other players, she should be a hard counter to echo or valk but it doesn't really work out

see she references his famous line referring to him as "my friend". thermite is out their slaying gook pussy like the best op he is

The one thing I want Ubisoft to add to IQ and they never fucking will, the only thing she's good for at the moment is countering Pulse

Fuck I bought it for 50 bucks a week ago, think steam will gib a refund?

fuckin idiot, it goes on at least -50% sale often enough. try your luck.

All I want for Christmas is a nice gas attack. The Tokyo subway '95 party was okay, but it would have been better if all the sarin bags were punctured properly.

If it's more than two weeks or you got more than 2 hours on it it won't let you refund, sorry retard.

Any squads with a spot open?

Bartlett U is growing on me.

I pair her up with Fuze so I can kill almost any counter before Fuze lays down his gadgets. Other than that she is pretty useless except maybe against Valkyrie.

I didn't think about that but speed more often than not gets you killed unless you're breaching with a flash. If you're not carrying flashes on IQ what are you doing?

Should I be able to run this?

Because even on the main menu i'm getting like 80c degrees for CPU

It looks like you will be fine, but try turning the graphics down.

Well, as I said, even on the main menu i'm getting worryingly high temperatures. I suspect that my laptop is deffective and has cooling issues.

well that explains it. If it's idling that high then no, I wouldn't try it unless you can get some peripheral coolers.

It's mentioned in her bio that she worked with FBI operator Jordan Trace. Trace later went onto become a member of Team Rainbow under the code name Thermite. He helped her build her neato gadget.

Also, with this same bio shit, we learn that a Spanish engineer helped put the new ballistic plate on Tachanka's gun. She goes by "Mira". It's expected we'll see her as an addition soon.

She can also counter Echo's flying tablet, Mute's jammers, sometimes see nitro cells if some assholes are too dumb to slow the fuck down and LISTEN happens a lot with my team, I end up either yelling at them or using Fuze's shield to try and be a literal speed-bump , she can ID devices in rooms for Fuze to either avoid frying his cluster bombs, etc.

The biggest issue isn't that the game doesn't relay what she finds, it's that the players don't fucking listen or the IQ player doesn't say shit. That said, if she isn't talking but is doing good on her guns, it's fine. Better than Capitau that fucking mud monkey and IQ players also don't tend to rush in like total fucking retards like a fair deal of Ash players do. In fact, at least four times I can count today I watched Ash rush into a hail of bullets with the sole justification being that she naded the fucking door that led her to said bulletstorm. Fucking cunts.

I know there's a learning curve but I am so
FUCKING TRASH
at this videogame.
It doesn't help that I'm rank 15 and keep getting matched with people similar level or lower, then squared off against nothing but teams of people rank 100+ that instantly kill me across the map through a pinhole they created as the match started.

nice dubs, but anyway that's the other issue with IQ is listening and watching the environment works just as well as her gadget, you can hear yokai hovering, you can hear jammers and sometimes even jaegers magpies, you can check for kaptraps, i think the biggest exception is blackeyes if the enemy team is smart enough to not spam the mark button when using them

what will it take to please this game to run again

He still has headshot immunity.

Hes unbalanced by creation

My word of advice that helped reach diamond.
git gud.

well, what is going wrong? I know it's been said time and time again in these threads, but waiting, using drones, listening, and having fast reflexes are what makes people good.

don't forget map knowledge in the sense of not necessarily knowing where things are, but where things can move to

Her name is fucking Lin Tsnag and she was born in Vancouver.

Because he lost the war. A lot of the points in that graph are ironic, to be fair.

Bartlett is best map tbh.

Yeh, but set that with her guns and she's still a solid shooter and decent to have if her player speaks up in a team that actually listens. I myself have had various runs of success with her and her LMG DAKKA! while pacing myself more slowly than most other medium-light weight operators. Her gadget is more a supplement, as stated before, but most certainly isn't harmful like some people can be. A bad IQ won't get you killed like a bad Ash, Fuze, etc. will and that, oddly, is a strength for her. In fact so long as she's shooting, her gadget is more complimentary than anything else and would only work to help a lazy team have a slightly larger margin for error if they listen to her warnings.

I feel as though IQ was designed more for Terrorist Hunt than for PvP.

this game has been so fucked for me since the mid-season patch

...

finally got it and man is it ugly

I don't think there is a bigger fuck you possible to Blitz players

So you mean since whenever this game spiked in popularity because people are more hectic now playing this like CS: GO only concerned with shooting and placing shots.

