With MMfA and David Brock declaring open war against Sean Hannity by trying to get his advertisers pulled, I feel I should mention and bring up a group that has been gaining a lot of attention and traction in the liberal atmosphere. The group goes by the name Sleeping Giants, and their main mission is to basically focus on anything related to the right and force ably get their advertisers pulled. The main object of their hatred and scorn has been for the most part centered on Breitbart, but now it seems they're hinting at going after Hannity as well.
There is next to nothing on who exactly founded Sleeping Giants. All we are told is that they popped up sometime after the election and made it a mission to go after right wing media sites at all costs. And unfortunately they are very good at it. Its clear based on their Facebook posts and tweets that they are highly coordinated, persistent, and apparently have enough funding to be able to get several branches operating in Europe.
When I was digging around about them last night in this thread there was one person that seemingly struck out: A man named Britton Taylor. Apparently this guy started a go fund me page in order to get a billboard put up in Seattle that basically tells Amazon to stop advertising on Breitbart. Remarkably in only 24 hours they easily raised the $8,000 they needed. So when I started digging into Mr. Taylor, who apparently is very close with Sleeping Giants, I found out that he happens to be the Group Strategy Director at Wieden+Kennedy, one of the largest independent advertising companies in the world. Their resume includes everyone from Nike, Coke-Cola and even Old Spice.
Now here is what got me thinking, why would someone like Britton, a man who most likely makes a lot of money at a major advertising company, want to work so closely with a group that is determined to strip advertising away from right wing websites and beyond?
As I went a little further last night, I found Britton's Medium's account archive.is/gS1hm
And, guess who else had a Medium account? None other than Sleeping Giants themselves: archive.is/pFweT
And if you happen to notice, many of the followers who follow SG all work for either advertising companies or are in some kind of start up journalist thing. Its lead me to conclude something: Sleeping Giants isn't just so grassroots movement. It was founded by a collection of people who work in major advertising agencies and communication groups who are all libtards.
Now my biggest question still remains: Why exactly would they do this? Why would people in the advertising world want to take down sites they don't like? And the biggest question, are the higher ups even aware of what these people are involved in? But still, I feel like we need to find out two things:
1. Who exactly founded Sleeping Giants?
&
2. Have they been in constant communications with Media Matters and David Brock? Someone is funding these guys, someone with a lot of money
Nope, but thanks for sharing this. No wonder they're so secretive, and it just confirms my suspicions even more that Sleeping Giants is being ran and lead by high ranking people inside major advertising agencies. Too bad for them they just couldn't' help bragging about how great Britton Taylor is. I don't think Britton is a founder or co-founder, but I do believe he knows exactly who they are.
Currently digging into his twitter account trying to find what groups he's currently in.
