Japan consists of very small islands and a few not-so-small islands. They're overpopulated as it is, considering. Plus, a decreasing population means that there will be a larger demand for labor, meaning less unemployment. Not only that, but there will be more room for everybody. Less people means communities will be closer, which means less crime (as if the crime rate couldn't get any lower). I could go on, but do you see what I am saying? There is no way that Japanese people will fade out. They're pretty tight-knit, and being bred out is very, very unlikely at best.

We don't need to. Large populations are not an inherent good. The only reason we need to worry about our own birthrates is because we're sharing our countries with hostile and fertile foreigners, Japan doesn't have that issue.

The only serious short-term worry with a shrinking population is taking care of the elderly. That actually does require some thought and effort to figure out, but it can and will be done.

Getting organisms to reproduce is one of the easiest problems for natural selection to solve. In a few generations, the majority of the Japanese population will be descended from the segments of the current population that had the most kids, and will inherit the behavioral traits that caused that. Iterate for a few more generations and the problem will be completely solved. This "doomsday clock" shit is an absurdity that completely ignores this effect.
