It's worth noting that the game is still in alpha and it's scheduled to launch in September. Almost everything is placeholder or broken, and the community has so little faith in the game at this point that the game is actually unplayable at night because there are too few players to find a match. Nobody is excited or hyped, and the devs are catering exclusively to the kind of person that spends more time on the forums than in the game rabidly attacking anyone who doesn't love this 4/10 game.

This game actually has half as many active players as Space Marine. The levels aren't designed for the scale of combat they want, the controls aren't as well-tuned, and there are significantly less options currently in the game in comparison to Space Marine. If you didn't like Space Marine, this game is slightly more of the same, but with much less polish.

More match types, disabled if you're thrown out the ring or can't move for 10 seconds, their own robots roaming in corners, and better arena hazards (a pit, a large weight dropped on the robot, a giant flipper, flames, etc).

Yeah more and better arena hazards and the huge house robots were the best.

We have barely more traffic then normally, a few months ago we would get 2 webm threads a day because those got spammed to bumplimit without hours.

Also this shit places had a lot less users in the last months due to several crap events and the site being broken for weeks. We had a small exodus, before that this place was broken several times. Like we had a entire week in which people had a hard time uploading files above 1.5mb. Then there was this week in which you got a error message every time you tried to make a post, and if you were unlucky your post got added like 3 times totally ignoring the spam filter that would normally catch duplicated posts.

They're going to move the founder server update to the early access server, release the 30th patch that overhauls the way melee works, proclaim that update a beta, and then the game is officially out for reviews, first impressions, and general consumption.

I mean, sure, with another two years, they'd actually make something good. But they don't have two years. They have two months. That's sixty days. They can try to patch it in over time, but hoping for that is blatantly ignoring that the game will be down to 50 players before 2017, and a few months later, the game is going to be dropped due to an "uncertain future".

Source: literally every single game that went retail on the promise that it'd be good years later.
