That's the darkest ambience game you've got? I have played it as a kid and didn't even get spooked. Try this instead.
it's got "weird" in the title, but surely still counts. looks kind of shit though.
...
...
...
Dark Ambiance you say?
And you want Oldest?
Hmm…
Jurassic Park on genesis.
The fucking Sewer level was like being a rat in a deathtrap maze and it was insane with Grant. Didn't help that the music was like some twisted opera.
The most horrifying thing about Darkseed 2 is the combination of real world photography and "art". Fucking christ… at least Dark Seed 1 had some actual art design.
elvira is fantastic. that music. that gore. that atmosphere.
When it went out, I didn't have anything to play it on yet. I started with the second title and it got me into Giger's artwork. Sue me for bad taste.
This is a game about using a slingshot to bounce rocks off of teachers' heads to hit shields so that a safe will open and you can steal your report card before it gets sent to your parents.
Sometimes you'll end up in a class with five other students and only five chairs. If you stand, you'll be punished for not sitting. If you try to sit, another student will knock you to the ground to sit in your chair and then you'll be punished for lying down when you should be sitting. The only viable tactic is to immediately use your slingshot to knock the teacher down over and over again (then stand behind another student so he'll take the blame), hopefully keeping the teacher from starting the class long enough for the next class to start.
I'm not actually criticizing you, just voicing a long-held opinion of Dark Seed 2. It's not a game you have many opportunities to talk about, to say the least.
Nah, that was just the first example that came up to my mind, plus i love Elvira. But oh my god i love Darkseed.
Her games are indeed a fucking gem.
I want some of what that dev was smoking.
...
That fucking look on his face when the woman shows up at the start
...
Go fuck yourself
Do you not like AccursedFarms?
No I hate all of his freemans mind videos and his shitty "obscure" game videos
Well you've got some shit taste, champ.
This game had a very strange, eerie sort of vibe.
Elaborate? You do realize he supports occulus right?
Ross brings a smile to my face and I recently learned that we both used the same trick at one intersection in Virginia so I guess were soul brothers now.
Is there an old porn game or a non-lewd game with tons of cleavage, etc? Graphics like OP's video(haven't watched it, talking about thumbnail) makes my dick really hard for some reason
This game is practically some sort of triage simulator with a bunch of fever dreams and crazy fucking people getting up in your face.
Supports? Did you only watch like the first few minutes of his video? He railed pretty hard on the current state of VR.
The Spellcasting series maybe?
He always wanted VR, but fucking shits on the occulus rift and other crap.
Fun fact. Steve was caught with child pornography and is in prison as we speak.
Hmmm… never played this.
There was a lot of weird shit out there. If you want strange games with dark themes, continue on with Horrorsoft. They were the masters of that in the early 90s. For more odd shit, just get a homecomputer and a box full of random pirated games for it. A lot of nerds were just turning their autistic Ideas into vidya instead of just shitposting them into BBSes. Watch some Demo disks inbetween games and the ride effectively never ends.
I'd like to know how a game called Sex Vixens from space is a horror game. I'm pretty interested now
Turgor isn't that old
...
This video always makes me feel lost.
...
...
...
Bad Cat's a shitty olympic hurdling game with god-awful controls.
...
This was just an example for the weird bullshit people were putting into gamedisks. Sex Vixens is not so much a horror game but in fact a Text Adventure about some guy landing on the waifu planet for some arbitary reasons. It was very infamous, since lewd, legit games for the C64 weren't exactly common.
If you want balls to the walls horror games that are as old as your dad, I already mentioned the Dev who did that all the time; Horrorsoft.
If this still isn't enough or not your thing, you can always grab these. Some of them are beloved classics, some of them are trash. Don't get fooled by the box I posted for Last Half of Darkness. That is actually a trilogy of primitive adventures for IBM PCs.
came here to post this. good taste.
LSD dream simulator is fun when you go in with no expectations/clue about whats happening
and in his mugshot he wears the same jacket he wore in the game.
You always were a diddler, Steve
Spellcross
Evil Fantasy with Orcs and Demons vs Modern Day Humans

...
this game looks hilarious
The same guy also made Eastern Mind.
...
You ever just look at random people's facebook page or go to the newest videos on YouTube and see into a person's life very briefly? It's strange how people are so willing to let everybody peer into their life, to somewhat "know them", to know what they do in their day-to-day lives. It terrifies me.
