Pay2win

Can the pay2win fever go away or are the whales and kids with cash of every new generation revisiting it ? Do people grow out of it or do they get even deeper into it with increases in their own income?
Why do people fall for it ? Frustration ? The buy to get fun reason ?

I see a lot of people discoveting the path of the market jew in mmos to the point where they get paid shit quite easily. Shouldn't game economies collapse with too many people exploiting them ? Or are there that many whales ?
Any stats on how much people buy pretty pictures online in f2p games ? Warframe ? Dota 2? LoL ? Heartstone ?

Or is star citizen simply proof enough of human stupidity that will never end and get repeated with each generation, or when a generation forgets the previous big scam ?

F2p p2w are a symptom of severe market saturation. It won't go away anytime soon.

Can severe market saturation stop at some point ? Some huge crisis could possibly fuck the entirety of the market perhaps ?

I totally thought that manga was a doujin.

yeah, when its no longer profitable, like any other market.

It is so easy for developers to manipulate their game's economy that they'll do whatever is necessary to keep people spending money on it, regardless of how many players lose or gain with their manipulations.

We need to define p2w first, boss.
Is storage space p2w?
Is inventory space p2w?
Are character slots p2w?
Are cosmetic items without stats p2w? What if they can be sold/bought for in-game currency?
Is premium currency that can be earned through grinding automatically removes any p2w accusations, regardless of what can be bought with said currency?

Also.
How does company pay for servers/electricity/all other expenses when kids and whales aren't shilling out dosh for all of that?

Let players host their own servers?

Good point.
What about anti-cheat systems?
What about online games that constantly roll out updates?

The market is fucking boring.
I'd rather just spend 45€ with the -75% discount and simply buy shit.

Semantics.

is she gonna suck dick for money next?

How come that requiring paying for the game upfront is an OK practice, but (not) requiring paying for the game after you started playing it is a bad thing?

Anti-cheat can be run on custom servers, no?

Just sell the game. Decent multiplayer games that go on discount sell like hotcakes. Don't blow the budget on expensive faggot voice actors and licenses so making a profit won't require guidance from the Talmud.

FACT: If a game takes has a cash shop that offers game affecting items that cannot individually be earned in 3 day's worth (Not a 3 days of playing it nonstop, 3 day's WORTH) of active gameplay, its Pay2Win. If you support any game that requires you to either play (Or worse WAIT) for a long period of time just to unlock the most basic weapons, you need to kill yourself immediately (That means you, Planetside and Warframe generals)

It can be. Depends on how much is behind the paywall and how valuable it is.
If it's 4 slots out of 24 inventory it can be tolerated. If it gets bigger it becomes cancer. Something like 1/6th of space can be tolerable.
Same with storage, but I believe storate has a higher tolerance limit. Something like 50% can be tolerated if the slots aren't ultra important.

Absolutely. The warframe while you had 1 or 2 slots was pure cancer. Especially if you choose a frame you dislike in the beginning.

Normally not. It just makes the game look like cancer.

Terrible wording, but yes. It is p2w since that currency requires considerable time to get unless you are a market jew. And thus you have pay with tons of time for it. Warframe is a chore because of this.

Server costs aren't really that high. Devs always overblow their value to demand more cash. And usually companies rent space rather than make their own server department, even more so for distant regions.

Not requiring any payment usually means you need a lot of time in the game to get what you want. In games like lol you cannot play the fun new characters without weeks of grind. During that time a guy who pays demolishes you with the flavour of the month hero.
Your time spend there getting hit like a punching bag becomes the product, that serves other players. While with full priced games you directly get the fun. They are not designed to keep you on a threadmill.

It's a gag manga. She looks for ways to pay off her debt. Some older lady makes a clown of herself while showing her how.
No sex.

And you're not just paying to have the fun, like in other games, because why exactly? You didn't thought you could outjew the jews did you?

Pay to win is anything that directly boosts your ingame performance, e.g. buying items, buffs, xp boosts, mounts, etc. Whether the player can also obtain them for free is irrelevant.

Stuff like item storage space and character slots are a gray area, because usually they technically don't boost you ingame, they're just minor conveniences. For example, you might not ever want a second character, and you might not ever need more item storage space. So defining it as "pay to win" is a little misleading, it's more like "pay for convenience".

For example ROTMG, which although has become total p2w garbage, has extremely limited item storage and doesn't let you make more than 1 (or 2?) characters. But you can get around that limitation without paying by making more accounts or simply selling your items immediately and consuming potions as soon as you get them. It doesn't really make you stronger than someone else or help you do things more easily.

Because it looks cool and flashy and most goys need a while to figure how bad it is.

...

She was the whale all along.

No.
It stops being free to play when a SINGLE thing a player can obtain is not obtainable free.
The only thing that changes is how jewish the pay to win scheme is from that point forward.

Well truthfully I allow it because I believe PoE is not p2w. It has some storage slots cut. But that is it.

Biggest P2W game out there and it's not even out yet!

Now time for the SCDF to show up!

Generally the Internet is the cancer which is killing video games. Pay2win is just one symptom of many.
Ask yourself if the Internet is ever going away, then you have then answer what to expect from future games.
