Zero Time Dilemma, SAO Lost Song almost done with the desert island

GalGun DP, more Asia-English/Region3 releases, Shantae,

I beat Ultra Despair Girls a few days ago, other than that, I'm not making too much progress, unfortunately. Work keeps me busy orz

Nothing. I gotta fix the brakes on my car, and that's probably gonna be anywhere between $200~$600, just depending.

> fun?
Not really. ZTD has been kind of disappointing for the small bits I've already played. Junpei is a total asshole, Eric is totally pussy-whipped from the look of things, and all the character models in general look like ass. Another big gripe I have is the parts where characters make small jokes/quips, that are usually pretty funny, fall terribly flat because of the shitty animations and practically-non-existent facial expressions, and those little tidbits were some of the most entertaining things about 999/VLR. And I already hate how totally disjointed everything is. This fragments system is dumb, it needlessly confuses and complicates an already confusing storyline. They should've just stuck with VLR's branch system as a whole, instead of this fragment shit combined with the branch system. I REALLY hope this story pays off, with everything wrapping up nicely, because otherwise this shit won't be worth it.

At least Phi's new design is pretty cute.

Virtue's Last Reward, Ar Nosurge, DT2

Zero Time Dilemma, bigger memory card, Danganronpa 2

Possibly VLR? I'm still not sure if I hit the true ending, there are a few paths I haven't done cause I don't want to betray. If anyone wants to help me figure out my timeline, it's the second two images. The first one's a nice screencap of Ar Nosurge's boot screen.

Booze. Roommate and I are gonna be doing our own party and shit.

That boot screen is real nice-looking.

As for VLR, I'd HIGHLY encourage you to fill out the rest of the flowchart. You'll learn a bit more about certain things. I know it sucks to betray I never wanted to either but I made a point out of getting every other ending before going for the true ending. I more or less used a guide, rather, just to see what I needed to get to get the true ending, and I avoided those paths until I had all the other endings I could get. If you're that same user from the previous thread where you mentioned [Major Spoilers] waking up in K's body and the whole shebang, after waking up in the elevator and saving Akane from Dio, etc etc and Alice & Clover mention about getting back to their bodies in the previous time, before the events of VLR, and so on then you DID get the true ending, just so you know.

Yeah, that's me. So I don't actually get to stop the Radical-6 outbreak? Fuck.

Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain. This game is addicting as hell, especially since I've realized you can sequence break something awful if you're brave/foolish enough to do so. This game is a blast. If I can ever break away from it, I also should be playing Caligula and MeiQ.

Gundam Breaker 3 to drop in price. Also, Ys 8 and City of Swords next month, 7 Pirates in August, Demon Gaze 2 in October, and SRW V the moment it's released.

Nope VLR is left open-ended to make way for ZTD wrapping everything up, or at least that's my thinking. After all, the entire purpose of VLR was to send 74-year-old Sigma's consciousness back to his younger self just before the Radical-9 outbreak, in order to prevent it from ever happening in the first place. As you know now, when you start the game your body is 74-year-old Sigma's for the whole game, while having young Sigma's consciousnesses. Phi's consciousness also went back to her younger self as well, it would seem. It's been a while since I beat VLR, but that was probably part of the point too.

Speaking of upcoming games, have you played the new Shiren by any chance is it out in Japan yet?…? If so, how is it? I haven't played a Shiren game ever, and haven't played a Mystery Dungeon game since Pokemon Explorers of Darkness, but what I've seen of the new Shiren looks fun.

Why don't they drop the price if they can't sell them?

There's a new Shiren? Only one I've heard of recently is the remake of 5 the Vita got last year, but I don't follow the series as well as I ought to to be sure, only recently got back into roguelikes with Omega Labyrinth.

Odin Sphere is pretty fun but I have a hard time even starting it up. Maybe I'll be in a better mood for it later.

How's that there God Eater? I didn't realize it came out recently. I had played enough of GEB but never played the multiplayer.

ah, I meant Shiren 5+/Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate, my bad. I didn't realize it was a remake/+ version before now.

Ah, fair enough then. Either way though, haven't played it - not so secret shame, the only Shiren I've played was I think the original on the SF. Good, but I didn't really have the time to devote to it at the time I played it, and never got around to getting back to it. 5's Vita remake is going for about 3500 on Amazon right now though, so maybe I'll get that.

Odin Sphere. It's pretty shit. Despite playing on hard mode, no one's gotten me even close to death. Everything is being handed to me. They pretend there's hidden items in the game, yet there's a mini map that shows all locations you haven't seen yet.
Fucking game for little kids that assumes I'm a retard that needs my hand held.
Just like all games on the vita.
Nothing really. Maybe Ninja Gaiden Sigma+. Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 are the whole reason I bought a vita, yet I still don't own it for some reason. I had 2 but I returned it once I saw the frame rate drops.

No I'm not having fun. Nothing challenges me and I might as well be watching Sesame Street.

By the way, playing = beating and wanting = buying. I don't know why people keep perpetuating this retarded OP.

I should have specified that when I say the mini map shows you all locations, this includes so-called "hidden" locations. Areas with treasure have a giant treasure logo over them in the mini map.
Remember when games used to have things like magic walls you had to walk into to reveal? Remember when bosses were significantly harder than normal enemies, and not just because they had increased HP, but because their attacks were devastating? Me neither.

Are there actually people that play this on Easy mode? How? It'd turn this game into basically a cinematic game like Heavy Rain. Hell on hard, I already feel that way.
Odin Sphere is 0/10.

Not all of then, I'm certain.

Missing skills have hints on their whereabouts but they're not placed on the map.

yeah, they're hidden very well.
area off course from the route to your quest?
no treasure marked there? no battle?
there's your "hidden" skill.
sesame street: the video game

I'm not defending the game as a whole, just saying you were wrong about a certain aspect.