Why are the people that play Jaeger always retarded? Is it something about "Muh best gun", going fast or the edgy lone wolf roamy bullshit? Why do people even fucking pick Caveira?

I'm interested in this game, but I have a question: how are the shotguns in the game? Will I be able to stay relevant if I play solely shotgun?

They're okay. Great for setting kill holes, and decent damage often incapacitating enemies. Rifles/SMGs usually kill faster though, but SAS has both shotgun and (a terribly op with decent aim) SMG.
Probably.

I JUST WANTED TO BE A TEAM PLAYER

Just get Mont, his full body shield is fun and you get a lot of stare down time to distract the other team for your allies to hit them from another angle.

pic related, all me

Looks like we know who's getting nerfed next patch

Please no, I just unlocked him yesterday.

Has the game been playing like ass for anyone else it was working fine a few days ago.

Oh, definitely. In TH she's essential.

Sorta. I've watched players do that but generally they don't last long during matches.

Y-yeah. I've only been playing badly as of late, yup.

i encountered lots of issues after the mid-season patch, but it turns out it was mostly accounted to the fact i forgot to change my thermal paste, but it did end up dropping my settings from v.high to medium which is barely noticeable to me

It's not supposed to be like this

Winter sale brought in a lot of retards lately. Then again acting unpredictably does work out pretty well especially right now.

If your way of playing smart falls apart when people don't play how you expect, maybe it's not very smart.

The goal is to play smart and slow, or fast and hard at different times. If you're roaming on defense, you can play recklessly if you can catch people off guard, especially if they're new and expect everyone to turtle in the objective. I've been topscoring winning almost every game, so I think the christmas noobs are around.

...

The only other game I've seen with this much Holla Forums is mountain blade

...

It doesn't do any more damage, it has a larger radius of 4.2 meters, iirc half of which is a wounding radius that does less damage radiating outwards so the very tip doesn't do that much damage at all. Fuze's cluster charge grenade detonating in the fatal range (2.1 m) will always do 120 damage, which is 100 operator health + 20 Down But Not Out health, killing people instantly.

He definitely gets a lot more people now, even if he only downs some, and he definitely destroys the fuck out of enemy gadgets now.

The range increase really pisses me off. I've been killed by both friendly and enemy fuze's, as well as killed teammate well outside of what should be lethal for a dumb little hockey puck grenade. If it lands at the bottom of a window and I'm at the top rappelling and there is still a barrier there, I should not die.

...

Grenades in this game have weird fucking bounce arcs, I've seen some crazy kill-cam footage of a cluster charge grenade's path as it made its way across mountains, streams, and over the river and through the wood's, PAST grandma's house, and right at my feet.

...

...

No shit, I now only play Mute on defense. Depending on the map, I'll stay and move the jammers around to keep jamming new shit or if they're in spots with overall good coverage I'll roam with my brother (was Doc, now Pulse) hunting down Attackers. When people see that I actually throw out the jammers before even strapping on Rook's armor, they generally feel good about having me around. It's nice to be appreciated sometimes.

Caveira initiates rocks fall, everyone dies endings. If you have one offensive operator off on his own not paying attention, everyone else is getting headshot through walls within 20 seconds.

Ackshually, if someone has Rook armor, they'll get downed instead of dying instantly, even in the 2.1 meter range. But, I think, that you get an instant kill if someone actually gets hit by the puck, takes the 10 or 20 damage from the direct impact, and then it explodes.

jaeger is the fucking peepking and niggas get greedy, but i would argue that he's better as a roamer since once his gadgets are down he can sanic is way over to an area opposite of the objective and snipe people, then relocate easily. especially with the suppressor buff

Do grenades do radial damage to each portion of a hitbox, applying it multiple times or does it only do it once?

I'm pretty sure that they only do one instance of damage.

I accidentally killed the hostage and everyone laughed at me

rightfully so

Did you play Spetsnaz?

They should do a April 1st event where the attackers can only play as fuze and the defenders are all Jaeger with the hostage model.

SPETZNAZ OPERATOR WITH CARFENTANYL WHEN

That really makes the 3 armor ops seem not worth it considering how useful speed is and how much quieter the fast guys are.

whoever wins we lose.

I shot at him with a shotgun, mistaking him for an enemy

Yes and no, having that armor if you're holding down a position isn't always bad. I've seen it be the difference multiple firefights, with the armored fuckers coming out on top from face-tanking damage. That said, I get your point but it really comes down to play-style.

why are we meant to suffer in this way

I have no idea.

that reminds me

...

