I loved the game, but fuck me does it fall into an uncanny, shitty place between game and VN.
It wants me to get invested, but never gives you any information or control, just some arbitrary influence over the epilogue pieces.
I really wish there was an option or route or something that went full Papers, Please. with the bartending minigame. I can appreciate cozy, but this could've been so much more.

Well, shit. So much for the third playthrough.
I guess the third can be all the 'get people drunk and fuck around' bits.

You can get all of them in one run? Do you need to pay all your bills for that to happen?

Just make sure you don't miss the apartment rent.

You can miss one of the first two, but guarantees Jill gets distracted at work, disabling her from hinting at giving alternative drink orders for certain patrons (which can affect you getting character endings).

I got the homeless epilogue on my first playthrough. That's when you miss the bill for the apartment.
I payed all my debts on the 2nd run, nailed all the flags and such so I guess you can get all the endings, minus the homeless one, all on one run.

First half of the game was great, and overall there wasn't a single bad character as I see it.

I even overlooked the gay shit since it wasn't on the nose, it felt very regular, same as for danger/u/ being a trope reversal of sorts. Not too many forced mainstream maymays, but after trying for another ending I get stuck with this cat-ear bitch who wants a drink "for a friend" and I can't figure it out, and you can't save during a bartending session so it's just frustrating to go through text, make the first drink and then try again and reload.

The ending I got with the little sister, I don't even know, that was pure shit. I think the writers at some point forgot they were writing characters with dialogue, instead they start huge monologues probably supposed to make you cry or something, but it misses the mark.

The music is mostly fantastic, would recommend a listen, sets the mood, the dogs were great, robot whore was pretty great and the whole Lilim thing was fun. A decent world they've built, now if they made something more worthwhile with it than some lesbian relationship drama.

Yeah, unfortunately you have to pay attention to the small off-handed comments people make about drinks because they come up later. I'm pretty sure the "for a friend" drink is a Piano Man, whose creator made it in memory of a dead buddy.

You're totally right about the ending though, pretty much killed my desire to play again for the other flags. I desperately wanted focus on other characters but I had to slog through all this stuff about the MC I could have easily pieced together myself.

Sounds a bit interesting, I liked Virgilio a lot.

Decent game. Really fucking great atmosphere, great music and visuals, writing gets sketchy at times which is a shame for a VN. I wasn't planning on doing a second playthrough, but this thread makes it sound more interesting than I assumed. Still not rereading a linear VN so soon. Maybe in a month or so. I woukd like to get comfy again.
Does the "multiple endings" thing come off to anyone else as making the game sound bigger than it is? Feels like it implies multiple scenarios, especially in the context of a VN. But they're just epilogues you may or may not get depending solely on a couple of orders.

I guess there's a 'sober' and 'drunk' playthrough, depending on how much Karmotrine you decide to pour in drinks.

It's sad that the only games like this in recent years have been made by SJWs. I was almost interested in Read Only Memories, too, until I saw that dumb shit with the pronouns.