"Blatantly suspicious dead-end" is a far cry from "literally everything is on the map." If you're going to critique something, at least be accurate because someone might be around to call you out on your shit.

blatantly suspicious dead-end is technically a mark on the map for hidden skill. there's never not a skill hidden there.
i feel sick to my stomach, i don't know what happened to RPG's. why do they treat me like i'm five? why does no one complain about it but me

Because it's not every game, you narrow-sighted, whiny-ass dummy-head.

A pair of games I can think of off the top of my head that require you to have a brain are Natural Doctrine and Gungnir. Both you can get on the Vita.

Get on to RPG Maker and construct your own. You won't be happy with anyone else's efforts, so stop looking for pack approval and satisfy yourself. That's all there is to it.

it's 99.5% of games

I've been happy with lots of games, just not recently. I bought a PSP two months ago cause I figured one of the JRPG's on there must be hard.
haven't found one yet. sorta angry i wasted $100. maybe gungnir will be okay.

playing a game you slaved away on is not fun. it wouldn't be the same.

Give 7th Dragon 2020 and it's sequel, 2020-II a go. Meanwhile, for Vita games, pick up Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain.

haha
hahahah. i played it for fifty hours when i should have stopped at 5. the game was even easier than shitty final fantasy. if you die in a battle, you can literally do the battle over again instantly from the beginning, even in random encounter battles.
i'm not listening to shit you recommend, fucking poop eater

Seriously? I wasn't even aware of that mechanic, I always reset as soon as I die in most games.

Then you're on your own. It's up to you to find something fun. Pirate games and stick to demos till you get something you like.

the only times one could die in 2020 is when they're explicitly trying to anyway by neglecting to use healing or something. all random encounter enemies die in one hit. i never even got to use any hacker skills because the enemies would die before i could debuff them.
one of the shittiest RPG's i ever played

is when YOU're explicitly trying to*

OK, now I'm convinced you're bullshitting. The game is far from the most difficult of it's genre, but it's not that piss easy, and there's a lot of build depth that opens up later on.

I stopped playing after i finished the horror/zombie themed "dungeon". there's no dungeons in the game by the way, i guess they didn't want to scare casuals away by putting in mazes.
i don't know how i could kill everyone in one hit but you couldn't. i didn't grind and you can't access high level equipment without upgrading the stores, so i don't know what you did wrong.
in fact i was swapping out party members for new ones after each dungeon so i always had a low level character in my party. it didn't stop me from being a meat grinder who killed everyone in my path.

I'm having a decent challenge with it, but I'm not playing Muramasa mode. I'm at the ice mountain. The main thing making that game difficult is those snowflake enemies that pop up every few moments. If not for those, I'd actually have a much easier time.

I'm at the boss now, but I can't deny that it was annoying (and still is annoying in this boss fight) to deal with.

Sure. Makes the game easy to blow through and get trophies.

Seems harsh to me, but alright.

hey hey hey, what do you know. i take back what i said about odin sphere.
would you believe me if I said i've died seven times just since you wrote this post twenty minutes ago?
i guess i deemed it easy too early, i must have been playing the tutorial before. i've become cynical. most games don't have a sudden difficulty spike like this so i didn't expect it. i expected shit forever.

Wait, so you played it for 10 minutes and went on some angry rant? Come on, dude.

no, i played it for an hour then went on some angry rant.
i may be speaking prematurely yet again though, i think this guy that's killed me seven times is well above my level. fights in my range are probably still going to be easy as fuck.
we'll see.

Who are you fighting?

i just checked and he was my level, i admit i was wrong about this game.
i am a happy guy now, first good game i've had in months. it'll get the bad taste of unreal world's casualness out of my mouth

Well, it's good that you're enjoying yourself, I guess. I found the level claim questionable, since you'd really have to get out of your way to grind at that point in the game.

I only wish I had an OLED vita or a PS4 so I could better enjoy the visuals.
though the king sure is ugly. I think he might be the ugliest thing I've ever seen vanillaware draw. His ridiculous armor reminds me of world of warcraft clowns.

Asking again since the old thread died.
Anyone play Grand Kingdom? Any good? Worth getting used because fuck NISA?

Did you play the demo?

Yeah, it wasn't bad but the limited classes got annoying. What I'm wondering is if the extra classes and group progression adds much to the game; the demo alone was fun but would probably get boring quick.

EDF17 - searching for people to play this with. Ulyulyuki psn name Really, does no one wants to play videogames anymore?
SSD
Deception IV
DR: AE UDSpG
corpse party bd
project diva
Muramasa rebirth complete
xonic suprebeat
Shinobido 2
Gravity rush
EDF2 IFPS
Muramasa rebirth

As I don't have the full game, i can't comment on too much, but it seems like the main game is much of what the demo does plus more classes, objectives, dialogue, etc. Whether or not it's worth it is up to you, but I imagine there is more depth with the inclusion of more classes, equipment, skills, and what not.

Even EDF2 has died down quite a bit. You'd probably have more luck with that, though.

I'll play with you, if you buy it for a poorfag and don't mind autistic people. I have infinite time on my hands as a neet so we can play all day long, and my bedtime is never due to insomnia, so timezones won't be an issue.

Thoughts on the new SOA game?

Really liking the team and armor customization they have going here. The combat doesn't look bad either, especially with a decent party. Saying that I wonder if I can use other characters besides Kirito. I don't like him one bit but I can tolerate him as long as the gameplay is fun.

More games should have this feature.

I need to buy a ps plus subcription, but are there some offers for 1-Year PS Plus? I want to save some dollarydoos.

Are you fucking kidding?

You barely played the game and made a dumb judgement?

Obviously the fucking beginning of the game is you learning how to play. Dumb nigger.

no

The normal price is $50, but every few weeks they drop to $40 in Amazon and other online retailers. Wait for the next chance - it should be soon.

Okay, I'll be that fag. Sauce? Google's not cooperating.

If you have a twitter, follow cheap ass gamer. They've been announcing wholesalers on the east & west coast who have subscription cards by the crate selling them at discount ($39 or so).

Failing that, what other user said. A third option is doing the footwork to find your card wholesalers in your city, but that's some seriously involved effort.