That's nothing. This guy streams his entire life: cyberman.tv
flood detected
This guy is fucking depressing to watch…
...
Russian Roulette II: The Next Worlds
There is this one game I can't remember the name of wear you have to combine symbols to talk to these weird aliens and you character slowly degraded after time. It was a super obscure game but looked really interesting. About the only other thing I can remember about it was that the UI was blue.
You should see him in fap mode.
I save him in crying mode and decided I'd had enough.
Might as well post this here
Old windows 95 obscure point n click adventure like tong nou
Have a download
legendsworld.net
Sounds like Captain Blood?
fucking dank, m8
I was born too late for this shit. Grew up with NES in the 90s ONLY CANCER GEN KIDS WILL REMEMBER THIS!
and speaking of NES:
Sweet Home is supposed to be breddy sboogy.
good job guys. my vote is for BioForge. It doesn't go out of its way to be weird or odd, but it's got that kind of uncanny valley graphical style, coupled with a bleak and barren setting and an extremely vague storyline
I dunno, it's hard to put my finger on or define, but it feels very strange to play and it's on gog so pirate that shit and tell me you don't get kind of uncomfortable while playing it
I bought this game on steam and the damn thing doesn't fucking work because it needs quicktime of all things to function. I got it to work once and it crashed after the first cutscene. pls bully
That's it!
Thank you user.
What a fitting name for a game.
YOU ARE DEAD DEAD DEAD
Sanitarium. Point and click psychological horror.
...
Vid related.
This is some weird Ruskie shit I tell you what, huge complicated backstory that essentially boils down to in a last ditch effort to fight back an alien menace humanity utilized a kind of weapon that unintentionally rendered them both into a primordial ooze that eventually birthd three different races of monsters.
You aren't one of them.
You play as some kind of weird fucking being no one really understands who is surgically bound to a vehicle, you're free to act as a trucker trader and or bandit wandering around camps of civilizations built in the destroyed infrastructure of an ancient world.
There's a fucking screencap of him on Stream having overdosed on drugs, literally comatose and dying as medics are trying to save his life.
We live in the best of times
I regularly use Ross as inspiration when I'm writing insane cultist characters
doesn't he part time look into cults as part of his planning for the end of the world?
is that the game voice acting or the person who made the video?
WIZBALL FUCK YES
this is some transcendental bullshit right here
I have searched for no commentary play.
Looks like a flannel shirt to me.
You will like this
This is by far the weirdest game I've ever seen
DogDay is a prerendered 3D point and click like Myst made by Australians. You play as a anthropomorph dog in some fucked up dog society. I still have this burned on a disc from when I was little.
This look cool. How is it?
see
MadSpace. You pilot a dual-wielding mecha fighting aliens in non-euclidean levels. Made by slavs.
Well as a fan of Myst and an Australian, I guess I'm obligated to play this now.
Looks like a more hardcore Doom.
When will we get to play Exploding Knees?
Now that's some weird shit. Is there any sort of goal, or do you just wander around watching things happen?
Found the link for the demo: www.explodinglips.com/ftp/lipsdemo.zip
The downloads page is dead, but the Wayback Machine had it archived.
this post reminded me of twinsen's odyssey/little big adventure. that game was weird and pretty unsettling at times, at least as far as i remember
Eastern Mind is my shit.
This song was on the site too
Gaball Screen
Damn, for such an obscure game that's some pretty nice music.
Apparently they had big plans for this game.
funny how today's indies shit out the most pretentious crap and pretend to be weird and ground breaking and get lauded for it when guys have been making weirder and more honest passion projects for two decades and no one's says a goddam word about it.
god bless you anons that played through your shareware discs and 2000 games on one CD-ROM back in the day.
Amen to that shit.
We should make a collection of these and post them in the share thread.
Also, do not forget Chu-teng.
I promised myself I would learn enough moon to play it someday.
I played through the shareware era, and while there was plenty of crap, things like Wolfenstein1, Doom1, Epic Pinball were superstars in the shareware days. Remind me again why sharewares got supplanted by things like kikestarter? I mean sure, I once got a virus from a bad shareware disk. That aside, for around 5 bucks or free, you get to try out at least a level or two of a game you were interested in.
Worse than Chris?
I PATTERN MY LIFE OVER THE RANDOM LOOPINGS OF YOUR ENTRAILS
I'd do it if I had my own pc on me, but it's in the shop (dented mother board -> ded). I'll try and at least save the titles of the games mentioned here, will do my best to archive them when I get the chance.
