I've noticed this as well and having looked carefully at yiffy art (at least the kind that isn't ultra porn), I've noticed a common theme: a bunch of people having a good time, feeling good about themselves and where they are, and feeling secure in their identity.

I think most people, but in particular yiffmeisters, are pretty far removed from those feelings in their every day real world lives, and they commission these art pieces for the purpose of projecting themselves onto these characters who are having casual sex, frolicking on the beach (in skimpy sexy clothing they could never wear themselves), or at a gym, or in a really nice looking house, or some other sort of scene of that nature.

Of course there's plenty of porn where characters are being abused and so on, but even then some of the actors in the scene have those contented expressions that seem to signify their contented security in their identity.