Anyways:

DT2, Lolipop Chainsaw (fun game), Flying Hamster (I need another shootemup for Vita)

Fate/Extella, Gal*Gun DP, Uppers, maybe Valkyrie Drive

m'meat

Copy of Blanc & Nep vs Zombie Army just came in. Looking at Odin Sphere and Gal*Gun DP as next on the list, and trying to find a non pocket-breaking of the first game.

I'll end up getting it from Play-Asia along with Criminal Girls 2. I already know it.

So whats the difference between the 2 EDF on the Vita?
I see that edf 2 came out later than 17, so would it be a better experience to just buy that, or is 17 and 2 mostly the same?

That's a pretty lewd picture of best girl and the loli, is that game coming to Vita?

How's the English dub of Atelier Totori? I switched over immediately to jap once I heard it was in English, but Totori's voice is actually pretty cute. I'd like to play in English just for her, but it's everyone else who worries me.

It's serviceable, but what sucks about the dual audio in the Ateliers is that they're partial, just like NISA's back on the PS2.
The JP tracks usually voice certain optional scenes, whereas the US tracks tend to omit most of them and only keep voices for the main story scenes, leaving the rest completely silent.

God, some of these games look interesting but come on is it too much to ask that I play as my own created character and not Gary FUCKING Stu of all people?!?

You can change Kirito appearance

I know but I'm still playing as Kittytoe. I want my own character to play as, let my guy be stealing waifus left and right. I wanna see kittytoe do it I'd go watch the anime or read the LNs and I'm not doing either.

i'm gonna kill myself
i want to eat that fat ass rabbit's shit

Still, I dont know why anyone want to spend countless hours playing SAO game. Its literally a single player MMO, yes a single player MMO

Now imagine playing a game with WoW combat and endless grinding. That's is SAO feels like.

commission some porn if you're so desperate

nah my man
it's bad enough i give them attention by jacking off to their non-art

See, this sounds like it'd be a good thing since you'd be taking out the genre's two most fundamental flaws, but the .hack games have shown us that what that leaves you with is boring combat and terrible flow designed to keep you paying for shit as long as possible.

Alright Vitafags I'm in a slump and I need to play a video game. I haven't been able to get into video games since I started working at a job at the beginning of summer.

Here's what I have on my Vita right now. Basically all of them are untouched except for SK, Gravity Rush, and Dragon's Crown.

...

If it makes you feel any better I'm a collegefag and it's a standard 40hr/week internship at a tech company.

I don't understand what you're asking, cause you didn't ask anything.
If you're asking what to buy, then buy Muramasa Rebirth and its DLC, or get Natural Doctrine if you're tired of your casual baby RPG's like Neptunia and Moe Chronicles.

If you're asking what out of your library to play, then play Dragon's Crown.

Hell, there's so much stuff for the Vita this year and I don't have any money.

Virtue's Last Reward, I bought it from the last sale. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, SAO Hollow Fragment.

GalGun Double Peace (the special edition), God Eater Resurrection, Adventures of Mana, Dungeon Travelers 2, Atelier Sophie,Odin Sphere, Danganronpa 1 & 2, Corpse Party BD, Monster Monpiece, One Piece Burning Blood, Dragon Quest Builders and a bigger SD card.

Senran Kagura Estival Versus, it was enjoyable, I don't have enough time to play thanks to the University.

Maybe Dungeon Travelers 2 since is on sale on a shop close here but Gun Gal DP is almost here and I really want those panties.

Sorry I fucked up the post and hit enter after I finished the list but before I asked the question. I hoped nobody would notice and you would all just get the implication.

Those are the games I have on the Vita right now. Which ones should I play to rekindle my desire to keep playing games?

whoops I didn't see muramasa rebirth. i also didn't see you said you already played dragon's crown.
i recommend playing arcana heart 3 in that case, or buying project diva f 2 so you have both of them

we both fucked up our posts.
definitely don't play freedom wars, or it'll do the opposite of rekindling love for vita games.

ebay.com/itm/The-new-PSP-VITA-4-3-inch-8G-RAM-multi-function-32-bit-arcade-game-MP5-MP4-MP3/222146919407?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid=555012&algo=PW.MBE&ao=2&asc=36866&meid=eb843cc0fd3b44bcbb4f2fc8582b667f&pid=100034&rk=8&rkt=8&sd=361509322381

kek

I'm excited for it. It looks like it's gonna bring back the best gameplay bits from both Lost Song and Hollow Fragment, while touching up whatever little bits needed touching up so I'd hope.

I love that they're bringing back the dating thing from Hollow Fragment. I hope you can carry a girl bridal-style for more than 5~7 seconds this time around though.

I like the new character outfits too.

As for releases, in North America; PSVita is digital-only while PS4 has a standard retail and a $150 collector's edition, pic 2-related. However, EUROPE gets a physical release for both versions. I don't know if they get the PS4 Collector's Edition or not, however.

I thought so too. I can't believe how high-cut around her leg's that outfit is I love it. I hope it's an additional/unlockable outfit, a bunny outfit for each girl. That's probably just from one of those goofy fanservice side-story CGs though, so I doubt the actual costumes will be a thing.

Play Sorcery Saga, avoid Freedom Wars; it's boring as fuck. I only paid $5 for it and I regret it. It's so dull.

Fuckin lol. Chinese knock-offs never fail to amuse

8 gigabytes of RAM!

i agree with that guy in recommending sorcery saga just so you have two people suggesting the same thing to make your choice easier

Do we have a source for that? I know game.co.uk has it listed. I want something official from Namco Bandai UK before I get my hopes up.

Hopefully Asterisk War gets a physical in Asia. It probably will since every Namco Bandai game is getting a English physical in Asia.