Keep making these threads once every month or so, some of these games deserve to be experienced.
Here's a shitty trailer for a weird game I started playing a long time ago and never went too far into, but it fits the criteria. Reminded me a lot of Binding of Isaac.
It also still has an active multiplayer community.
I think it's a drug for some people.
Got a link to where I can get this working by chance?
it looks neat I'll play it.
GOG has it, so it shouldn't be that hard to pirate. That's how i played it.
Did I miss anything?

I was looking through the big 1.5 TB I got that's up to Feb last year 2015. I couldn't find it but I'll look at it again.
Strange, I remember looking through the huge GOG torrent that was posted on the previous Share thread and it had Sanitarium there.
I looked and found it. I merely missed it because I'm an idiot.
Does anyone have a working version of Vangers? Steam or GoG rip would be nice.
I got it on GOG, I can put it up on Mega or the Holla Forumsolafile room.
You must be pretending to be retarded, right?
Yeah, that game was pretty scary for what is originally (I think) just a teen rated movie , and hard too. I always loved the ending doppelganger-esque bossfight in the raptor campaign.
I can understand not being a fan of his freeman's mind series, but is there any particular reasoning behind not liking his Game Dungeon videos, other than "I don't like that guy >:( " ?
If the first Elvira game qualifies, then the other two too: The Jaws of Cerberus and Waxworks. Perhaps The Legacy: Realm of Terror as well, even if they feel a little clichéd.
Giten Megami Tensei feels a little weird. Specially the music blaring in this scene.
Yes, one thing leads to the other.
Chris? You mean Chris Chan?
I'm in the middle of compiling some of these games for upload. Stay tuned.
I'm fucking glad i made this thread, seeing that it went to good places.
Nigga what?
What about the Clock Tower games?
3-D Monster Maze is pretty spooky. There's a homebrew for the Atari 2600 called Skeleton+ that's alot like it but you shoot the monster, now a skeleton, and there are 10 of them, sort of an improvement gameplay wise, not to mention the atmosphere is improved by the skeleton making audible, Jaws theme-like footsteps.
If anyone wants to help. Upload some games to MEGA, then post the link here so I can import to the folder. Looking for LSD right now.
That shit looks scary, like some creepypasta shit
I've got a copy of LSD I could put on Mega, but you should be able to find it on one of the rom sites like emuparadise. I can upload a Exploding Lips, too. Should I include that Doom mod based on it?
Sure, Mega is good. I guess would appreciate it too.
It's up now my friend. Many thanks anyhow.
It's just that my upload speed is horrible for these big games.
Here's Vangers mega.nz
and Exploding Lips mega.nz
The text was fucked up when I tried Exploding Lips, but I'm guessing it would be fine on Windows 9x. I guess I'll try it when I get the chance and report back.
Thanks, user!
Did he learn nothing from the lodge? Was getting caught part of his plan?
That may be a pretty cool story. A guy who went through the lodge and became a harvester goes to prison and makes a gang of initiates to break out and spread the word of the guy in tier 1 monk robes.
Growing up I remember seeing Elvira pinball machines multiple times in various places.
Many thanks.
Here's the folder I'm uploading games at. I'll keep uploading shit from the list.
I want to add that I automated the launch for the games here. Just use the included bat files and dosbox.exe files and you should be good to go.
calm down
Really glad somebody decided to get their shit together instead of me (I'm the loser with a broken laptop - cca $300 for the motherboard and repairs).
Keep fighting the good fight.
Oh man I still have all 15 or so floppys to Legacy. That game is unsettling as fuck. I can't bring myself to get past the first level of the mansion. It's an interesting and original RPG as well. One of my fondest memories as a child is seeing my character die from sheer terror because he saw some evil Lovecraftian tentacle monster.
What about One Level One Weapon?
Nice one, dude. I'll have to remember this.
That came out just this year, user.
What about Entomorph?
If you want to help, I'd appreciate it. Just upload on MEGA and I'll import to the folder.
Configured portable dosbox installations and preconfigured winuae portable installations are encouraged. The use of bat files to run the games in one go is also encouraged (unless there's a GOG release available). Just take as a base any of the ones I've uploaded here.

Oh, I found the whole soundtrack. Pretty good.
Ok. Agony is fucking done after a million years dealing with Startup-Sequence in Amiga.
