The 1st game is great, the 2nd one is okay nothing too special save for the art direction and hair physics; they're not that long and IIRC the original was remastered.

By the way, Alice is a pretty underrated female character, guess that the subconscious as a theme didn't pick up that much when doom and quake were still highly popular.

But I still hope she isn't, American McGee has had a really fucking tough life. On his 13th birthday his father, who he just met, got drunk and tried to gouge his eyes out and rape him. To get away he had to convince his father that he wanted to fuck him but they should go to the pub, drive in separate cars, so he could get away. His father crash on the way, already being drunk.

Seems to be doing relatively alright in China / SEA but Spicy Horse studios apparently closed (they're only in charge of a few F2P games now) so the future of Alice is very uncertain, even with the successfully founded Kickstarter campaign and all. It's a real shame, I wanted to see Otherlands even if the CGI quality is RWBY tier.

It's pretty, and the writing is okay, but it's not particularly challenging. It's definitely no Devil May Cry in terms of combat depth/complexity. There's also only a single boss fight in the entire game, despite every single area building up to what would've been a unique one. There's always some reason or excuse for why you don't actually fight them. As for the final boss, I actually can't remember a single noteworthy thing about the fight itself.

The platforming is pretty decent too, but again it's not that challenging. The game also didn't strike me as being one I'd want to come back to again and again.

I'd say to try before you buy.

but thats a lie, i know for a fact that you cant buttonmash in hard mode. some enemytypes wont allow for it. it isnt really hard, but difficult enough to not be boring at times.
in most reviews it says the combat is complete shit, but when i actually tried the game out, i had to disagree with that.

i remember liking the sound design and some of the music too. the sound the pepper grinder thing does when you shoot is so satisfying. also i think its worth playing through for the artstyle alone.

You forgot about copy/paste puzzles that even give you option to skip them, section of 2d wonkiness, cut boss battles, that tease you with a cutscene, but don't actually happen and shit plot with the premise that cancels out ending of previous game so, you could have a sequel for a sake of having sequel. Porn is literally the only good thing about it.

Man combat could have had some depth to it. For example knife is fast, but weak attacks, so by that logic, unicorn should be heavy, but slow, but instead it's knife is slightly faster and really weak and completely useless when you get unicorn head, which way stronger, yet not that slower. Or how about introducing a parry system which becomes useless after half and hour. Combat is indeed a complete shit.

Its prettty good, I couldn't get the pirated copy to work though but if you pirate it you can play the OG alice flawlessly which is also pretty good. We need more games based on fairytales and stuff because alice is a QT.

user, did you perhaps not use the upgrade system? by the time you get the head the vorpal blade can already be incredibly strong and fast. its not cuhrayzee, but enjoyable for what it is.

but if you are naive enough to think that most goods or especially raw materials always adhere to standards you will be fucked over at one point or another. you gotta doublecheck everything yourself. i dont think that mcgee buys a lot of raw materials though.
china is still developing in a lot of ways and if you come in expecting that everything works like in industrynations you will be angry and disappointed, like steeltraderanon.

It's an unfinished, mediocre God of War clone with amazing aesthetic and an interesting story.