I pirated the game just to feel how it plays and holy shit the game is CPU intensive, even on the lowest setting I got low FPS

Is there any new patch that optimizes the game? or is there any way to fiddle with the configs to make it so?

Tell me about it. I've been playing it for six months locked at 40 fps, since I'm on a dualcore, and if FPS goes over 40 my hud and sound fuck up.

Holy
FUCK
The christmas newfags are in full swing.

P-please no bully ;-;

Tell you what you little fucking cunt, listen to fucking callouts, keep an eye on windows and cams, and for fucks sake have some map awareness. Also,

DON'T FUCKING PEEK IF YOU'RE ON DEFENSE FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK THEY HAVE TO COME TO YOU NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND

I do nothing but sit in a corner on my turrent

Casual as fuck
Play some Buck

...

I never browsed /r/rainbow6. I only got into the game due to seeing this thread 2 days ago and I then I bought the game.
What is with the "King Tachanka" Meme anyways? The turret could be better, but its alright holding down a room with a barrier in front of me and protected walls behind.
His shotgun is pretty nice.

The tachanka meme is basically because hes "lol tachanka"
I'm assuming its because he was dog shit before his buff so they made it a maymay; now hes just shit. Not dogshit, but still shit.

Can someone explain why I should/shouldnt buy it?
Actually give a reason, please

Its a good choice in my opinion if you enjoy FPS games. If you don't enjoy FPS games all that much then you are better off not spending the shekels on it.

nice trips
But why do you think it's good?

Pros:
Cons:

Decent game, okay price, lots of fun, especially with friends. If you get incredibly frustrated with shit teams like me, prepare your anus.

I'd say the best part is the learning curve and adaptability. Way better in my opinion then something like CS:GO. Which is the same everytime.

...

A sad truth, but highly viable tactic.

Why didn't Monty tell you the guys was behind the hostage?

How do I git gud at this fucking game anyway? I try play smart, but I still have an awful ratio. What do?

Listen to your team, learn basic callouts and relay them to your team when needed and for the love of god don't play like you're playing CoD or any other run and gun shooter.

Basically just don't be useless, I had someone the other day openly admit to us others on his team he had voices turned off because "it annoyed him". Don't be like that guy and you'll be fine.

to be honest, autistic mumbling with some vague keywords which you don't even know if it's directed at you can be more distracting than anything

On the other hand

European servers are 50% sandniggers with cocks in mouth yelling at you and screaming "ADD TO FRIENDS, WE PLAY TOGETHER, WE PLAY TOGETHER" after you carry the team.

This video will help a bit. Tried to webm it but it came out as a 200kbps bitrate monstrosity.

Map knowledge:
r6maps.com/

I turn off voices too when playing with strangers. They're distracting and can prevent you from hearing what you need to hear in the game.

...

Hey the webm thread is finally dead. I can post this in its appropriate thread.

Whelp, that save didn't turn out right.

Was it this?

Lord Tachanka was sarcastic due to how bad he was before the most recent update.

Play 2000 hours of T-Hunt to git gud at headshots and learn the maps.

Yes.

What sort of fucking faggot EVER gets angry at Rook? If the plates are on the ground then Rook already pulled his weight and anything else he does (aside TKing obviously) is icing on the cake. Actually it makes Rook a great noob defensive op since it's easy for him to do his primary job. (And all dat armor)

Oh, as for public comms:

Sometimes it just goes right.

Thanks

I really wish i wasn't stuck playing with BRs.

Oh, yeah. Especially the ones who only play the BR ops and don't even know how to use them. To them I constantly yell "WE KNOW YOU PIRATED THE GAME, WHY AREN'T YOU BANNED, YOU FUCKING MUD MONKEY?!?!"

They don't take kindly to that.

Are the BR ops any good?

Cav is, Cap isn't

Caveira will destroy if played right, get one interrogation and if the rest of your team can follow up instant win, and at the very least you ID the enemy team and can follow up with another interrogation. Capitao is ok, he's basically a worse buck. He's got frags and some good guns, but his gadget is really only good for people trying to turtle behind deployable cover.

I heard the PARA-308 is a decent rifle, and I've seen a lot of bad Cap players

Rather than thinking everyone knows where you are, you just have to think of it that everyone will inevitably walk right into your last known position

It's a fine gun but there's plenty of people with fine guns who also have way more reliable gadgets. The area on the fire arrow is so tiny that unless you basically hit someone in the face with it they won't get hurt and if you have line of sight for that you can just shoot them with your gun anyway to kill instead of just dislodge them.