At least I learned something new.
Eastern Mind is up now.
Done uploading for today. Will resume tomorrow. Keep it alive people.
Yep, works fine in 98. It has to run in 256 color mode, so use QEMU instead of Virtualbox.
PCem is also pretty good for Win98.
Awesome!
Should we have reference pictures or a chart to show what the games are about?
Truly fam. Ride together, die together.
Go for it dude. It would be great to have a chart with weird/dark games to scratch that itch.
Sure, dude. I'll have a look at my games folder and see if I have any other weird games.
I can't guarantee this, though. I just collect weird and obscure games.
But if anyone wants to take the raw files I upload, set them up for modern PCs and reupload them, well go for it.
Here's my mega vidya folder: mega.nz
The games you may be interested in (so far) are:
The latter two games are by Osamu Sato (of LSD and Eastern Mind fame), but you may have a difficult time getting Chu Teng to work. I haven't actually run it myself, but the files should be fine (I got them from 4ch's /vr/ iirc). I forget exactly why I gave up playing it, but I think it was because it's the Mac version. Shouldn't be too difficult to get running with a VM or something. Either that, or it needs some old version of windows. It is, however, translated (somewhat). I don't think it's a complete translation, but I believe it's playable.
Necrobius is a somewhat lost indie game that's a bit like Osamu Sato's games. Cosmology of Kyoto is another similar explore-and-look-at-weird-shit game. It's set in ancient Japan, as you may have already assumed.
Captain Blood was mentioned earlier in the thread. It's arguable if it's a GOOD game, but it definitely nails an alien atmosphere. Also the fictional language it uses is fascinating. The open ended adventure gameplay is very similar to the above games, too.
I'm also uploading Germs: Nerawareta Machi because… why not? It's a first person adventure/action game with a very odd atmosphere and some weird monster design. I didn't get very far in it because it's only in moon, but I thought you guys might find it interesting nonetheless.
I see that Middens is on there, too. Would you guys be interested in other strange RPG Maker games? Cause I know a few. They're not old though, so I thought I should ask first.
Much appreciated. Games added. I already had uploaded Captain Blood though.
I'll see if I can get Chu-Teng to work on modern OSs without so much messing around.
And please, do upload those weird RPG maker games, but if you could make a folder for them to separate them from the old games it would be great.
Thanks for contributing.
Can anyone help me remember the name of a game? It was this old ass PC game, where each way you died had a gruesome, unique death cutscene or whatever. Less of a cutscene, more of a still image of your dead character but whatever.
That's good old WaxWorks. I will upload it to the folder pretty soon.
In the game Zaddas, the exe still says Launch Spellcross. It's still Zaddas, I just forgot to rename it. Feel free to rename it yourself, it will work.
Ah yeah, that's it. Thanks user.
Waxworks uploaded for your sick pleasure. Pick a bat file and just run it. It has both DOS and Amiga.
This was my favorite game as a kid.
Kinda cool to see actual H.R. Giger art in video games
Yay, a thread where I get to show off this shit.
Also, this game.
It's a shame the voice acting is horrendous, especially for the Devil himself, as the visual design is pretty creepy.
Always been looking for that, never could find a link for it.
theisozone.com
Can find a ton of PC games here, but there are a few things they're missing.
What's this game like? I love that weird 90s aesthetic.
That sword sprite is shit tho
Add this one please
legendsworld.net
If you want some more Elvira, check this out:
Labyrinth of Time. Dark color palette and brooding late-80s/early-90s ambient track are a bit unnerving when combined.
I do believe there already exists a graphics list depicting all the "noteworthy" titles out there.
Found this chart among my pictures. A lot of the games further down the list are pretty weird and some of them are old.
Also, how comes nobody has mentioned Noctis yet?
Noctis is not that obscure since some idiots have been claiming that it inspired NMS
Well, it's still old and rather weird. I think it deserves a mention.
Added. If there's a full ISO out there, that'd be awesome but I can't find anything as of right now.
That should go in oldfag, Marathon trilogy is easy as piss to run with the sourceport and it's free.
I don't think I've heard anyone talk about Noctis outside of space sim circles for about 10 years now. Can't be too well known anymore, although business has picked up with that genre in recent years so maybe they are latching onto some old thing from it for no reason.
Might as well say that it's inspired by Terminus…
Not really creepy or dark ambiance though, at least no more than Space Engine.
Maybe less than SE actually as at least that has black holes.
