I'm in the exact same position. The only way to get a Dawn Stone is through Poké Pelago expeditions for "brilliant-stone hunting" to find evolutionary stones. You have to unlock rank 2 of Isle Aphun by having a certain number of boxed pokémon and spending a lot of poké beans. You can check the game to see the exact requirements; I can't remember them right now.

I'm waiting for my first expedition to return right now. What I'm curious about is if I can save scum it when the timer finishes to get the stone I want. I had to go to QR code/GTS to get a Snorunt before most of the game was over.

Calm down user. First off, Slowpoke tails are a bit like lizard tails. they'll detach and regrow. but slowpoke uses this not only as a defense mechanism (to persuade birds to just leave it alone) but also for its own benefit as a fishing lure.They know its tasty.

I can only think that Alola being tropical islands must have plenty of slowpokes, and perhaps work out some sort of deal with slowpoke to get the tail in exchange for food or something. It would probably still hurt slowpoke though.

I just got the first 3 down to red and spammed ultra balls, first 2 went after throwing enough balls, 2nd ended up in a great after running out of ultras. Bull tupa struggled on red after I ran out of ultras, caught him the 2nd time around. Last one I burned to match the aqua ring eventually getting it into an ultra.
First three I didn't status at all, you really just have to pray to rngesus and spam whatever balls you have on hand.

To be fair it was getting the night-time bonus because of the time when I caught it. I don't know for sure if I did but one thing's for sure, I wouldn't have minded resetting once or twice to get the delicious irony.

Also I forgot to buy Ultra Balls throughout the entirety of the game. In fact, I never bought a single Pokeball during the entire game. I had to catch Tapu Koko in fucking Great Balls.

The dialogue and humor in this game is so on-point. Every new area I go around exploring and talking to everyone and everything. Laughed my ass off at Nanu doing the Z pose then looking embarrassed and getting a horrified look from Gladion. Scenes also made me genuinely feel bad for some characters, like the lady in the graveyard that is struggling to forgive the man who killed her husband, or the Skull grunt that says he feels incomplete and this is his only place in the world. A+ Game

For your first competitive, I'd suggest building a team around a specific pokemon. Build a team around your favourite pokemon, even.
Pick your favourite.
Then pick a pokemon that beats the pokemon that beat your favourite.
Then pick another pokemon that beats the pokemon that beat your favourite.
Then pick another pokemon that beats the pokemon that beat your favourite.
Then pick a pokemon that beats whatever pokemon you don't like.
And finally, pick a pokemon that can do the things the rest of your team doesn't have room to do.

That right there is a standard bulky offense team: Kill the things that give your favourite pokemon trouble so that you can sweep with him once they're gone.

A lot of people didn't like the appearance changes (mega evolutions went out of their way to be overdesigned and 'cool' looking) and mega evolutions were given to pokemon that were already powerful (Scizor, Metagross, fucking Rayquaza) while weaker pokemon that could have used a mega evolution got nothing. In some of the worst cases, single-stage evolutions (Mawile, Kangaskhan) got mega evolutions, meaning they would never be able to get proper evolutions. Worst of all is that those two in particular got mega evolutions so powerful they're outright banned from regular play, so a lot of people can't use them even if they like them.

Personally, I liked them. Having said that, I only started playing Pokemon again recently so I wasn't around for mega evolution's initial introduction.

I think it was also mega-evos are really hard to balance and only made already very popular and powerful mons even more powerful. Z-moves can be used by any mon however. They are still more powerful on the more powerful mons though so not sure they thought it through entirely.

Aside from pokes with 2 evolutions already, this is do-able.