I think its main use is to block exits a-la smoke, or prefiring an angle you're afraid of

Basically answered by and . Cav is hit or miss, she suffers from the fact that she's very fragile and if she dies she was wasted potential. If you don't use her special skill (Only character who uses a skill, not a gadget. Worth noting) but you're good with her guns then so be it, nothing to praise but nothing to complain about. If you manage to actually use her skill, she will give your whole team 10 seconds of wall hacks that can basically win the entire fucking match right then and there if your team exploits it. So, as I said, hit or miss really.

Cap… really I don't see the appeal of the guy. His weapons are fairly standard and his gadget is either good for area denial or flushing out defenders. That first part SHOULD bother you, as that's only worth a damn against incoming roamers and, well, that's it. Flushing out defenders, by itself, would seem pretty good but right now it's very weak at doing that. MAYBE if they increased the AoE on it some, it would become far more effective, but I'm not entirely sure how badly that'd unbalance things. MAYBE he's a Tachinka hard-counter, but since whenever was that essential to the attackers?

He's good, people just don't know how to use him.

pretty sure this image is out of date, the update that gave us caliber-destruction also altered the arm/body hit boxes, i think they're the same damage now because players were inadvertently tanking shots to the chest with their upper arms

i've had the opposite happen

he's just so outclassed by buck, who also gets flash/frags but has 2armor instead of capitaos 1armor, and the skeleton key can shake up defenders far more than the crossbow

buck is actually just fucking great all around, easily one of my favorite dlc ops

KapkanXFrost is OTP anyway

...

Fuck I didn't notice that the first time.

Yeah, all true. So true, in fact, I just don't see why they don't fix Cap to make him at least somewhat as effective as Buck, like increasing the AoE on his arrows, maybe. They better not nerf Buck, he's just FINE as is! He's NOT OP, just HIGHLY versatile and effective!

remember when blackbeard was good? just kidding hes just as good without a shield

Are all the new operators overpowered. Never played any of them.

In a way that guy is using Blackbeard how Ubi WANTS him to be used. As an op he was not intended to spearhead assaults/be a pointman as he was being used, but as a stand-offish op that used the shield mostly to compliment the fact that he should barely be poking out at any time, minus his head. Already that's a massive boon and balancing the shield, a gadget that worked against how every has trained themselves to go for headshots, was an issue when the devs saw that their stand-offish op who's supposed to be distanced/flank support was being used as a pointman.

So they dropped his shield strength and made his aim slower to push his intended purpose. Now he's far more rare to see in combat.

Top Tier:
Top Tier If They Aren't A Mute:
Solid Tier:
OP Last Patch, OP This Patch, OP Next Patch, And Will Continue To Be OP Until They Get A Buff At Which Point Everyone Will Agree They've Been UP For Months Tier:
You Wanted To Play Recruit But You Didn't Want To Play Without Optics Tier:

no, some of the best ops are the base ones. Thermite, thatch, glaz, fuze, rook, and many more. The DLC ops aren't necessary, just fun and mostly sidegrades. Except caveira, she's by far the best roamer.

early blackbeard was arguably OP but he got nerfed like hell, but i would argue all of the DLC operators are very solid save for capitao who just didn't work out that well in practice.

buck is all around solid and good, can work in most scenarios, nothing too flashy, skeleton key works a bit like sledge. frost is a version of kapkan where her traps are more likely to catch some one, but they don't instantly kill so you gotta gamble on going in to finish the enemy or not

Valkyrie gets 3 extra 360degree rotation cameras she can place anywhere, so a valk player is only as good as they are able to communicate using their gadget, and not just spamming mark for points. Blackbeard is a bit like buck, straightforward with good guns, his gadget will save him in a peek-fight for sure, and he's still a strong window-attack even with the nerfs

caveira is high risk really fucking high reward. if you down some one and get to interrogate them without a strong fart killing you first, you get to wallhack the entire enemy team for about 10 seconds or so. Capitao just flopped all around, like caveira he'll die from a mean look with his 1armor but his tools don't make up for that risk since you can take a 2armor op who also has grenades like buck or sledge. his gadget never seems to work right and the AOE on the fire seems to be half the size of its actual animated area

hibana is fucking awesome, the type 89 is awesome, and the fact you can set all 3 of her xkairos before detonating them means you have a lot of flexible ways to shake up the enemy team, Echo is like valkyrie, only as good as you are at communicating what you see through his drone, especially since he's low armor too and his gun shoots hot air instead of bullets

He has max armor though.

my mistake

This is the last time I pay a single fucking cent for an Ubisoft game.

i understand your frustrating but i'm pretty sure theres fixes for that

...

