I was into Gold Rush for the first few seasons for what a complete shit show it was. I have a question though, how do these guys get paid for appearing on hit tv shows? I have a hard time buying into all the drama that we have to dig this gold/catch these crabs/chop down these trees/pick junk for hipsters out of some guys basement or else we don't get paid. How is it they're not getting bigger checks from Discovery than whatever they make doing their job?

The only discovery kino is Deadliest Catch. Pawns, auctions and gold can be faked, now you can't fake a carb horde.

Obviously they still faked some drama, and editing can make things seem different from what they were, but at least there is some truth to it.