Please mirror the folder whenever's possible. We never know when these files are going to be taken down. I can't seem to be able to access the folder right now, it's stuck on "Decrypting"
I think this is one of the best threads Holla Forums Holla Forums had. Is there any good gaming related websites that i need to know like a forum or imageboard or anything?
Looks like they were meant to be someone someone popular.
Great video. What a wild ride.
That's what's in the 7zip. Also, just realized there's been no mention of Obsidian. I haven't actually played it yet because I only have the German version, but an user mentioned it in one of these threads and it looked interesting. Apparently there was a lot of stuff left out of the English version. Maybe ich müsst just do my best to verstehe what ich kannst.
total distortion remake never ever
Why live
These were mentioned already in this thread. Legends world focuses on 3D shooter games and adventure games.
theisozone.com
legendsworld.net
I'd add hardcore gaming 101 to that list. Never understood that name but the content is nice. They have some very specific genres and themes that are nice to check out. Stuff like spelunking games or dark sci-fi/cyberpunk.
hardcoregaming101.net
Bad Day on the Midway is another game. Old, dark, weird. Made by The Residents, an anonymous band/media collective found in the 60s. They're still active today which is pretty cool.
I forgot to mention it's not a good game. The start is okay but it gets kind of tedious later on.
What the fuck? I played this game somehow, years ago. I don't remember owning it…
Oh come on, Cosmology of Kyoto isn't that dark…right?
Nah, take it out of the list, they went full PC recently.
Its on GOG and i believe that a cut of the money goes to the devs
I noticed this too lately. I wanted to put this in as a warning but forgot. I still don't see a problem with their overall content though. The articles are written by several people and it seems there are just a couple of bad apples in the basket.
Is it really that bad? You got any examples?
Basically a DOOM clone…with platforming. But it can't run on any Doom emulator, so you're stuck with ye olden look up/down keys.
It's weird, eerie and at times faintly reminiscent of American McGee's Alice or Worlds.com. Faintly. As in barely.
There's also this shitty scrolls = keys mechanic where the door says something and you have to find the right scroll to counteract what the door says so it will open. What makes it even shittier is the voice acting of the main character a kid.
But it's not a bad game, especially if you're just looking for the aesthetic.
I can't find a download anywhere. I don't suppose you have a copy?
You mean sourceport? Shouldn't sound like a problem.
fuck
Well, that's the oddest thing, I can't find one either. I myself downloaded it off the internet a few years back - strange that it would be taken down as it's totally Abandonware.
I use my phone for internet, BUT I'll hopefully be going to the library on Monday, and I could use their internet to upload an ISO to Mega if their servers don't cut me off then post it in a share thread if this thread isn't still up by then.
Here. I think it may just be a demo but I don't know.
Space Station Silicon Valley wasn't dark but it had some pretty fucking weird bits and the artstyle ranged from cartoony to horrifying. Skip to 1:20 to see what I mean. It's a fun game though with great music.
Cubivore is pretty weird.
Alright people. I have uploaded all I could from the list. The games I did not upload is because I couldn't find, or I couldn't upload because they were too fucking big (My upload is 50kb/s, 75kb on a good day), however I left a download link so those of you with a decent connection could upload to MEGA if you wish. Have fun and let's keep creativity alive in this thread.

I tried out Spellcross. Fun game but you need to mount the SPELLCROSS.cue in the game folder with with the launcher so that cutscenes and dialog files work.
That's funny. I added the mount line in dosbox.conf

I did see that one for Harvester, but I was looking for a MEGA link to the GoG release. This one is still kind of a pain to use.
Thank you for the links.
And here's the first Russian Roulette.
maxwolf.ru
Download at your own risk, I got this on a russian forum: rutracker.org
The filesize seems suspicious, the first one is 329 mb, while the second is only 75 mb (zipped, but still). I just hope the first one has FMV to justify such a size and the second one dropped those.
Gotcha. Thank you.
Goodness Gracious uploaded to MEGA with the emulator already configured.
I'll see what i can do about Harvester.
Expect results later today.

Can't believe I forgot to mention Bad Toys…
mega.nz
It's supposed to be an FPS for kids, but it's a bit creepy. You're in a toy factory and all the toys have come to life or something. Spooky sounds play at random and these guys jump at you from nowhere. If you can't turn around fast enough you're fucked. I still don't know what the fuck the thing in pic 5 is. According to an user, there's even a nude woman hidden somewhere if you look hard enough.
