Imageboard culture within culture at large

This is going to be a long post. First of all, I'd like to bring out some points from My Posting Career's PLEASUREMAN:

tl;dr head over to MPC and read the thread in full. Actually, the very phenomenon of TLDRs is linked to the problem in question.

So, where do imageboards stand in all this? I think user is a bit paradoxical here (but it's no more paradoxical than decentralized anonymous hive mind advancing goals of Fascism and National Socialism) - imageboards are primarily for, well, images.

However, it's easy to observe that your average user is much more eloquent and throughout with his posts than retarded millenials who populate normiesphere. My hypothesis is that while Internet at large has been subjected to "visualization" - loads of flashy colours, "curvy" design, ads and general pozz - imageboard style remained throughly simplistic, and our primary means of communication is text.

In that sense, 75 character rule is absolutely great. It encourages giving at least a bit of thought before posting. I propose to expand it to 75 characters of original text (ironically, my own OP would be not good enough then)

It's quite possible that the 'visual culture' is the reason why memes work. We condense a message to a one catchy picture, and Joe Average deals with too much sensory overload daily in order to analyze it properly.

In a sense, this is similar to methods described by R. (((Cialdini))) in "Pre-Suation". With the pressure of modern life, people take shortcuts instead of trying to think through - because, let's face it, in a modern, scaled-up society, processing all the garbage input would take all our brainpower and probably drive us insane.

Jews know that very well, and were using memetics long before we discovered them.

One theme not touched in the original thread by PMAN is deterioration of language.

As more perceptive anons should have spotted, I am not a native English speaker. However, while trawling muddy waters of a normiesphere, I observed hundreds upon hundreds of teenagers as well as grown men (don't even get me started on women), who are American, Australian, or British-born Whites who were barely literate in their own language!

Because literacy is entwined with literature. It's not through memorizing idiotic rules presented by dumb women in elementary school one does learn his language and his culture, but through consuming literary works of his ancestors. I am not sure if anybody on the Right examined the phenomena properly.

In conclusion of this post, I'd like to say that same phenomena plagues my native Eastern European country. Retarded millenials have extremely limited vocabulary, make mistakes I wouldn't make when I was 8 years old, and often use loanwords, creating an abomination known as 'Runglish'.

Overall, I would like to hear user's thoughts on this phenomenon. I believe it has a lot to do with degeneracy that surrounds us - instant gratification culture leads to (((consumerism))), perfect for (((people))) in control of (((The Economy))).

Like many societal evils, it's product of the Jews meddling in our countries to pursue their own interests at the expense of native population; however, when you see a numale glued to his phone screen, there is not a Jew in his life personally commanding him to check his twitter feed every 30 seconds or so.

In a true paradoxical fashion, we should create memes, spreading awareness of the visual culture and it's ails.

Nigger don't copy paste your shit here if you can't even get your arrows right.

Forgive me, I haven't posted in a while. And when I do, I usually don't greentext.

Yeah there is. It's the dopamine jew. The kike builds the framework of the dopamine trap in which a person once caught keeps spinning the hamster wheel. Be it porn, videogames, twitter, drugs, whatever. The kike only exploits them for his own gain, advertises them among the goyim and keeps his own people free from it. See the rampant agenda of legalizing drugs, banning "slut shaming" etc.

It's not a culture it's simply a format. Short, concise statements are packing the biggest punch vs long winded texts with little essence (like yours).

Wrong they get it because it's true. What the fuck are you even talking about. We win because we are speaking the words that many people deep down feel but are too afraid to say.

Our language is evolving toward a logographic/pictographic form. Styles of written communication are often based in the medium being used. Cuneiform only makes sense when you consider the medium is wet clay imprinted with reeds. Germanic runes were sharp and angular because they were carved into wood/rock. Many south asian writing forms use lots of curves and few angles, because they were meant to be written on banana leaves that would tear if you used sharp angles.

Regardless of writing format, one of the biggest barriers to complexity was the fact that people had to physically create these characters by hand. Thus, efficiency was preferred over making more complex and descriptive images. And that's how you end up getting the more abstract logographs seen in various ancient/current languages, which eventually evolved into the characters we now use in, say, latin alphabets.

But with the internet, this issue of complexity no longer exists. You can have a folder of thousands of memes, reaction images, and whatever else you need to convey or supplement a thought you're trying to convey. It adds an entirely new layer of meaning to our communication. So much more can be expressed through memes as units of meaning.

