Mass Effect Andromeda

The only reason they've avoided being Westwood'ed so far is that ME & DA have been successful franchises in genres that are hugely popular. Can't say that about strategy games, which have always been niche.

In the past few years though, Bioware has seen its founders leave/been forced out, enormous portions of staff leave (look at the credits of ME1 vs ME3) and Andromeda being handed over to a new Canada team headed up by a massive racist asshole. He will probably be asked to resign, but word has been getting out about fights at the studio over how development is progressing.

The DA series underperformed after the first game, both DA2 and Inquisition sold less than Origins. Mass Effect 3 sold pretty well but I doubt Andromeda will due to both how many people still remember the third game and the development issues that point to the game being a trainwreck. If MEA does indeed flop I think EA might "reorganise" the Bioware studios.

They fucked that up after the first game. The reason they appeared as female is because in order for them to be visually depicted at all they had to have a definite form, so to Commander Shepard that form is what he or she would personally consider to be the most attractive (since the playerbase is largely heterosexual males anyways). But the point is that they only appear exactly as they do to Shepard, and if you asked someone else to describe their appearance you'd get something different. In ME2 there are neon outlines of Asari with titties and all on signs which goes against their whole point in the first place because it wouldn't convey "Asari" to anyone who doesn't like traditionally attractive human females.

I've finally found another person that also hates KOTOR 1. The only reason that people like it is because it was the first RPG that was filled to the brim with voice acting and cutscenes and the people that like it are casuals since they are too casual to understand the appeal of actual RPGs that aren't just movies with shitty gameplay in between. And that kind of game would be fine in my eyes if the writing was actually good, but it wasn't. The plot twist was neat but it didn't really make any sense. If you want a story that is full of crazy twists that might not make too much sense under a microscope go play Danganronpa and see it done properly. If you want actual good writing in a Star Wars setting then play KOTOR 2. KOTOR 1 just has nothing going for it other than a couple minor parts that other games do far better.

I think you're reaching, user. The reason people here cared so much about the TW3 downgrade is because they felt that they trusted CDPR. They didn't expect a downgrade from them of all companies since they seemed so pro consumer and PC focused which made them feel betrayed. I say them because I've hated these games since the first one but I did respect CDPR to some extent. Noone here ever gave a shit about the NMS devs so while everyone here might hate them there's no need to make a point about it. That's another factor too, many people came to the defense of CDPR even on this board and even more still admit that it's a good game (it's actually garbage though and only casuals like it). If there is disagreement then people will keep fighting and shitting on it. There's no disagreement about NMS, it is universally seen as garbage.

Now you might be asking why Fallout 4 hate threads lasted so long because it's universally seen as shit too. Unlike NMS, Bethesda and the Fallout franchise both have a history that was at some point widely loved around here. Most people here think that Morrowind is one of the best games of all time, at least in terms of writing. Most people here also really like Fallout 1, 2, and NV. Fallout 4 channeled the betrayal from anyone who liked Fallout or Morrowind and hated AAA casual gaming, and the leaks that sparked the Boston Salt Parties certainly helped too.