I sure hope so.
Even worse, I can't even open the god damned Ubi forums.

It was on sale locally for like 5 dollars nigga.

...

now that is what I call a meme team.

wtf are you trying to say? also your brother is retarded to buy a drm game with another drm client.

You have no one but yourself to blame.

Exactly what I said. I bought a game key for the Uplay store, activated it, and when I opened Uplay, it doesn't recognize the game folder that my brother downloaded through Steam. We use the same computer because I have college classes in the day and he has classes in the afternoon.
The dumb fuck bought it full price and when he invited me I refused to pay 50 fucking bucks for an Ubisoft game and I'll wait until it goes down to like 15.

I bought a key from a redistributor nigga. Regardless whether or not I buy it, Ubisoft already got paid for it.

The RSS memes are hilarious but that's all the game is good for, as a competitive experience its pure trash.

Someone's salty about getting headshotted.

I posted this question the other day.
The only reason I even want to play this game is because it has shotguns that actually kill people.

that just happened for no apparent reason but we were ok with it. i was really happy with the imagery of Glaz lying dead on the wing

if youre playing on the same computer, why not just share the steam version?

So what would I miss out on by not being a good goy and only buying the standard edition?

all operators cost 12500 renown instead of 200,500,750,1000 per CTU excluding DLC operators otherwise nothing

Thats the starter edition

Some grinding. I'm 100 hours in and only unlocked three DLC ops, but I have all the standard ops, and most DLC ops aren't necessary.

user asked what happens if you dont buy the standard edition. thats what happens, you get the starter edition and have to grind

no, he asked what happens when you buy standard edition, read his post again.

Because I don't like the cumbersome family sharing thing. Anyway, I got it to work now I guess.
Sasuga, Ubi.

god dammit its been a long day apparently

Don't forget that there are usually operator sales every friday. You can spend the 600 premium-ubishekels you get on a DLC operator instead of a standard one, considering the standard ops can go on sale for as low as 50% off, while the DLC ops will always remain at 25.000 renown.

*instead of two standard ones

DLC ops will go as low as 20k.

So I can access all the content as long as I grind for it?

yes all content is available without real shekels save for a couple skin packs

yep. The only thing you have to outright pay for are garish skins.

Make sure you do the "tutorials", they're just short videos about reinforcing walls and shit and you can either sit through them or skip them to get a bunch of free renown.

When I opened the game, I was immediately thrown into picking between the 3 game options. Do I have to open the tutorial videos or something?

They're just down there on the main menu

Just realized Frost has some sexy ass bedroom eyes there

Anyway, holy shit I hadn't played Buck much until now and he is hella fucking good. The recoil for his gun, the perfect burst fire timing, the shotgun breaches/map manipulation, the grenades, its beautiful

Now I kinda regret buying BB instead of him.

Oh wow.

m8

The fuck, user

Damn someone edited that fast

Cheeky

The OC for this game is great

...

thanks castle

These days have been good for fuzes. Actually killing entire enemy teams is fucking cash.

TBF there is Insurgency. With Squad and Day of Infamy in early access, and once they are out of that they should be fine. Also Rising Storm 2 should be out by January or something.

Also as much as I do enjoy the game I have no doubt that once Ubisoft decides they want to move on they will shut down the servers and all support for the game, and we will be SOL.

Was thinking of picking this up on a Steam sale, however, when I went to check apparently Ubishit doesn't plan to give more updates to the game unless you buy Year 2 DLC, which isn't even included in the season pass they were offering. This makes me wary of buying this, should I buy normal, Year 2 edition or just avoid all this bullshit?

All DLC for Siege is free. Purchasing the season pass simply gets you the Operators a week earlier. You can still play the new map and use the updates provided with them.

ALL DLC IS FREE. DO NOT PAY FOR THE SEASON PASS.

Normal.
Nigga what?
I've seen a 2 year chart on what they plan to do on leddit. I think you can get just about anything in the game without paying any money besides buying the game itself. Even things from skins to every single operator you can get with in game currency. (Although will take a long time to farm)

The funnier ones are pretty good. But honestly the weird ones like pic related make me cringe at the fanbase.

