I can't understand 3/4 of what the guy was saying in your song OP. I generally don't like songs when I can't hear the lyrics due to mumbling behind snare drums, or lack of enunciation behind a bass guitar, or outright screeching.

I like some of the rifts from a metal song here or there, but the whole genre is just a fucking mess. And a lot of Holla Forums might have similar feelings, which is why nobody cares about black metal. It kind of has some OK messages veiled behind cryptic words (assuming you even believe that is their intent) but the delivery is shit. It's just plain bad, and cryptic messages don't make it better, they just make it more interesting.

And of course, it doesn't help that you don't actually get to hear the cryptic messages. You have to have somebody spoon feed you the lyrics so you can follow along to make them out. It's just a mess.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, the genre does not have to be what you are describing if you care to look for it. There are few genres that truly give you that raw feeling of deep forests, high mountains and nature in general. I think that is what OP actually are trying to explain although screeching bands are not for everyone. That said blindly following a certain genre is stupid if you are an artist and the interesting bands are often a mix , often including folk influences..

People saying metal is for angsty teens don't get it and should open their mind a little. Metal is putting the grimm misty mountains and endless swamps into a music form. The magic of the earth and man and esoteric principles wrapped into one. Some songs are so bleak you can feel the cold and bitterness of the environment.

Metal has everything from symphony (what you say is the only white music) to ambience, the technical requirements of symphony/jazz or any other very technical or difficult musical styles.

Sure I get where you are coming from. But there is no way in today's society to get young people to only value beauty. At best they enjoy it a little on the side while playing whatever is popular on the radio. In my experience people listening to metal are more nationalistic/traditional in general and often hold strong opinions about radio/party music. Unfortunately there are still those who "sex, drug and rock&roll". This will continue as long as the industry exists.

But Summoning made me start listen to neoclassic music, and the folk influences got me to things like the embedded video (the drummer I mentioned earlier). So I do feel like metal is a cure, as the listener grows older, to re-connect with what you are describing.

That could be difficult, 30-40% of that is lossless, internet is barely ADSL hence the large collection.

Only thing you won't be able to easily find (in HQ at least) will be Sirius, as the only person I traded my wav copy to was [email protected]/* */, which is now pay only (pretty sure). I have never seen another copy floating around.
That place has an amazing collection of flac/lossless metal though.

Perhaps some but overall I disagree. It's same with Dimmu, people say they're shit because they are popular/sold out, but really they still have amazing skill and make some good tunes. Metal music not being uplifting and positive and beautiful is usually a fair criticism. I only know of precious few bands who can make happy metal without it being, well, shit. Because that's not what metal is good at. What metal absolutely excels at is portraying negative emotions like anger, hatred and despair. Also strength. Strength might not be the best word for it but I think it should be obvious to any metal listener what I mean.

Metal is also a genre that puts a lot of emphasis on virtuosity and mastering your instrument(s) of choice. Seriously, metal drumming is a full-on workout, see embed.
