Without a static you can't do Savage Alex and you'll have trouble farming Ex Primals. But other than that you're good. Since the only real reward is aesthetics and a feeling of triumph.

I dropped this game at some point during 2.0 because I was tired of trying to autistically scrounge enough money together to sustain a shitty small house at a nice location and failing. I will be coming back and making a new character literally only because welfare homes, apartments, are now being introduced. Is it really worth it? I probably could if I tried though, I've played vanilla wow private servers to 60 without enhanced rates and done MC.

Unless you want to make a lizard character you don't need to buy HW until you're level 50. Without HW at 50, you don't gain XP but you do if you own it. The two biggest English-speaking servers are Balmung and Gilgamesh. Go to Greg if you want PvE/raiding, go to Balmung if you want ERP you filthy fucking degenerate. The "official" FC is on Exodus, and since it's mostly filled with people at endgame you won't have to worry about someone outleveling since they're already there. If, for some godforsaken reason you want to play with a retarded PLD potato who has horrid facial hair, go to Odin and look up Felbot Lightbringer.

Players would be too personally invested in Ishgard after Heavensward, and thus be more likely to abandon the other GCs to fight for Haurchefant and Aymeric. There's barely any balance between the three as it is, throwing a fourth in would require reworking old PvP maps and then getting tons of complaints in because there's not enough people in the other GCs consistently queuing for PvP, thus making it even more difficult to get a match going.

I think they're considering making PvP be GC-agnostic, but who knows.

Does everything still share a cooldown? Even legions reduced skill complexity has some discrete cooldowns to make it interesting.

Most spells unless they are an instant cast. That said, you can lower your GCD by stacking skill speed. I have seen ninjas with a GCD a little under 1.5 seconds. The crux of the skill in this game is using your job's gimmick correctly. Keeping blood of the dragon up on dragoon, knowing when to use fire 4 and endochain, switching between the enemy's flank and rear on monk, ect.

There's a single skill which has its own special weirdness, Empyreal Arrow for Bard. It's technically a weaponskill, but it's not on the GCD, and its has its own special recast timer which is lowered by stacking Skill Speed. It's honestly a mess though and they need to fix bard. Some jobs like SMN use a decent amount of damage-dealing off-GCDs.

as long as one of you is a healer you can do 1-6 for sure but past that most of the coils require people for mechanics

Look, man. It's not my fucking fault the tank waits half a millennia between each pull. I'm not getting any younger, and neither is my Raging Strikes.

Unless someone is afk or you are at a boss, the tank should be constantly pulling if not pulling half the zone to aoe down. What is the point in doing it one at a time? I am happy when ranged classes are proactive like that when I play on my tanks, saves me time from having to run up into range with shield toss or lalafell throw.

Some tanks like playing it safe for whatever reason, but I usually don't care how fast they go as long as I get to keep my stacks.

What are the chances of being able to get on Balmong once the servers come up?

That is the reason to go fast. I generally run with a blm and/or monk and I like to keep them 100% busy so things die as fast as possible.
