The more important information is that none of the narrative makes coherent sense and the entire game was made assets first, like all less FFs. Expect this to be FF8-2.

Because there might be an important twist in some part of the story you wouldn't expect and be amazed in the moment when you realize what's happening, or a tense moment where a character may or may not die could be completely nullified due to already knowing what happens to the character in the end.

Normally all the events in a journey will build up to an ending. It is the culmination of everything the character/group has gone through to build themselves up from where they started up to that end point to help them conquer it. And ending should not just an ending being some small side part that someone phones in like most AAA games today. Mass Effect did it terribly, Asura's Wrath did it perfectly(or pretty fucking well).

I'll bet the ending is either the world is save or some good shit happens after the big bad guy is defeated, or there's a cliff hanger leaving the possibility of a sequel. Most stories end similarly, there's hardly any variety. Even if the ending is where everybody dies it's not anything special.
I think that stories like the ones in Steins;Gate handle it's endings well as any ending it's endings are based out of many possibilities from an infinite number of timelines.

From what I hear the game was put on hold because of FF13 needing more attention when it was just known as Versus 13, they switched engines because 13's engine was only meant for hallways and nothing else, they switched focus from PS3 to PS4/Xbone, it's a miracle the game even got made at this point.
