Sure Monty had some great ideas (when to use and abuse momentum or lack thereof), but his pure autism is what saw it through.
This is the guy who bought special DVD players so he could go through movies frame-by-frame to see how they did the CGI.

If he knows what it takes to use his animations techniques like momentum. He could at least take advantage of those weapons in full effect, like using recoil and dancing around.
