It looks like PewTube is being developed from scratch with almost no focus on the eceleb part. Likes/upboats and stupid shit like that doesn't exist. The comments are pretty damn basic as well- so the focus seems to almost entirely on the quality/virility of the content, not the creator or the channel necessarily.

Leaving the fact that this is a straight up Youtube clone with no innovation, the guy who runs the site is a lolcow, Craig Brittain. People were fucking with him yesterday and he kept resetting the viewer count on a video about him because it was the #1 most viewed, and blocking anyone on Twitter who mentioned his name. Craig is noteworthy for vaporware digital projects that go nowhere. I would not even trust him with my IP.
DTube at least tries something different, but it's such a terrible solution that it really cannot be recommended. Steemit is garbage, IPFS is placed front and center but is hardly utilized, and it relies upon a third party you have to pay in cryptocurrency to keep videos hosted.
I have gripes with Bitchute but I have to admit it's the best solution at this point in time, only because it keeps its ambitions modest. They know it's just Youtube but slightly decentralized to keep hosting costs down when it scales up, and WebTorrent largely accomplishes that. However, nobody is going to help beyond the bare minimum if they don't get paid to help.