Heh, found it already. It wasn't even really hidden.
Nice job, user.
Damn that's some Worlds.com shit.
Speaking of which, what about Worlds? Does that count as a weird game?
Yeah, it's just pretty well known around here.
Looks like they just called it a demo to avoid getting it taken down. could compare it to his copy to make sure though. 4shared is shit so I put the extracted iso on Mega: mega.nz
For the sake of staying on topic, I'll refer to The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System, specifically the section where you click on the globe to explore/toy around with imaginary planets.
I'm trying to write a parody of this song but the webm is too damn hard to listen to.
Here's what I have:
vocaroo.com

Here's the rest of the lyrics: pastebin.com
There was once this game where a bunch of people got thrown into a giant mouth or some shit, and it was supposedly an adventure game about people being thrown in hell by a dystopian society or some shit. I do not know what it was, I once saw it in a gaming magazine long time ago.
Thanks.
Found it.
Thanks. Again the same issue. My upload speed being shit on a stick to upload 400mb, let alone 1.29gb.
I'll see what I can do.
Imported. Thank you!
bump just in case
I remember seeing Vinesauce, I think, playing a hellish version of pinball. It's not a pinball table game, per se, but the mechanics are pretty much the same: you got a ball, two pucks, but you play in a third person view, if that makes sense.
The camera is right behind the pucks and you progress through the levels by… shit I don't remember, collecting points? killing a certain amount of enemies/hitting targets?
I remember briefly playing a point and click from a demo disk that came from some magazine. No idea what the title is, but I'm fairly sure it claimed to draw inspiration from african culture and I think it had documentary elements to it, like explaining a riddle was based on an african game.
But this is shit I think was in the game. What I'm 100% sure was in there was a strange UI with some manner of face on top of the screen, but in a weird shape, like a rectangle or triangle. The main palette was gold-brown.
That's awfully vague. Hoping someone else can help.
Uploaded DreamWeb to the folder. It really needed to be there.
Best I can do, my stupid young self couldn't solve a single riddle. It was first person though.
Can you give us a year?
How old were you when you played it? How old are you now?
The folder linked in ? I don't see it.
Give it a while. MEGA is being a bitch again and not letting me access my own fucking folder.
Check the folder again now. It will be there.
What
Didn't know that one. Imma check it out.
i miss offensive cheat codes.
this game is fucking weird but i have to say that i enjoyed it
i never got to play the full version back in the day. also: doesn't run on 64bit systems.
update: dragged my winxp VM off my external HD and BT3D's reg code seems not to work.
Pu-Li-Ru-La Arcade Gears uploaded to MEGA for Retroarch/Mednafen/PSP.
Damn.
Worked for me in an XP VM. It's even 64-bit. Did you enter the code with the dashes?
Game where you teach a AI spider on how to get around the game.
yep. entered with dashes. but it did work in my xp vm as far as running.
Huh, not sure what the problem could be then. unless maybe you entered LIDONG as L1DONG What's the error you get?
...
i need that music
ipfs.io
Track title is "Still Life", number 9
just came back to testing it and lo and behold it seems to actually work.
Huh. Well good for you then I guess
Found this midi in the game's folder. I wonder why it doesn't play in the game.
It does play in an earlier shareware version during the demo. I think they broke it or something.
Who thought this would be appropriate for a game about silly rampaging toys? This song is downright unsettling.
That's some good music and these are some good dubs.
This webm crashes my browser
IHNMAIMS and Phantasmagoria
This was definitely during my middle school years, so around 2000.
Could someone help me finding this game?
The only think I remenber was that if you died, there was a cutscene of an island (I think) exploding.
No MDK? you plebs are disgusting.
My nigga

Ecstatica, an early survival-horror type thing from 1994 with a really bizarre, cartoony pseudo-3D visual style, weird sound effects, and nudity (uncommon for games in this era). Incredibly odd game that fits the bill for this thread, check it out.
You know, thinking about it, we forgot one the most popular games with dark ambiences.
Embed related.
The intro reminds me of another game. But i can't remember which one it is.
Oh, my bad. Can't you download it though?
Looks like fun, though the controls are a little hard to get used to so far.
Oh, and here's a MEGA. mega.nz
afaik the best way to play MDK is either with D3D or Glide. both of which are supported with dgVoodoo 2. latest WIP build of dgV2 here: vogons.org
works goddamn wonders on a ton of things. if not just read the rest of the thread pages 110-115 have mentions of MDK working fine with the d3d version.