Why are there two extra black people and Lemmy in the bottom right?

Gross

wud da fug :DDD

its funny because its retarded to try to slap faces onto those characters, but this is still terrible
who's that supposed to be? capitao and castle are the only black dudes in this game
the absurdity of that would be funny if this image wasn't so autistic

It seems like alot of people think Bandit likes doritos

I bet you regret it even more now that bitchbeard is useless.

I'll give em' props for that

The black chick at the head of the table is the woman from the trailer.

At the very least who ever made the pic has some concept of who John Clark is. Which puts it above most other shit.

NEIN

...

Where do you think half this oc comes from

It's the watermark not where it comes from. Unless you're an artist, making a joke as your property is just wrong, and it also ruins the quality of it and sticks out like a sore thumb.

why, god, why?

You angered some god. Only explanation.

ftfy
for fuck's sake its a redrawing of an original comic with george washington and ben franklin, putting a fucking "made by" mark on the bottom is reddit tier

Caveira x Glaz is the real OTP

...

I think I'll miss the backwards legs if they ever patch it, I find it hilarious.

Even if you're being ironic, stop.

...

You won't believe how many teamkills I've seen too.
And some Caveira literally couldn't fucking see the chat or hear people saying the last enemy is behind him, a wall in between while watching a hole in another wall, and enemy planting the defuser. And of course, it was a console pleb with a controller. Then afterwards proceeded to whine that "you said it too late stfu" like the tard he was. TEN GOD DAMN SECONDS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO READ THE CHAT.
Fucking post-christmas newfags, holy shit.

That's not newfaggotry that's straight-up low IQ.

Modern day humans have really stooped down to nigger-tier levels.

I wonder how that happened.

So I got the game as a gift a few days ago, and started playing it last night.
Been playing Rook and Blitz because I like my team not dying, and I love being shot in the back by friendlies. But what are the must-have operators? Playing as recruit sucks and I'd like more options if my operator of choice is taken.

Caveira if you have the patience to grind but Mute is a huge team-player if you know the cut-off point of linear paths and place down the jamjam at its full extension. Also the MP5K is the best SMG.

Niggerbeard for upsidedown peeking in windows

If you love getting shot in the back you should play Montagne.

Thanks, got Mute now gonna try him out in terrorist hunt first, see how he works.

Now there's something, his rifle seemed pretty powerful. Is there a Holla Forums chart of characters?

I'd rather have some offensive capabilities tbh.

...

There's this
Despite Tachanka having a shield on his turret with faster (re)deploy-time, he's still fairly crappy as a whole unless you know where to set up chokepoints with his turret

Thanks!

It all happened within a second or so and it didn't even register what I was doing. It was clear as day it was the hostage, especially after he goes down and it says hostage down, but I still put another round through his skull because he was still moving.

Mmyeh, that happens.

Cheap move, but as a defender I've gotten Glaz to barely miss me and hit the hostage, forcing them to rush or fail. Usually rush and fail become one in the same.

Why is Montagne so good?

...

Montagne is best played in tight spaces and with your team
There's nothing more tense than an enemy peeking from one angle, and a Montagne just standing there with his fucking shield in another

Not anymore since the latest patch, motherfucker

I have become the big guy.

...

I really don't get people. We had plenty of time to get the hostage and had the upper hand, but some people just want to rush in and kill them all.

I've had to use voice to yell at people a few times if they're about to fuck the team over. Sometimes it works, other times they're just dickbags about it.

That's what we did. I learned pretty quick ou need to talk to people most of the time. Luckily I mostly play with 3 others, so if we fuck up we know it was our fault ( if it wasn't the randie that fucked up) and I always admit when I fuck up. Sometimes I get caught up in getting the guy and die for it.
I've also had times when the whole team never says a word, but we kick ass and win 3-0.

Shit happens.

I've had occasions, as Fuze, where I'm communicating with the team and yet somehow a friendly dies from the clusters. I've noticed, more often than not, that if I was communicating and that shit happens, no one gets pissed about it. If you're quiet and it happens, people get pissed off.

So I bought this game on the recent sale and I'm enjoying it, but most of the people playing are irredeemable retards.

For example, just had a match where one guy killed another at spawn, leaving us two men down due to the teamkiller getting kicked also, then another guy blew himself up trying to kill me, also getting himself kicked, then the last teammate shot me and then died trying to fight 5v1.
Is this normal? I hope it's because I'm playing casual as I'm not level 20 yet.