CURRY LOLI IT IS

Incidentally I played it a little, forever ago, and could never ever find the soundtrack anywhere. So I bought it. It money dollars. If anybody would like it here it is:
mediafire.com/folder/0tyabxw6sso6p/Sei_Madou_Monogatari_OST

I apologize, I didn't mean to make it sound so definitive, it's more of an educated guess/assumption. See, PlayAsia has it available for pre-order on their site, the PSVita EU version, while the NA version for Vita isn't available. I don't know if it was ever officially confirmed or not yet.

Nice! And thanks friendo. I need to play Curry Loli myself, but I'm all wrapped up in SAO for now.

Any news on the God Eater and Gravity Rush sequels? Have they been released yet?

Gravity Rush 2 is PS4-exclusive, God Eater 2 for Vita is Digital-only in North America, and releases in September iirc

Awesome thanks! I thought it was gonna be a couple low quality discs, but being one good lossless one means I won't feel like I'm missing anything.

Are there physical releases available for Senran Kagura games other than Estival Versus?

SV has one, but I think it's gotten pricey. Bon Apetit Xseed claimed was too lewd for one or some shit, so it's either PSN or importing a copy which I think is split up weird in Japan or something. The DS ones SK1 is available physically in English in EU and SK2 was released physically in NA.

...

fuckshit why is the japanese version of this game so expensive everywhere

So how will I solve the sudoku on the PC version? Do I need to turn the monitor upside down too?

Because Vanillaware are cunts and didn't include Japanese audio.

Yeah, I saw that. It's a special edition I think. I might buy it still, but are they ever going to do standard editions for these games in the future?

Was it released on US 3DS or am I remembering something that never happened?

Bon Appetit is the Vita rhythm game. SK2 is the 3DS one that got released after it.

Better get a physical release

Aaahhhh fuck
So it's like the Neptunia games then? I didn't mind the dub because some of the English voices are cute enough too, but discovering that some scenes weren't voiced was dealbreaking so I had to switch to the nip immediately.
That's disappointing, I'm sure they put at least some effort into it, but I will never hear it because I am compelled to change the audio track now. Localisers should stop being super cheap jews, I know it's niche but it's surely not niche enough to warrant cutting out voice scenes for no reason.

I highly doubt it. Xseed only offers certain Vita games physically with their LE. It's stupid, but being Xseed we're lucky we got one at all. I don't mind it since they're just a soundtrack and artbook usually, but there's things I'd rather have them for besides Senran Kagura.

Are there any good games released in the past year that aren't traditional turn-based RPGs or VNs?

You forgot the dungeon crawlers.

Gundam Breaker 3
The Last Blade 2
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir

9917522 doesn't count.

Life is a battle field by fujimaru

EDF 2 looks like a port of a EDF 2 portable which is a port of GDF (or EDF 2 in nippon) from ps2. EDF 2p got local coop and looks like EDF 2IFPS got an air raider and internet play, though I'm not sure if that's all of it. EDF17 is an xbox360 port which came way later after GDF so its kinda newer and is closer to EDF25 than GDF is, though it doesn't have an air raider nor fencer.

I'm considering it not for the netplay, since its impossible to find anyone to play with for either of them regardless, its just that I have both GDF and EDF2p. I gave up playing GDF because EDF2p is portable and is pretty much the same game and if I went for EDF2 IFPS I'd have to give it up again to play this version of the game.

Those are okay as long as they're more like Shiren the Wanderer, not like Etrian Oddysey

what if they're like brandish?

Xseed's physical releases like Z2 Chaos' and Senran's are all 'LE' with artbooks and soundtracks for example.
And they're all in the $50-$60 range of the standard game, at that. That's pretty damn nice, really.
You can get Z2's Banana edition for $20 right now, and the Senrans were 50/60 at launch, but Shinovi skyrocketed after it started to run out.

Pretty much. Talk about lazy. Reminds me how Bamco didn't dub the Character Quest sections in Tales of Legendia.
They did get better, though: Zestiria has dual audio and their dubs are all complete - any line that was voiced in Japanese, is voiced in English too.
Berseria's having dual audio too, and this time the original JP opening will be kept as well.

kek i did the same thing.
the only reason i bought the CD was for kuu's theme. i absolutely adore kuu's theme, i think it's so charismatic and adorable.
then the same week it was delivered, someone uploaded it and shared it on vita general. i bet it was you. this was three years ago that it happened.

Yeah, pricewise it's extremely fair, but I'd still just prefer to have the option to buy them separate. I don't really like Senran Kagura that much and I'd rather put the extra money towards stuff for some other game. I'll still take the limited physical thing over no physical any day though.

That song was stuck in my head like crazy when I first heard it. That "i have so much love to give" theme song for what's his name was too.

If only you had bought Conception II's OST instead. I'd love you right now.

Scrolling down the PSN store right now.
That's going back to December, from what I could spot or give a shit/actually know about.

does the GTA PS vita collection have any changes to it over the PSP ones

Square, follow suit and do this with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

>Tanooki uses his enormous ballsack to attack and defend when not hiding behind illusions or shielding with that statue thing.
>Entire mansionin the background of the battle proves to just be an illusion created by his family jewels.
I kind of wish that guy was playable now since it seems like it would be hilarious to actually control ("Press Square to smack enemies with your overgrown testicles"). This game has also continued to surprise me in that it's only rated T, but I suppose having enemies drawn from mythology gives it some leeway in what it can do and still not wind up M-rated.

Namco's gotten better about that recently; pretty sure that Graces f and both Xillia games were all given the same voicing treatment they originally saw in Japan, in that every line voiced out there is voiced here as well.

Legendia was an odd case, in that for the first time, skits were voiced in English, but the second half the game itself wasn't. Heard before it had to do with the voice actors feeling they weren't being paid enough to voice what they felt was "optional" content (in that it wasn't main story or whatever) and Namco was fine with telling them fuck off.

XSEED's pretty cool like that. During the later days of the PS2 being current, when they brought Wild Arms 5 over, they made a 10th Anniversary version and included the game and an 80 page full color artbook as a boxed bundle, and only wanted $40 for the whole thing at release if memory serves. Not sure what the average new PS2 game was going for at that time (the PS3 being out here already at the time), but it seems like a nice way to get extra with the game without having had to pay more.

