They released both of them at the same time, probably to try and trick people who loathed S2 into coming back.

Its because the disc release was delayed. They wanted to release it all at once so they just gave everyone 2 eps but both late. Ep1 was supposed to come out in November

The episodes are short as fuck anyway, so it at least softens the blow a little.

I'll take your word for it as it definitely feels like a rushed job but, surprisingly enough, in the technical department this time around instead of the writing department. I don't know, I might be overstating how good this season is shaping up to be since my expectations were so catastrophic the end result is incredibly pleasing.

My Clementine seems really badly written. I've never looked at this game as more than an interactive movie but it doesn't seem as good as I hoped. Better than Michonne but so far, not as good as S2. And that's not a good thing.

Go in details user, I'm curious if there is actually any real change to speak of this time around - at least as far as Clementine goes seeing as she was the main selling point of this.

Not that user, but so far, all of the characters seem much more likable and consistent. Even Clementine, who took about ten levels in edge, is better than her season 2 counterpart.

But just getting past episode one, and about five minutes into episode two, I've noticed some serious framerate drops, some Z-fighting, and a really rough hitch. The Telltale engine looks nicer but it still runs like refried ass.

I've got a bug if anyone else has seen it. I downloaded the torrent up on volafile but when I start the game in the start menu I get a completely fucked up background with no new-game or anything. It keeps panning to trees and shit and it seems like I'm missing textures and meshes or something.

The main game is really pretty, and it has good camera angles. I think the framing and stuff like that is really tight. I got the Clem who is about family solidarity but she just seems jaded. At the end of season 1 Your niece gets her skull caved in with an AK round and the emotional breakdown isn't believable. Javier was with little baby brains blown back for 4 years. around the same as Kenny and longer than Lee but he just kind of blinks at it and gets over it in one day. Jesus' intro is kind of unbelievable too.

In all fairness it's not hard to achieve that, Clementine would of been a shitload better in S2 if the entire supporting cast sans Kenny weren't a bunch of mongoloids or worthless retards. I think I'm going to be in the minority that enjoys the Jaded Clem in this season because you are actually given choices to put her in her fucking place and subtly remind her what the fuck you tried to teach her in the previous season - not to mention outright berate her for stupid shit, even if it ended up being an accident. The technical issues are quite obvious, aye, but I can't say I encountered any issues with framerate tonight. Almost got stuck in two technical hangs due to some camera fuckery tho'

It really dropped the ball near the end of the first episode and the transition to the Flashback didn't help matters either. If that scene did one thing right was not making you carry her corpse to the grave after picking her up and shit by mashing Q.

Not that it's inherently a bad thing, lil' bit of fanservice can definitely help, but I imagine that once Telltale sees just how fucking skewed these results are I fear their just going to fuck up further episodes and make sure Clem can do no wrong. Welp, just finished episode 2. I can say without a shred of doubt that this is infinitely better than season 2. Not perfect, but still fairly solid at least on the writing front. The ending was genuinely unexpected, and I'm interested in seeing how things develop from here.

It showed us not only how the apocalypse affects adults, but children too, there's brief moments of levity mixed in with the depression and the depressing moments really hit.

It also managed to break away from Kirkman's conflict formula, which are the same every fucking time.
