I'm conflicted because while I agree in that the workers should own them I still find it fucking crazy how in the US every mad fuck can get them, that simply doesn't happen in my country (for example a teenager once tried to shoot up a school but couldn't get anything else than a pistol and was easily stopped), is the possibility of a madman commiting a massacre a necessary evil or could a marxist support some sort of background check?

In every revolution, similarly, most people stayed in their homes while other people fought for their sake. That is also what we must do, if there is no other option. And to do that, we need to be able to fight against those who attempt to stop us from achieving a society that is worth living in. And to be able to fight, we need guns. Lots of guns. Not only for ourselves, but also for the people who can't get those guns, but still want to fight.

But most people don't even bother with fighting against us. In fact, most people are forced in the position they are in now not just with guns, but also with food and their home. In fact, we are the opposition to such a system, the very same opposition you are talking about right now.
