Unfortunately, I don't know any anons. Recently relocated to Charlotte though and was in the thread about the meet-up, but I didn't want to get baited into an letter agency's trap. I am interested in the communication methods you listed in your OP. Seems like a fun and relatively easy way to communicate (and subsequently get to know strangers from the internet). I'd be very interested in getting a group together in Charlotte where members would meet monthly or something to give us the opportunity to discuss politics, literature, et cetera. This would be in the hope that friendships were formed and members would go shooting, hunting, fishing, or something similar together in their free time.

I understand your concern, but since most of the carolinas is landlocked, and since we'd be doing qrp comms for opsec, we'd be impossible to trace. The thing with license free bands is that you always have to worry if some neet is listening into comms randomly and give us away. You over estimate the use of RF since, unless you live by a dock, 88 is used mainly between ships to aid navigation. Otherwise, its like running a stop sign in the middle of nowhere. I will include cb ch 14 and MURS as back up in the next OP though, but since I personally don't have a cb rig it will be quiet until we get anons using it.
As points out, looking into it, Rescue 21 is a digital mode running on specific freqs. Why the fuck would it monitor analog fm comms on the "on the way" intership channel? Even with coastal repeaters, why would they point the antennas inland for marine distress signals?