Just finished watching a play through of Harvester, the entire 5 hour video, what a great game. Top notch writing and voice acting.
Looks like one of those fake cans of peanuts or whatever where the snakes pop out or something.

Paranoiascape
happy?
Yep, thanks
Why didn't you play it instead?
Not sure really, started watching it and was quite drawn in so I didn't want to pause.
The Dark Eye (1995)
Did it include the incest scene?
I just noticed that Fez was actually added to the MEGA folder.
I was joking, that shit has no business being here, kek.
Nobody ever menions Eternam.
youtube.com
Not even in threads about weird shit.
And it was VERY weird. I played it back in the nineties.
...
Panic! on Sega CD. Press random buttons and watch crazy shit happen. Don't know if this really counts as a game, since the gameplay is comparable to dicking around on a DVD menu.
This game satisfies
But I don't actually think it's the game you are thinking, based on what else you are saying. $5, it's the best I can do.
Speaking of which, the Elroy series was pretty weird.
In Elroy's Costume Closet, which was a glorified dress up game spinoff, if you took off the girl's clothes and kept trying to remove her underwear she had a surprisingly large library of things to tell you to stop. Was very lewd as a kid.

There was this old DOS or early Windows game I remember playing in which you play as an egg that's actually a space ship with a mechanical arm. You explore maps in order to find space chickens to capture and then have to escape the level on a timer. At the end of each level the game displays a Bible verse. Does anyone here know this game?
Are there any "Christian" games that isn't weird as shit?
Bump. This thread needs to live.
Impressive
OP here. I'm glad i made this thread. Maybe we should continue it after hitting the limit.
It would be good to archive this one too.
Served
We could post some more screenshots of the games that were already mentioned. Here's a quick WebM of the Eggplant guy from The Saboten Man. That one screenshot didn't really do it justice…
I finally found out the name of the game. Adventures With Chickens.
Now that's some hardcore shovelware. Found a shareware copy too.
mega.nz
The only copy I could find was on fucking Softpedia, but Malwarebytes says it was safe.
Prerendered 3D games do it for me.
You're in for a treat.
Should we make a chart of these Weird games or just a OP copy pasta for a future thread?
Chart would be nicer, since you can save and spread it easily.
I posted this in the horror thread but I think it's semi-relevant here.
vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com
It really focuses more on horror games, even under the 'mindfuck' subcategory. But it still contains a few bizarre games.
Looks like a shitty quake mod.
Fuck. I meant to respond to this one.
What the fuck are you even talking about?
ALIENS ARE FAGGOTS!
I miss these too.
I love how these are charmingly weird instead of "pretentious award-bait" weird.
I remember there was a disney's drawnn 2d platformer where a kid travelled to his own nightmares. It had a disturbing dentist level, but trying to find it yields things much weirder (holyshit why do girls want to see disney characters deformed in the first place?)
Forgot something.
Fist step done! Everyone can continue from here on.
Don't think for a second I missed your smug user.
he's probably pissed off that Ross dissed shmups in his first game dungeon.
Prepare to be aesthetically spooked
Looks comfy
Bump
I just realized no one has linked to Biggt's games yet so here they are.
archive.is
Ignore the pretentious blog post. I'm not sure of any other site that has all five of this guy's La La Land games in one place.
He's also made another game called Uin available here archive.is
Got a download for that?
The official site still exists: maxmagnusnorman.com
I've never gotten it to work though, pic related.
Someone make a Holla Forums recommends out of these. Leave Fez off, please.
UIN download doesn't work :(
I have the game files on an old HDD I had lying around. I'll upload it in a bit after my file host stops giving me shit.
Thnx bby.
It was a joke, is it really not that obvious?
Neither MSPaint or I are up to the task.
How's this? I just made a quick HTML document and took a full page screenshot in Firefox. That way the text and images are easy to change at any time and everything can be rearranged quickly.
There's this thread full of games on a different imageboard.
archive.is
The thread topic is really just general indie games with no real theme but there's a handful of odd old games in there.
Looks good. I would keept the format from the template though. Some of these games have such bullshit boxes, that you best representent with a screenshot. The font should be changed as well. Something serif free could do the trick, I think.
Try GIMP. The template was designed with layers in mind.
no, I can't handle it, mr. Crabs
