I've been playing modern TF2 and while it's still not where it use to be it's alot better after all the community updates and opening of the F2P floodgate, people still wear hats but have totally ignored the stupider looking hats and stupid looking paint so the game somewhat resembles the impeccable art style and color direction it launch with. They added being able to pick up other class weapons and players drop health and ammo which is so god damn stupid I can't wrap my head around why they'd do something like that. Other than that it's pretty fun to play when you have a game that's not totally one sided and steam rolled within a minute.

The snipers SMG in the image confused me because I've never seen it before, and I thought it was them hinting at a new weapon. Turns out it's just the regular SMG with the 'Decorated' skin and whoever put the image together fucked it up and placed the magazine sideways into the well.

For me it was the fact that picking a server and english preference did nothing to stop Turkroaches and russian scum to play with me on EU west and speak in their languages like they own the place, and the fact that an average game takes like a fucking hour to finish.

I like overwatch's idea of heros with unique abilities instead of classes and then having to grind weapons for that class. I haven't played it yet though.

I feel like overwatch is more fun since theres more variety in character abilities, but TF2's maps are way better, and is better balanced.

Claustrophobic maps are incredibly hard to make for tf2. With multiple classes heavily depending on vertical mobility, the ability to strafe/ circle an enemy, and the huge amount of AOE the game has; you're only going to see tight areas at designated choke points and final capture points.

There's a reason why Blizzard is making massive changes to season 2 of Overwatch. A lot of the stuff right now, like the coin toss is getting removed. Jeff admitted they are still working on getting competitive mode just right.

They only drop health if you kill a Heavy with his sandvich in his hand and you walk over it, the ammo kit being dropped is because you used to be able to walk over dropped enemy weapons to fill your own ammo and enemies dropping an ammo kit is so you can pick up their weapons without accidentally adding it to your ammo count.

It was 10/10 solid up until the scout update. Then it started going slightly downhill when they began including community made maps, but otherwise good content overall.

I don't understand why people think matchmaking systems in a PC FPS, ESPECIALLY for non-competitive games, is a good idea.

Like in CS:GO I could understand if there was only a built-in 5vs5 matchup system since that's how the game is supposed to be played, but they don't even have that, let alone that being the form of MM.

I play Dota 2 every once and awhile with friends, it's pretty fun and the main reason I don't play more is that there's too much pressure to use your time and resources efficiently at all times. I can only really play heroes like Death Prophet that aren't don't have to make big plays like Enigma, don't have to do support stuff like keeping wards up, and don't have to be super efficient with farming like a normal carry since all you gotta do is pushpushpush.

I think the game is fun because there is no single game I can think of that has both more tactical depth, tight balance, and requirement for effective teamwork all at the same time. Sure those categories are beat individually by quite a few games, but if you can name one that does all three better then please recommend it to me. I also think that Holla Forums only hates it because it's popular and many people here really are too casual for it. Yes I know that lots of casuals play it quite a bit, but they only can do so because they were dedicated enough to learn it properly. It isn't a game for everyone but it also isn't nearly as terrible as this place makes it out to be.

League of Legends is though that shit is straight garbage.