Besides maybe a change to controls, I doubt it. You should look up some reviews or something.

you should check out the movie pom poko, all of the protagonists are tanuki and it showcases a lot of their mythology and magic.

when i was writing this post, i initially wrote "it's all about tanuki mythology and magic", but i went and corrected myself because it isn't. it's all about miyazaki yet again getting on his pedestal and saying "le humans are the devil". the plot is 100% hippie propaganda. i was angry the entire time.
but, it's still worth watching to see tanukis use their balls to make fucking operational vehicles and weaponry.

You're a good man user.

I wanna say $50, but it might have been $40 later on. Either way that seems cheap. I like it when companies throw first print bonuses in. It has way more value to me than some stupid DLC or something.

I wish FFXII was getting a Vita version. Apparently, people in Japan were complaining about it being PS4 only, so it would be nice if SE would at least say something.

If I had FFXII on the Vita, I'd rarely put the thing down. I'd also have a never ending backlog. Between X-2, XII, Chrono Trigger, and Pokemon Red, I'd just be replaying shit forever.

How come? I'm just curious is all, I personally enjoyed Gold a lot more, or the DS remakes.

Yeah. Unfortunately that costs money to actually produce (beyond the digital design/layout sort of things an artbook has), and most companies these days seem to just prefer digital bonuses.

Still have my old Pokemon Emerald Rayquaza tin preorder bonus from back when the GBA was current. Use it to store memory cards and/or money.

I'd honestly be curious. If they did wind up making a Vita version as well, would they leave that version in Japan in favor of PS4 only out here (given how they seem to dislike localizing for the Vita), or would they bring it west for the system, given FFX HD came over for the Vita?

Been meaning to get around to XII sometime, and Final Fantasy more in general I suppose (mainly played some of IV and VI at this point). Can one jump into XII whenever in the series, or is it better to play it later on down the line?

Romhacks, bro. Although I'd play HGSS if I could. No DS emulators on the Vita, though. But I guess that's what DS is for, eh?

Unless the game you're playing is an actual sequel (and with the exception of XIII's games, there's only really 2), you can play whatever game in whatever order you like. Doesn't really matter, since every FF is pretty different.

Good point. Not like a DS is that expensive these days either.

It probably would depend on how their other Vita games perform. Hopefully World of Final Fantasy sells good well enough to recapture their attention and get us some games without having to complain and beg on Twitter.
I keep on thinking about buying Adventure of Mana. It looks really fun and I want to play it, but I just bought a game and I'm not exactly rich. When I think about it costing less than I expected and that it might help me see some other games I kinda feel like I should though. Most people probably spend way more than $14 on a summer weekend. Maybe I should just treat myself? Fuck, I dunno.

Emulate the GB version and see if you like it.
It won't.

I was thinking more in terms of mechanics than story and being able to go back to older ones down the line, but with main series Final Fantasy being more turn based than real time, I suppose it's less of a concern than fluidity and such in a real time JRPG series.

Silly how pricy HGSS even is these days. I still have my old copy of HG, and when I did find a cheap copy of SS (Found one for about $12 when it was averaging $50 or so complete), I gave it to a friend.

I guess Gen IV mechanics and Gen II nostalgia make for high demand, even for Pokemon.

Well, $14's not too much, and when i'm out and about and I see a game that's got some interest to me at that sort of price (especially if that's low compared to what it could be going for) I'm fine with dropping the money, and I don't have a lot of spending money in general either (which makes finding nice deals all the sweeter). Digital only games though are a bit of another story; I'll usually wait for a sale, but in this case the game's pretty low in price to begin with.

Still waiting to hear how the translation quality is, and how it compares with the prior remake/reimagining, Sword of Mana. Does Adventure of Mana have both character's routes anyhow, given that Sword of Mana added the option to play as either the boy or girl with a different take on events between the two if memory serves?

Literally does not matter at all. That would be entirely up to whether or not you actually like the older turned-based/ATB systems.

I think FFX sold well on it, but I suppose people are pretty crazy for that game and most people probably have no idea what WoFF even is.

I don't think so, but I could've missed it or something I guess. I never really pay attention to those options unless it's something like P3P where it changes the whole game (it just sucks for that game because I like flirting with the girls and I doubt they let her do that).

Yeah, I hate digital. If there was a physical version I'd probably just import it instead. It's a shame there's not. At least the game is cheap and only like 500mb or something. Paying $40 for some game that's so huge I can't even leave it on my card isn't too appealing to me. I never actually even did it before.

Cool, I'll look into it sometime then. Not sure what version to play through, as I've heard both FFXII Vanilla and the IZJS versions have their pros and cons.

I think with Sword of Mana, both routes had some exclusive scenes and sections, different dialogue, and partners you can take with you. I'm just curious as to which version they were using as basis for AoM, be it Seiken Densetsu GB or Sword of Mana.

many thanks and wishes, user.

vita means life

Eh, I lost all respect I had for those bastards as soon as they went back to "correct" certain frames for being "unrealistic" long after the game's full release. They've sipped on the koolaid already, i'm not gonna give them another nickel. Indivisible is gonna be shit too. And it's not the actual frame altering/what the removed that bothers me, it's the fact of the matter that they felt the need to in the first place. There was nothing wrong with it in the first place until some tumblrina that worked there deemed it "problematic" that you could see panty shots of girls in a mini skirt or whatever else when they jump, kick, and do other crazy shit.

Considering they showed that their rough animations for Indivisible were nude until the ESRB told them to give them spandex since they streamed their dev sessions, I doubt the Skullgirls changes was SJW shit. They even said they didn't care about nudity.

I think they were being honest that they just wanted the animations to be more realistic.

Yeah that was pretty BS.

Hey it's me the guy who can't into spoilers

I was referring to when Skullgirls got "corrected", but Indivisible just looks very…unfun. The demo sure as hell wasn't fun. I never knew about that nude animations and ESRB telling them to put her in spandex thing though.

looks like you nailed 'em this time, friendo

T-Thanks

I notice you gentlemen have been posting second best girl and her real life form is better. If you could begin posting best girl, that would be ideal, thanks.

