The main issue is money and production output.
The USA couldn't afford a prolonged war with a comparable power.
Nor would it be able to replace vehicle, war machine or ship losses.
If it lost say a squadron of F22s. It would be years before it could replace them even if it rushed the order as much as possible.
It would also have difficulty replacing some of its more expensive and difficult to produce munitions especially in the missiles category.

A "real" war against a comparable power would probably blow through equipment of equal value to the entire annual US military budget in a few months.
Now imagine that for a few years.

Then you have production shortfalls. The companies who manufacture the USAs super expensive war machines couldn't expand production to meet demand. They lack the facilities and the staff. In more than a few cases they couldn't restart production on equipment the US military uses even if they wanted to.

So long as they fight a quick war or one where they're unlikely to take serious equipment/war machine losses. Then they're fine.
But otherwise the USA is fucked

You're basing that on non-war output. I don't know myself, but what exactly would be the U.S. Industrial war capacity/production during a total war scenario? We are the country that used to push out a bomber every hour during ww2, it's not unreasonable to think we could get our production back up to similar levels.

Bear in mind you're talking about comparatively simple aircraft to aircraft composed of way more components and materials, with a far more diverse list of suppliers.

And materials that aren't available inside the USA.

Lets not also forget that during WW2 the USA's production capacity, home populace and supply lines were completely unmolested. Zero damage and no enemy force had the ability to target them.

The manufacturer destroyed a number of the manufacturing tools and can't reproduce them.
The F15 can't be produced anymore at all. The tools and templates are all gone.
The F16 ones still exist though and are still being used.

Even then there'd be a lot of difficulty in ramping up production. Facilities would need to be built and workers trained.