So, you're proposing a purely memetics-based language?

Interesting. However, if you look at
Information is still conveyed by text.

While a lot of PMAN's post are grumpy all cuckservative ramblings, deterioration of language is something that should be taken seriously. As we are heading into another Dark (literally dark) Age, much likes monks of early medieval Ireland, somebody should conserve literary treasures of the current civilization.

No, not as a total replacement. More like another layer of communication. Depending on the circumstances, you convey meaning with just text, or just a wordless meme, or a combination.

An esoteric symbolism of our own, complete with a mystery religion (I find lack of dubs in this thread disturbing. Kek must be displeased with my faggotry, the only dubs I'd been granted were for humility and admitting my own failings)

Kek tells us you are onto something, but missing crucial details.

Look at this newfag

Good memes convey multiple meanings at multiple levels, often placing many highly condensed ideas juxtaposed in a concentrated package of information.
That can also often be hilarious as well as enlightening.
They are perfect for rapid communication, and I personally find other forms too slow at this point.
For example, I cannot watch tv anymore, even if it wasn't pozzed to hell, the pace is glacial, my brain having adapted to much faster information input thanks to the internet and the chans in particular.
Also worth noting is that the subconscious mind is said to communicate entirely in images
I consider anonymous chans to be the subconscious of the human race on the internet, and just as the subconscious mind moves so fast it almost defies physics, they move and spread ideas faster than any convention media because they are less restricted and higher energy.
And I see /pol as the outpouring of our racial subconscious, our racial memory, our very DNA at the speed of thought.
Just like our individual minds, /pol is fast, weird, a bit autistic and very adept at making previously unimagined combinations.
I think we also have a good balance between the old and the new, the literary and the visual, a better balance in fact than any other group I can think of.

I just want to remind that Nips are honorary Aryan. They're allies of Hitler and invented imageboards.

Weaboos are still cancerous though.

Interesting that asian languages are generally pictorial, I wonder if that had a part in their invention of imageboards.

Will read OP

tfw you've gone so far right you stop believing in any concept of personal accountability

This implies to me we're essentially going to see a memetics based pictograph element added to our language.
In a way we already have this in the form emoticons/smileys which are now firmly embedded in our language as a means to express emotion plainly in a textual format.

Horse shoe theory is bullshit because it makes the false assumption that there is only left and right. Worse it assumes that fascism and libertarianism are both on the right and thus the same thing.

So basically with anonymity and imageposting we've become a more advanced/evolved society than anything in the past while normalfags have regressed?

Requesting that Zeon/user newtypes postcap.

Liberals do think this is reality, though. They think Ron Paul and Brietbart are "Nazis". Everything to the right of pink haired nigger tyranny is called a Nazi anymore.

A people raised on lies cannot be expected to have enough legitimate information to make responsible choices.

Tranny* not tyranny

It also makes the false assumption that there's such a thing as "center". In reality, center just means whatever the status quo is, as if the current status quo is always the "right" option. If your typical "centrist" from 2017 went back even 100 years, everyone would look at you like you were fucking crazy.

There's no such thing as "center"

tyranny works too.

Tyranny is still pretty accurate, though.

Yes, exactly. Think of your picture folder as a series of thousands of logograms with which you either convey or supplement meaning to a post. We are developing a new branch of writing/linguistics.

Honestly the french revolution was a mistake. Right was originally meant to mean the status quo and left was for "progress".

However we're "right-wing" and we're among the weirdest fuckers to ever live.

Actually there's nothing new about this.
Pictographic languages have existed before. Mixed alphabet/pictograph languages have existed.

We're just putting a modern spin on it.

Yeah but the reaction images combined with text basically allow us to simulate body language in IRL conversation, but on a mass scale.

Maybe that's part of the reason why anons feel like they have such close bonds even without knowing each other

Fucking wew

Most definitions of right vs left wing are utter bullshit. For fucks sake, nobody can even agree on whether national socialism is "far right" or "centrist authoritarian".

I just look at it like this: Right-wing stands for natural hierarchy, whereas left-wing stands for abolishment of hierarchy and the triumph of egalitarianism.

