Yeah, your team could be made of all R characters, but in HL content their skills probably wouldn't help as much as a team of SSRs with good skills would.
How hard a character hits really just depends on the weapon pool you have. I have an esports team for the element I main, but my weapon pool is shit so unless the enemy is debuffed my team hits like a wet noodle. (4-5K damage per member)

Actually, each island would need it's own source of water, otherwise it would not be possible to sustain life on them.

Presumably, rain still happens, and the clouds build up high enough in the sky for the islands to get rain coverage. I suppose a lot of the water would seep into the lower world, where it would evaporate and complete the cycle.

Maybe the lower world is just a sea of magma that vaporizes the water instantly when it touches it, and it would also make sense that it's not habitable and how no ship has ever returned from taking that journey.

I'd suggest using your phone browser to log on granblue, then from there go to the idol game(works in browser just like GBF) and just play it, there should be some guide earlier in the thread on what actually you have to do but it boils down to leveling up your account to level 40 or so(takes like 3 days), playing it will let you get the idols and draw tickets from the event campaign as well as the collab rewards that were in the game since its inception, which is like 3 more draw tickets and some pots)

So now that I have Airi Totoki, I'm at a fork in the road of progress. So far I've used Light, and it's been fairly powerful, but building the Light grid is absolutely killing me. My current grid is in pic related - I haven't seen a single Lumi Gun yet. Note that I haven't made any progress on the GW Bow, and have only hoarded materials so far, meaning I could very capably switch progress to a different GW Character. This puts my Skills at 18% Magna ATK Up, 18% Normal ATK Up.

My party is SR Rosamia/SR Ferry/SSR Summer La Fie, with SR Uzuki being capable of fitting in Rosamia's space fairly well enough with her charge generation.

Now that I have Airi, I can make a somewhat competent Earth team: SR Airi/SR Lamretta/SSR Arulumaya.

I've got about 600 EP in Berries and Balms to spend on this Magnafest - should I make the switch to Earth for the easier grid, or at this point should I just stick with the Light grind?

They're all SR, but they can all be uncapped 4 times, making them stronger than the standard SR statwise. Their kits are also solid, but pretty vanilla in terms of what they do.

Actually, they're only more powerful if they can be uncapped 5 times. Uncapping 4 times is the default for all SRs
(story characters have their 4th last star locked up until you progress in the story)

Medium atk and medium crit and enmity is a pretty neat combo once you skill them up.
That's pretty much 3 skills raising your damage in a single weapon.

I used to have Barawa SR in the 4th spot but the new idol has healing and -atk debuffs so I switched out..

use that weapon as main weapon it's not great but at least you can ougi for free at the start of any battle and still be able to keep the ougi in check

(enmity for fire is not that desirable especially if you will ever get perci)

also for the love of god replace rackamu with barawa

varuna builds are the cheapest among the whale mostly because fenrir bows , water fist and axe from beasts

if fenrir reruns you should murder that puppy a lot for her bows

But Barawa doesn't have a double-attack bonus or much in the way of getting more ougi other than the 10% buff when attacked.

barawa has a chance of dealing 9 M 999 K 999 damage and duration is bad just put barawa in forurth position if his ougi gain is so trash

bluff can be good or bad depending on the rng but for sure a better skill than duration (also in case mio at max level can be uncapped one time more)

You don't really need to whale to get great use out of Varuna, just use Chevalier axes (they have a normal big atk up skill) and the next time the Fenrir event rolls around grind out as many Fenrir bows as you can. There's lots of videos on youtube of people with non-whale varuna builds doing like 400k auto attacks.

Chev axes are pretty easy to get compared to guns/swords, if you're focusing on light you're likely going to get a ton of them on your journey to finish your light grid so you should just hold onto them instead of breaking/foddering them

I didn't get my first SSR until 40 or so, character that is, weapons aren't that hard to come by especially with eevnts like current one, for summons just do the rotating primals(Ifrit etc) and magnas

I can barely beat Hard raids. Some I can't do at all.

I only have three SR weapons, and the only SR characters I have are those awarded by the story. The rest are all R.

It's quite alright user, you start out patheticly weak but once you do get SSR characters or weapons you'll start getting stronger and thus getting more, of course don't hesitate to drop the game if you feel it's not worth it, but I had the same issue when I started