Even Casual has MMR, albeit a hidden one. I find that if I rate bad matches poorly and close matches well in Casual I get better matches overall with people and levels much closer to mine. Since you've just started you're getting matched either with the scum of society who have a poor casual MMR or Plat 2s that only ever play Ranked and not casual so they have a low casual MMR too.

Oh I've not been rating matches, could be why I'm finding these types of games I suppose. Alright I guess I'll have a few more games and start rating them, see what happens.

Rating plus the accumulation of MMR should get you out of the hellhole fairly quickly, I've only had a few games overall where teamkilling was purposeful and not someone accidentally Fuzing their own team.

I've had that happen too. Anytime I fuze a teammate I tell them I'm sorry even if they ran in after I said I was going to fuze the room. I normally get a "It's my bad, sorry."
Like you said. Shit happens.

I really wish monty's shield was a toggle instead holding it down

If there are friendlies nearby the room you're fuzing, you probably want to ping it and type a quick warning, because the cluster charge hockey pucks can bounce all over the fucking room right to your position
I've had this happen to me when defending the garage in Bar, once a Fuze placed a Cluster Charge on the farthest away door, when I saw via the killcam how a puck bounced around the room to my position I pretty much threw my hands in the air

For attack, sledge, thatcher, thermite, fuze
for defense: rook, mute, jaeger,

For attacker, you CAN toss in Hibana as a pinch replacement for Thermite or combine the two in a team to make reinforced walls more a liability to the defenders (if done right). Also having Twitch with Thatcher (and Fuze) is never a bad thing neither if there is good communication, Thatcher can hit the area with EMP to stop Mute's jammers and then Twitch can disarm shit inside. If you have Fuze, Fuze can do this too if he as a good angle to cluster bomb from and follow that up with Twitch reconing the area while disarming any surviving traps and/or harassing surviving defenders while everyone else rolls in. Also you might exclude Fuze entirely if you're playing Hostage and no one is comfortable with having Fuze hit the non-Hostage rooms due to the possibility of error. (Which is understandable, but generally a group consensus can at least alleviate Fuze of all the blame)

For defense, yeah. These three are basically essential. Tossing Bandit in for walls and doing the "Bandit Trick" or whatever it's called is a good idea if your Bandit is willing to defend the room from the inside. Valkyrie is great because of her cameras and her weapons are nice, and if she sets up her cameras she doesn't HAVE to stay alive for everyone to benefit from them. (Unlike Echo, who is also good but again HAS to be alive to get the benefit) Doc is pretty good if you have armor as you're more likely to go DBNO from body shots and he can heal you, a pro Doc will know when to over-heal your team fending off a big push. I'd say everyone else is nice but not essential to a working defense, the ones I added almost add a greater degree of success nearly by default.

TLDR; Regulate it to the following: It's generally best to pick a character that sets their gadget down and then moves on with the defense independent of said defense. These are generally the most essential operators in a defense.

If attacking, it's generally best to pick an attacker that can either bypass player-made defenses easily or clear the way ahead without putting him/herself in direct danger. These operators see the most utility.

All other operators are there, in some shape or fashion, strictly for kills/area denial and generally have gadgets that they must actively use, thus limiting their overall effectiveness to a degree.

The ones previously mentioned that are recommended do kills, area denial, breaching, autonomous defense, and intel gathering/denial.

BTW, shields are awesome, but don't overextend with them. That's why I didn't recommend them, they rely on having one or some of the previous recommendations to fully utilize. (Fuze is the exception, he can do BOTH like a fucking BOSS)

What song is this? It's pretty sick m8

i excluded DLC ops from the list, but hibana is really fun with or without thermite on hand

Grrrrrreat! By lord loud

>it takes the retarded 45 seconds to get me even though he's 5 meters away, all the while me and my friend, he decides looking into his Thinkpad is more important
>BOUNCES OFF HIS FUCKING SHIELD AND ENDS UP KILLING HIMSELF

how people are so bad with pulse blows my mind, i don't play him often but i've pulled aces with his bullshit powers, you only need to check your heartbeat sensor for like a second and then you can prefire most corners and win.

a lot of pulse players also don't seem to know that the sound of him opening and closing his gadget is audible to the enemy team as well

this game is gonna make me rage-buy new rig components out the wazoo

I am fucking pissed.

So the game's been out over a year, has anyone figured out if the laser sights actually do anything? All my experience and experimentation has pointed to them being completely useless except as a way to give away your position when flanking. Your shots sure as shit don't go where the laser's pointing and if it actually "increases hip fire accuracy" the effect is so minor as to be completely insignificant.