I know logograms exist. My original point is that our memes are like a highly evolved form of logogram. They don't just convey a single word. They can convey an entire paragraph of information. The point being that image memes are like advanced logograms because they're not held back by the need for efficiency.

This sooo much more than body language.
We are conveying massive amounts of information to each other very quickly. It's more than just a paragraph, we're conveying entire concepts to each other in excruciating clarity.

Seriously does nobody have that newtype postgrab?
It was on my busted hard drive or I'd post it myself.

Does anyone else find it interesting that anons barely ever abbreviate words unless it's memespeak? The only time we want to abbreviate words is ironic laziness, cutsey sound effects, or just sounding retarded.

We never actually abbreviate out of laziness alone.

It is a curious thing.
But then consider that we have a bit of time and generally ready access to a keyboard.
That doesn't encourage you to engage in such abbreviation and shorthand.

Honestly what I really want more than anything is an independent user state.

Just be free of normalfag bullshit while having the ability to control our own destiny.

A promised chan on earth?
Shitposting policy?
At-43 Therians when?

It's among the best feels when you make posts that people sceencap and remember months and years later.

There is no feeling quite like it.
You have obtained a fleeting immortality

Is there anything else like that webm?

It's kinda catchy.

Aye, that's all I ever wanted.

I have no idea what it even is

What would an Outer Holla Forums even look like?
How would we organise such a thing?

Think Rhodesia, but in the timeline where we won

Rhodesia was your pretty typical garden variety social democratic state.
Doesn't exactly scream Outer Holla Forums to me.

Aye, aye, we've found the sort of glory formerly reserved for the writers of hymms or the blind bards. We hear our tune far from our place of writing, and the doubt we had at its birth of the merit it might hold vanishes. By echo or refraction we know we shot out a beam of true good. We have entered canon.

By virtue of others' prayer like repetition we may call ourselves the writers of the faceless gospel, the priests of the temple of the hill that the whole world may witness, the shamans who speak the olde songs that are made relevant with the foretold signs.

Feels good man.

95% of the important content on an imageboard is text.

Thanks for the confirmation, Kek.

...

Excellent thread, I can see why it was anchored. is why I love this place; user is eternal.

This. I can not do passive "entertainment" at all. The only way I can even stand purely passive media is if there lots of thought and discussion around it, else I can feel my awareness decaying.

I think it's a respect for the language, as part of our striving for higher order and purity.

Every time I see this post now, and when inspired, I decide to pour a little bit of my energy and consciousness into manifesting this. For the good of all the anons.

5 star post user, poignant and inspiring.

Witnessed
Text is an easier germ and thus more shall sprout. As the idea matures it often evolves into or may join with other memes of a more visual nature. The reverse is kinda also true though when we've discovered how our memes actually have ancient mythic (text) origins. So I think it goes back and forth as society forgets truth and remembers and recreates.

People don't work by magic; there are underlying physical principles that explain our decision-making. Dopamine is a known facilitator of addictive behavior. One can withstand its effects, to a degree, but that doesn't obviate the fact that one can make solid predictions about people's thinking and behavior based on the changes in dopamine levels that certain activities and substances induce.

"Personal accountability" adds nothing to the picture; it's just used to express a demand that people act a certain way, no matter what. That might be a useful tool in interpersonal relationships and in the legal system, but it explains absolutely nothing about people's actual behavior.

Free will is an incoherent proposition because it implies that there is no underlying mechanism to a process. When people say "I decided X freely", they basically mean "there is no physical process by which I decided X". This is false. It would even be false if you were a dualist who believed in non-material souls - for even souls would have to follow some mechanistic principles. Proposing a soul simply passes the buck.

What is actually the case is that people do cannot inspect the process by which they arrived at the decision to do X, and therefore, they think there's no process. The underlying assumption is that you have full access to the workings of your own mind and, if you can't see something going on there, it didn't go on at all. This is false. If I pump you full with adrenalin, you will go berserk. If I pump you full with dopamine, you will start to hallucinate and turn into an incoherent mess. If I pump you full with GABA, you will show social disinhibition and then fall unconscious. Where's muh free will there? Nowhere. "Free will" is a legal fiction employed to keep people in line. It is useful for that purpose, but it has no truth-content.

At least the mods unarchored it.

For fucks sake at least read the thread before making a snap decision to anchor it.