I've done some reading up on the new game coming out, I was ignoring it since I assumed it was PS4 exclusive. From what I see it is taking the good bits from both games in terms of combat which interests me, and you might finally be able to play as your oc donut steel without missing events.
Also, am I the only one still absolutely platinum mad that they fucked loyal Vita adopters in the ass by disappearing Gravity Rush 2 and then reappearing it as a Pissfour exclusive?

Yes user. I'll do as you say.

Pretty much yes.

Admittedly I can't say I'm TOO mad.

Why not both?

Certainly seems to be the case. I'm pretty excited for it. I hope there's plenty of special outfits. Or maybe decoration/costumes that can be worn over armor? So that you see the costume and not the armor. I'd love something like that.

I was initially, when the news came out that it wasn't gonna be on Vita. I've moved past that since then since I wound up buying a PS4 anyway

I'd still prefer to get it for Vita, but that's not even an option now, and they're fucking over pretty much anyone who ever bought a Vita, since they were almost guaranteed to buy Gravity Rush, with it being one of the cheaper and best rated Vita titles. I swear, Sony wants the Vita to die.

It seems like it yeah.

The Vita still does decently enough in Japan though compared to the west, right? Seems kind of weird that they'd push for Gravity Rush 2 to be PS4, unless SCEA had enough sway for them to do so.

I suppose SCEJ could also be wanting to get the PS4 to do better out there as well, since I hear that compared to the west they'd been slower to adopt it, especially when the PS3 has kept seeing new releases as multiplats.

Has anyone found any PS4 games that actually look and control well on remote play?

The only one that turned out alright for me was D3.

I'm pretty convinced of it myself, honestly.

Yeah, handhelds always do better in Japan than consoles it seems like, so they may be pushing the PS4 harder with this, to get people who liked Gravity Rush to buy a PS4 to play it's sequel people like me, who did exactly that. I took the bait; hook, line, and sinker. Until then I've got Star Ocean 5 and Samurai Warriors 4-II at least.

D3? And as for remote play, I usually don't bother with it in the first place. I tried Bloodborne and Dishonored, those both were abysmal on Remote Play. I've yet to try something like Omega Quintet or FFX/X-2 HD though.

More or less.

They most likely did.

Same really.

The only game I ever used remote play for is KoF 2000. It worked out pretty fine.

I'm holding off until there's more on the system I like, and various games that are PS3/PS4/Vita multiplat being announced as PS4 exclusive in the west doesn't help that for me.

A new Wild Arms or Shadow Hearts (fat chance of the latter happening though) would have a certain amount of weight to it for me, but I generally tend to get a new system when it's already somewhat old and has a decent sized library to back it up.

Yeah. I wouldn't have gotten mind if it wasn't under $350. Of course, then they announce the fucking PS4.5/Neo. Live and learn I guess.
I've still had some fun with mine though.

But yeah, I'd encourage you, and anyone else considering a PS4, to wait another 5~8 months at least. If nothing else, the price will have gone down some more by then. There'll be a few more games out by then too I think. I don't recall if they gave Gravity Rush 2 a western release date or not. I know they've confirmed it for the West in general though. I'm gonna splurge for that SAO Hollow Realization Limited Edition too, since the North America won't be getting a Vita version

What game has the best combat system? Pretty much the only thing I care for right now.

I feel very lucky mine was a gift right now,

I'm assuming you're referring to an action game and not an RPG.

Soul Sacrifice Delta comes to mind. Gravity Rush can be a bit clunky at times, but is pretty fun. Gundam Breaker 3 would have to have my vote though, since there's so many different weapons and special moves you can use and the like.

Nice! I wouldn't feel too bad about my purchase if it had been about $60 cheaper, honestly.

And I never had a PS3 either, so I just jumped straight to the PS4, since all the newer weebshit is coming out on it, if not on Vita. I didn't account for the PS3 still getting games so much though. I may still buy a PS3 yet, and get those Yakuza games and other stuff, since it's so cheap to get one now. I wish I could just CFW the PS3, but I've heard they're a fucking nightmare to CFW/pirate on.

> I may still buy a PS3 yet, and get those Yakuza games and other stuff, since it's so cheap to get one now. I wish I could just CFW the PS3, but I've heard they're a fucking nightmare to CFW/pirate on.
PS3 has a lot of good titles on it if you ever deiced to get one.

That dwarven zeppelin mid-boss fight in odin sphere was the most fun I've had in a video game since, uh, well since the gashadokuro boss fight in the muramasa DLC i guess.
that came out autistic. i meant it was hype as fuck and fun.
seriously though if you don't already own muramasa rebirth and its DLC, what the fuck is wrong with you? how can you hear music like this and not NEED to have it? youtube.com/watch?v=72HI8wrk6nQ
holy shit man goddamn boy. vanillaware is my man. vanillaware can do no wrong.

So I bought a Vita when it came out, but then some things happened. When I finally got released I had forgotten about it. Anyways I was cleaning out my closet today and I found it. What are some good games to get? Can I buy them on the little online store? Can I get the dancing game with the lolis from animes?

The PS3's got a good amount of worthwhile games at this point, and with the PS4 not having PS3 backwards compatibility (to my knowledge), getting one is worth it unless you plan to wait until an eventual emulator or something.

Big issue is whether you want, and can find, a cheap system either with CFW already, or that can have CFW put on it.

It depends on the game. I've been playing Tales of Zestiria exclusively on my Vita and it fits so well that it almost feels like it was made for it. I even saw this video afterwards, which kinda sucks, but was funny he plays Zestiria on it too. I have one of those grips that adds L2 and R2 buttons though too, so it helps for some things.

SJWs sometimes diffeerntiate between fanservice and "basketful nudity." Either way, I don't care what the reasoning is. I'm not buying their products after that.