Same for most of the barrel attachments, they all say different shit about first shot recoil, small burst recoil, full auto recoil, but I've never noticed any significant difference between them and if the little recoil diagram is to be believed there isn't any difference for most of them.

why the fuck does this god damn 2-0x0000E000 error happen

wew lad, CUCked

I fucking love this game.

...

Actual text typed into alltalk.
Reddit needs to be exterminated.

I played with a "King Tchanka" or something whose crowning achievement was falling to his death out the second floor window on house defense trying to flank people at the garage doors. I don't think he even had tchanka unlocked since he didn't play him any of the defense rounds and only played recruit on offense.

JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY UBISOFT

Been there, they even argued over who got to play Tachanka whilst I tossed them body armor and Rooked the enemy hard.

Hey i was there for that! That game was the fucking best those kids were massive fucking fags.

I can't wait for all these Christmas kids to get fed up and go back to CoD so my losses can go back to being steamrolls by pros instead of Benny Hill at the Special Olympics.

I've noticed this, why the fuck do kids think Castle is so fucking good to have on the team? He's ONLY good if Mute's doing his job and the enemy team isn't using Sledge, Thatcher, Twitch, Glaz, Fuze, Thermite, Hibana, Ash, isn't packing explosives, and is not trying to take the objective area.

He's also bad if you have kapkan, frost, bandit, or anyone who wants to use barbed wire since any of that stuff around his shit just gets blown up by they explosives they attract. I think he's probably the only operator who is worse than recruit, at least the other low-tier operators are only on par with recruit in providing no extra utility to the team instead of actively sabotaging it.

Castle is good for windows and a door out of your reach.

I had to use my drone to find the last guy. I've never enjoyed a shooter this much before. Score was 10-2

is it just me, or is blitz's shield actually smaller than all the other shield ops? I always seem to get shot as him, but on monty and fuze I do fine.

GSG-9 helmets and people being afraid of Blitz because his shield is designed for active offense not passive.

Didnt Thermite charges used to blow up frost traps if they were close to the wall?

Which operator is best for a beginner? I'm playing the situations so I'm not totally shit. But I have renown from them and don't want to waste it.

Rook, Mute, Sledge and Fuze. The defenders have easy to use gadgets you just slap down at the start of prep in some obvious places and the attackers aren't super essential to the team so an early death doesn't cripple your team and they have good quality and good variety of weapons. Ash and IQ are also good starting attackers, IQ is pretty shit once you know the game but for a beginner she's really useful for learning camera locations on the maps.

One thing I'm thinking of trying and wondering if anyone else has tried, is blasting a firing slit at prone height. While the defenders are wondering about the explosion you take their shins. I fear it's actually better for a defender though, depending on layout. Anyone tried it?

I love how blackbeard's shield is basically as durable as wet paper towel now.

sledge for attack, rook for defense. sledge works well in just about any scenario and even if he dies, you don't have to change your gameplan too much like you would if thermite or thatcher died

rook you just place your armor packs down at round start and you've already benefited your team

i'd agree about using IQ to help learn camera locations, once you memorize them yourself she's not so vital. she's still a hard counter to valkyries cameras at least

still saves you from one headshot

Jesus no wonder these characters get picked all the fucking time, now I'm going to feel even more reluctant to be the obligatory Thermite or Rook.

Mute and Rook for def.
Everyone likes wifi and taking more body shots.
Sledge and Mont for attack.
Making entry points is very helpful for the team and being a literal wall is useful for distractions and flanking people.
Get Twitch, and Tachanka for fun.
Focus on either distracting the shit out of people with twitch drone while allies come in and get the kill, Tachanka just keeps an area covered as a kill zone.

What are the best ops for maximum point farming?
Trying to do the 4k MVP challenge but keep ending up 300-400 points short

You can try doing Twitch and killing a ton of things with drones. Also Fuse is good if you get all 3 of your bombs to kill a ton of wire and gadgets. Pinging a shit ton of defenders with drones through the match is good too. 5 points per body per ping can add up if it's a good hiding spot right where they're camping. Best to do it after prep period ends as most defenders will not bother to find the drone while your team is throwing lead at them.
Mute is really useful in stopping stuff and getting that extra 200 points in hiding the objective.
You pretty much have to hide the objective each time defending and find the objective each time attacking. Getting kills also helps, but isn't fully necessary to get top score.
