7th gen gems thread

Haven't gotten around to these games until now for some reason. Is it still worth getting them now, especially since Black Friday is coming soon?

Lost Planet is top tier except for the retarded final boss fight

This, as much as I love Zone of the Enders that final fight just doesn't control well at all.
Lost Planet 2 also has a shitty final boss but at least they don't completely change the control scheme for it.

de Blob is one of my favorite games of all time, I pride myself in having purchased the first two games before the dev team, Blue Tongue, went under. It's so colorful and the platforming is great. It can be a collectathon if you want it to be, too. They only affect things outside of gameplay though, like concept art.

Lost Planet is really good. It felt like it had the potential to be Capcoms Metal Gear. A huge world, a large scope, bleak situation, giant robuts, fun combat, a survival element. The story about colonists and a failed world really drew me in and the mechs especially your characters dads is so fucking cool.

Its not gods gift to videogames but the first two are very fun for different reasons. 1 is edf meets metal gear, 2 is monster hunter meets the first.

the 3rd is a dead space clone prequel because capcom lost its mind for a few years there.

What the fuck?

xbox 360 versions great, ports all shit.

I pirated it nearly a decade ago, and distinctly remember that bugs and crashes aside, the gameplay was just terrible.

I just looked up a video of the 360 version and it's the same fucking gameplay. Normally I won't bully someone for having bad taste, but this goes far beyond bad taste. How can you unironically say that it's a good game?

Sick meme post, memester.

Go play it

Kill yourself

No, you kill yourself.

Its a fun arcadey 3rd person shooter with a survival element on a frozen failed colony world full of alien animals you kill for their thermal energy. Also there are mechs. Thats all i needed and i had fun.

Thats the joke
Back to >>>/cuckchan/ now you literal memespouting retard.

The joke is you shitposting with useless recommendations? Wow, that's so funny and not at all just you being a retard fagging up the thread.

You need to go back

Great game, OP. To me, it represented an early gen6 optimism with all the ideas it brought together.
It's a bit dated, seeing as it was released during the PS3nogaems era of last gen, but it's a good game in its own regard. Try it with an open mind.

Lost Planet 1 and 2 are fun, except for LP1's horrible final boss fight. Also LP2 is more co-op focused than single player focused, its like Left 4 Dead where its strongly recommended to have friends to have fun.

But speaking of gems, I'd recommend

Last gen sure had a ton of duds and inspired poor business practices but thankfully there's still loads of fun to be had.

LP2 is left 4 monster hunter defence force.

That description makes me more sad that I never got to play the multiplayer modes for the LP games in their hayday due to being a poorfag, it sounds awesome.

Multiplayer in 1 was pretty great though some of the maps were kinda shitty and the shitty ones tended to get played way too frequently for some reason. Akrid Hunter mode in Colonies edition was fantastic except for the rare occasions on the one river map where one of the Akrid players was a dumbass and fell into the water and drowned right at the start, ending the match instantly.
Co-op in 2 was really enjoyable with some exceptions, the desert train level should have been the best in the entire game because of the cannon shit at the end but the fact that that fight was stuck on the end of a long ass stage with limitless opportunities for instant death meant groups wiped before reaching it way too fucking often and as a result everyone avoided playing it entirely. After the first few weeks everyone also started pretty much exclusively playing one of the hovercarrier missions since it was the easiest to farm boxes on and the rest of the missions basically never got any players. PvP mode was fucked too since they switched from lobbies to matchmaking and the matchmaking system was completely busted and would constantly start lopsided shit like 6v4 games and I even once somehow got like a 7v2 in the faction battle mode. The maps were also generally a bit shittier and stuff like the energy safes made getting the interesting weapons and suits really annoying.

God LP2 multiplayer was THE FUCKING SHIT. The level where you ride a battle train across a continent carrying huge bullets to load giant canons for your bros you aim a huge train long canon at a desert city sized monster while the rest of you fight off bandits on hover bikes and smaller patasite monsters was fucking operator tier bro-op

LP2 multi is still somewhat alive

Lost Planet is garbage

LP was great, underrated gem for sure.

LP had good co-op.

LP3 never happened. Shut the fuck up.

E.X. Troopers was good also