*tasteful nudity

Fucking spell check.

Muramasa Rebirth
Caligula
Nothing
Nothing atm

Depends on what you like genre/gameplay-style wise. There's an image in the OP of what's out on the system as of the end of April, though it's not exactly a recommendation image. Anyhow, just saying maybe see what there catches your eye.

Sounds like the sort of cheekiness Nautlius would use to get shit past the ESRB in Shadow Hearts: Covenant, given items like Mr. Swan.

I often think nowadays that Shadow hearts would have a very different localization.

Yeah, I've got a whole wishlist on amazon for it. If I were to ever come into a good extra couple hundred bucks somehow, I'd definitely get a PS3.

Yeah, finding one that's already CFW'd would probably cost a bit extra, but would be worth it. I don't know exactly how you go about CFWing one, but I've heard around that it's a fucking nightmare, and that some dude who was part of the PS3 CFW scene almost completely ruined it, or something like that.

why do you watch CGR? all of his videos are the same. "it's a nice fun game!" he says about every game ever. then he'll say "el camino" meme. then comes the "should have released this on the vectrex" meme. "you'll like this game–go buy it." video over.

>Yeah, I've got a whole wishlist on amazon for it. If I were to ever come into a good extra couple hundred bucks somehow, I'd definitely get a PS3.

Awesome then.

I don't, I just stumbled across that when I was watching videos about the Neo Geo Pocket Color. I don't think I heard the things you're talking about, but the couple I saw from him didn't seem very good either. The only YouTube videos I watch regularly is Game Sack and while it's much better than the other stuff I've seen, it often still leaves something to be desired.

It probably would. XSEED I might have some faith in considering they handled From the New World and left stuff like Gerard and his fellow ass pirate intact, though I'm not sure if they would these days (XSEED's pretty decent compared to other company's in general in my opinion, but there's a difference in that having been done way back when they were pretty much unknown compared to now). And with Shadow Hearts and SH: Covenant, either Midway or Blaustein (the lead translator for all three games) acknowledged they were niche games that trying to pander to mainstream customers (if only just mainstream JRPG fans, anyhow) wasn't going to work for, and as such left them as intact as possible in their weirdness, with a few changes here and there anyhow (such as changing Uru to Yuri here, though at least that name change shows research into the character rather than replacing it with something random just for the hell of it). I just wish some references to mythology or literature had been better caught, as occasionally they seemed to have slipped up on that (such as Shub Niggurath being "Jeb Niglas" out here).

I'd honestly think that if an HD collection was ever made, it either wouldn't come west since it's [CURRENT YEAR], or could very well have changes to the script/content in localization so as to not cause a shitstorm. And hell, despite various people having made requests, they have never been put on the PSN either. I think the games have had a bit of a refuge in their obscurity, to be honest.

I'm not sure of the specifics, but as far as I know, you either need a PS3 with OFW at 3.55 or lower, or a system that can be downgraded back to that. After that I think you'd just install CFW from a flash drive, or something. I think wololo might have the actual specifics; seem like their kind of thing they'd cover.

ah. i assumed you watched him regularly because he used to be a really big hit on Holla Forums, people would mention him in practically every other thread a few years ago. i hadn't seen any links to his videos here in quite some time so i thought i'd try asking again what the appeal is.

I still need to get S:G, and I definitely want the Vita version. Unless it's a +18 game which would be censored otherwise, VNs are a lot more convenient and comfy on portables.

I only played Skullgirls via a friend a couple times and found it just 'ok'. I didn't mind much about the edited sprites since normally my attention span wouldn't really make the difference THAT noticeable when fighting, but what ticked me off was Lab Zero's attitude when doing this stuff.
At the very least they made those neat drivers that allow most fighting games to use the USB fighsticks and USB joypads, which is cool.

That's a shame really.

I'll have to look into it then.

Nah, it's not a +18, so nothing's censored on the Vita release.

Yeah, that's more what I was getting at, their attitude towards it all and how they went out of their way to do it in the first place. The sprites themselves weren't hardly the issue.

I still think it was pretty pointless.

They're not hard to work on, but remember the basics of CFW:
Best route is to get any console that has 3.55 or lower installed on it. You'll be on CFW in 5 minutes.
Consoles that fit this criteria are from mid 2011 and earlier: Phats and slims up to CECH25.

Second best case is to get a console that had 3.55 at some point in time and was upgraded. You get someone to downgrade it for you.
Downgrading consoles to 3.55 that are post mid-2011 will softbrick them, so don't try that.

In short:
Phats - all of them can be downgraded
Slims CECH20xx, CECH21xx - all of them can be downgraded
Slims CECH25xx - most of them can be downgraded, depends on the datecode (check hackinformer's PS3 cfw guide for details)
Slims CECH30xx and superslims - out of the question, forget about these.

It's worth getting CFW on it - you can undub games, get all DLCs (even stuff that was 'exclusive to Japan') and play the best version of Tales of Vesperia in english.

You mean Miracle Girls Festival? Sure thing, Vita is region free… But you'll need to set up a PSN account for the game's region in order to get DLC for it.

The development of exploits and CFW was shaky at first, but once the 'master set' of keys was found, they were leaked on purpose to prevent the chinese hackers from profiting off it. CFW is easy as shit today - you install it like a regular sony update with a USB stick.

Here's the hackinformer guide, use it to know if a console you want will do the trick:
hackinformer.com/PlayStationGuide/PS3/DEVICE_PS3.html

Someone actually recommended his videos to me in a thread about Game Sack ending and I forgot about it until I heard the opening when I watched that. (When I asked what it was someone said "he tours the galaxy reviewing everything" or some shit.)
If you know of any that have well recorded gameplay for a wide variety of games and aren't annoying I wouldn't mind checking them out. That's why I watch that game sack show, since it has good quality with things like wonder boy / adventure island differences and localization / console changes and neat stuff like that.

Exactly. They went out of their way to change something so petty in the first place and were major assholes about it to boot.