Realistically has anyone catched 'em all without cheats after the first gen? It involves copious amounts of autism, handing all your money to goyfreak by buying multiple games or the other version of the same game and then repeating the story mode or somehow finding someone willing to give away their legendaries, investing in gimmicks, not having enough space in the PC and then the next gen comes along and breaks transferring

I know a guy with a living dex. As in he doesn't just have every pokemon registered, he has every pokemon at the same time. This is in XY.
The trick is to get pokemon which are harder to get a hold of, such as Stantler or Purugly. Then you just breed them and stick them up on GTS for whatever you want. You don't get the rarer legendaries but there are other dex completers who really want those pokemon, and who will happily trade away cool things for them.
GTS is absolute shit otherwise, unless you like kids putting up Ratattas for level 9 or under Genesects. I wonder how bad GTS is this time around

Well, you don't need HM slaves anymore. You get Ride Pokemon now. Tauros to break rocks, Charizard to fly, Lapras and Sharpedo to surf. It's convenient.

Surf, Waterfall, and Fly are TMs though so don't worry about not having Surf on Special attackers that can learn Surf, and not having Waterfall on Physical attackers that can learn Waterfall though.

If you don't have a mon witha Z Crystal, I want to bring something up - Z-Purify increases all of Pyukumuku's stats when used. If you use Toxic/Purify/Baton Pass not only will you heal from healing the other mon's status effect but you'll have a boost on every stat which you can then Pass onto another mon.

Bug-guy here, A little bit out of the blue, but Ribombee (Evolved from that tiny ass Cutiefly) is fucking BEAST.

Two things that make it special, It has Crobat stats, but for Special Attack instead of Attack and it has a unique move called Pollen Puff, which does as much damage as Bug Buzz, but changes when you target your own mons in double battles, it becomes a fucking HEAL.

Early on, it's best attack is Draining Kiss, but in time it becomes obsolete, but by that time, Ribombee will be able to kill most anything before it even moves, it has access to Roost, Psychic, Energy Ball, U-Turn and Dazzling Gleam (also level up) by TM and you can breed Moonblast into it for even more Special damage.

It gains QUIVER DANCE by level up and has access to Stun Spore from level 7.

This little ass fucking thing turns into a monster's monster when it evolves, I took out a level 50 mon on Battle Spot at
LEVEL 33.

Another crazy fuck is Araquanid, who has huge defensive stats and an ability that straight up doubles water type move damage. He also learns Aqua ring to keep him going, but with his ability on, when using Water moves his attack essentially skyrockets to 140.

This leaves him very predictable, as Liquidation(a new physical at 85 power) is his best move, however it opens the guy's moveset up to support moves like Reflect, Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Soak (making him a Rain Dance + Soak support with a Electric Type as a partner to spam Thunder, or just Soak, pairing him with a Galvantula with Thunder and Compundeyes is almost unstoppable) and the like.

Pollen Puff all day, Dazzling Gleam/Moonblast all day, Stun Spore the fuck out of everyone, Quiver Dance when your enemy has a bad matchup against you.

The rest are dumps, so pick a nature that helps special attack or speed but doesn't lower either.

According to the marketing, it seems to be connected to the game, and glow when you're able to use your Z move, then go crazy during it. Not sure if that's true though, might just be a shitty $35 light-up wristband.

No, it's not even BW2's area based Pokedex. It's just XY's sectional Pokedex, but at least you can tell exactly which patch of grass a Pokemon is in, as long as it's not in a sub-area. Another upside is being able to scan QRs to fill your seen dex so you can find the Pokemon without having to consult the internet all the time.

That's annoying. Dexnav was really convenient and helped with farming pokemon like eevee.

At least there's a new chaining type with the SOS battles. That is, Pokemon calling other similar Pokemon (or predators sometimes) in battle. Doesn't help when the Pokemon you're trying to catch calls for help, does help when you're looking for hidden abilities, shinies, and other stuff probably.

Im using a Charjabug and it is bretty good, mostly becaue Dark is fucking everywere early game, so it did its part even before getting the Elec typing, is primarily Physical, gets STAB physical attacks early (Bug Bite at 9, Spark at 16) and Acrobatics for good non-stab attack option, Grubbin Get X-Scissors at 25 , Charjabug gets it a 31 and the line can learn Wild Charge via TM for a 90 move when that becomes relevant.

The issue if any is probably that the abilities are lackluster until it becomes Vikavolt and gets Levitate.