Then why are some people obese and some aren't, are you saying fat is genetic?

and captured

Really gets the Almonds rolling.
You're free to question the will of KEK, but the frog likes to fuck with people in the attempt that they/you may question reality, and be better off for it.
As always; OP is a faggot. Don't make it personal. Just another avenue for the lulz.
Learn to green text faggot.

Yes. This can be proven scientifically. We are a very advanced culture, among the most elite visible to normies. Where normies rely almost exclusively on their own shoddy evaluation of a person's character - which will be based on factors such as beauty, charisma, and other inessential factors - anons only trade information on the basis of the value of that information itself. Information which anons evaluate as worthwhile will be automatically promoted, even if it happened to be stated by someone who most society would think of as a loser. Normies won't promote a good idea unless it came from their idol, which drastically limits their ability to learn and incorporate new information about the world. We are like a black hole moving through space, less disturbed by what we come in contact and more disturbing to it.

If 8/pol/ anons were to move back to 4chan en masse, we would completely overwhelm the board's culture despite being far outnumbered, just in virtue of the consistency and density of our culture. We are being groomed as the vital forces of the Hyper War.

Heiled!

This. 19th century statutes featured walls of text that ran on for 50 pages. But now laws can't go on for 10 words without beginning a new clause.

Text is an image.

This is a rather specious argument, because, although language has deteriorated, the inverse is true for legalese which has exacerbated "supernumerarily" today with its opaque, polysyllabic jargon; moreover, a new clause is not equivalent to a new sentence— an independent clause is a sentence but not all clauses are independent. For example, my first sentence changed clauses at the ninth word, then immediately after at the tenth and finally at the twentieth.

Let's be real here, imageboard culture is too bizarre and edgy for the average normalfag to understand and pick up on

And certainly the subtleties are lost to them, at least until they become one of us.

Anybody have any idea what English will look like after it stabilizes again?
I do believe ours is a new Latin, bound to splinter, but into what exactly? I suppose we're entering the 'vulgar English' stage, and from hence the dialects once submerged will reassert their differences. Now that nation-wide radio and news is not so readily consumed the cultural hegemony is dissolving. Our binding accents are no longer binding us togetger.

...

This is one thing that TRSodomites and Alt-lite fags will never understand about us: They come here, whine about PR, bitch about us using anime and other shit but continue to think that we are "a part of them" and that we have to get normalfags to be a part of us, they don't know jack shit about what makes the Internet hate machine tick

Interestingly, before I arrived at imageboards chans, I had the anonymous mindset of ignoring names and avatars and reading and weighing the content of their comments/posts.

Well, American English used to be anchored to our ancestors reading to their children the King James Bible which ossified American English, but because we've cut the rope to that anchor, we'll likely diverge and develop uniquely as the dialects of British English did since Shakespeare's time. Taking into consideration, social media and phones, there's no other place but down and degeneration, I'm afraid and saddened to say. There's precedence that adjectives will be a thing of the past, barring the most colloquial/vulgar ones, superseded by nouns acting as adjectives (nominal modifiers). Another thing of note, which is evidenced here and elsewhere, is that English will likely return to its more Germanic roots (I don't for sure if Anglo-Saxon was agglutinative, but I'm surmising that it did because it was Germanic, a possibly spurious assumption) or, at least, begin to resemble German in agglutination, i.e., putting two words together, e.g., Lugenpresse, Sonnenrad, imageboard, etc.

When the American Empire does collapse, a parallel to Latin is highly plausible as English, like Latin of its day, is the lingua franca. You might find new hybridized languages with English and whatever native tongue with which it miscegenated, as Spanish, Portuguese, and French arose. However, it's difficult to say what impact modern technology will have on that development; I personally think it'll hamper it.

Language is power, memeticism is applied linguistics, ergo we are now cultivating the influence and metaphysical power inherent in language via the cultivation of our own creation.

Observed.
I as well. I would always read the comment before the name on everything I did. IRL I would always remember a person (as a face, being, and essence) but rarely their name. Such a thing just seemed unimportant, taking the time to care who said what, and if the who did matter then chances where the content didn't (often ego scuffles or the like).

To be honest I've started noticing myself, unconsciously, when I type putting words together when according to the times we're currently in they are separate (though sometimes I'll also conjoin them as well to emphasize things, at-one-ment, dis-ease, etc.)

It's not even complicated:
And so memes were born.
