Nah, it connects both positive and ground. Potential would go directly from one to the next with almost no current going through you. An actual suicide device would have only one prong and you stick that prong in the positive node and complete the circuit yourself.

Neutral is ground – it's ground connected to the power plant. The third plug you're thinking of commonly called ground is actually just a failsafe which allows devices to have a complete circuit even if the return path to the power plant is severed.

Nope, the "shortest" path is still the copper wire short circuit. Electricity goes not on the shortest path, it goes on the path of least resistance. Copper wires have very low resistance. Skin and bone and muscle on the other hand has quite high resistance. As a result electricity is only going to go through an individual if that is the only path to ground.

Also, for most people (fully grown and without heart problems) the wall outlet doesn't have enough power to actually kill you. It'd hurt like fuck, but you'd (probably) live. A dryer plug (which goes from +120V to -120V rather than +120V to 0V) could possibly though.

As an aside, with regards to the 'ground' plug you can actually cut the thing off on your appliances and they'd still work. Go test it if you don't believe me. It's definitely less safe, but still perfectly functional.

From personal experience, I once accidentally grabbed the electrical wiring to an outlet that was outside without turning off the power to the house and experienced a jolt which caused me to pull away instantly and then had some tingling afterwards. Wouldn't describe it as painful but wouldn't recommend it.

Got 240vdc a few times, it causes spasms and sucks and hurts like fuck.

I think that it could work if you split that in two and glue it back with an electric isolation, so that your finger is the only way through (or best way through, let's not be autistic about it).

Although I think it would fry your finger and nothing else, since not passing through your wrist is more efficient than going through the rest of your body for unknown reasons.

Then it would just give you an electrical burn on your finger, because that's where most of the current is flowing.