So a phat on 3.55 or lower would be the most ideal then. The Phats are also backwards compatible with PS2 games aren't they?

Oh thank goodness. I'm a bit retarded when it comes to stuff like this, but this looks pretty damned simple.

Thanks user! I screencapped this as well in case I ever forget.

Yeah more or less. They really shouldn't did it.

While I'd like to think XSEED (if they'd still have the series rights; not sure if they only got access to FtNW for western publishing or if, when Midway no longer wanted it here, they got past rights as well) could potentially just reuse the existing scripts for an HD rerelease, with maybe touching up stuff like monster names and terminology that was incorrect the first time around, a part of me thinks it might be a matter of it being a different time now than the when the games originally came out. PS2 games seemed to get away with a fair amount that might not fly that well these days, unless the company knows controversy can generate interest, the way Dragon's Crown just seemed to benefit from the usual suspects being angry about it. Would be funny to see if some of the sites that gave favorable reviews to the series in the past wound up shitting on a rerelease because of the change in climate.

Hell, From the New World was only the second game XSEED ever brought over, so I'd suspect they were still pretty unknown back then, and would likely have had to take what they could get to help build their resume (helps that Wild Arms after WA2 has generally had third party translating/publishing anyhow, and Midway had abandoned publishing Shadow Hearts at that point, with both having existing western fanbases). Angering fans by cutting shit likely wouldn't have helped (and from what I've seen, they even contracted Blaustein to translate with them, given he was experienced with the series prior translations already, showing a good amount of care for the existing fanbase; more than O3 Entertainment would for series fans with Chaos Wars).

Question: I seem to recall hearing some people say that you can use a CFW PS3 and play PS2 games that way, but how well does that work out for the systems that don't have the built in hardware backwards compatibility? Just wondering since the 80 GB only had software backwards compatibility (which is a bit hit or miss as to what it can play and how well it plays), while the later models stripped the PS2 backwards compatibility out entirely. I mean, does it require a version of PCSX2 or something to be put on the hard drive?

i don't watch video game stuff anymore.
the only youtuber i watch once in a while that i think anyone here would like is techmoan. he doesn't do any video game stuff but it'd interest you anyway, i'm sure. he does videos about extremely rare and obscure technology. i'm mostly interested in his movie related tech stuff, i collect failed forms of movies myself.

other than him, youtube to me is exclusively anti-humor central now. i've binge watched joey's world tour videos for six hours straight one day. that's what happens when you're addicted to anti-humor and you already finished all of the good shit like million dollar extreme's vids.

that pic is funny as fuck. i sometimes wonder what the value of this current era's collectibles is going to be like. do you think there'll be guys that look in antique shops for star wars episode 7 merch? i can't picture it. it's all shit.

i meant in the future, like 20-40 years from now. maybe the price of PS3 games will go up in the future.

Only the phats with 4 usb ports (CECHA and CECHB) are hardware-compatible with PS2, which means you can run burned DVDs directly with CFW.
Slims can play PS2 games, though! It's via emulation and CFW magic so there are some games with minor or major issues.
With this method you can stick a burned DVD in and the system will prompt you to copy it to the internal HDD to play (unlike the BC phats, you can only run PS2 games from isos in the HDD).

If you already have a good PC that can emulate PS2 well (or a chipped PS2) I'd skip the phat and get a slim instead - they use less power, and are more efficient at cooling.
In case you do get a phat though, make sure you get new thermal paste on it to prevent overheating issues. These very first phats are the most power hungry and considering their age, cleaning up internal dust is a must.

All PS3s have an internal emulator by Sony that is used when you play the 'PS2 Classics' line. CFW exploits basically allow you to stick ANY game to the PS2 Classics emulation system. Advantages compared to a regular PS2 are that you can use wireless controllers and virtual memcards.

If you have a CECHA or CECHB PS3, CFW will skip the PS2 classics system and run the game directly.

Most games work fine on emu, but some have display or sound issues - others crash on specific parts. Current CFWs have a 'gameshark' like system where you can use a 'CONFIG' file to specify some modifications in the game's memory that can fix some of these issues (think live ASM hacks).

So as far as compatibility through the internal emulator, would it basically be the same as the 80gb's PS2 backwards compatibility? IE: one could use Wikipedia's compatibility listing page to determine if something's liable to work or not? Because some of the glitches listed there, even for games that are technically playable with it, seem like they'd be rather annoying (such as how it lists that SH: C and SH: FtNW freeze for a while when using the analog stick).

Yeah, you can use that as a guide. the 80gig is software based just like the slims.

Here's a separate list that you can consult, too: psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List

The ones worth the most money will probably be stuff that most people aren't even noticing, but are already expensive. I'd like to own the English version of Aquanaut's Holiday for PS3, but whatever it costs has to be too much and it will only go up in years to come.

from tonight's gal*gun panel at AX

I don't get it though

whoops totally wrong picture too. I can't do anything right.

Holy shit I love it.

This just plasters the shit on the faces of all those namely NISA localizers who pre-censor before even submitting it to the ESRB.

The point was that they submitted the game and got the M rating with NO issues, NOTHING was needed to be changed according to ESRB.

A lot of censorious fucks keep claiming that they have to change games due to ratings reasons, even though the ESRB is generally fine with this kind of stuff.

do you have a link or archive, I need this for future censorship apologists

That was the source. I was there.

Matt Papa also outright said most censorship today has nothing to do with the ESRB, citing Criminal Girls 2 as an example.

I quote "if Gal*Gun can have no problems, I can't see what would"

Who's Matt Papa?

...

Also, as a side note, it somehow got through australian classification.

classification.gov.au/Pages/View.aspx?sid=KWcf70inbI9NBFMyPWB8HQ%3d%3d&ncdctx=A2FBM9BzKZuPALbVMgyQBlQ07ifLoIR1FvqaQROm+IEdzf2RrJqrFc4vuehryV+7

He's an Associate Producer at Inti Creates, as well as the sole localizer for Gal*Gun: Double Peace.

Him, along with Geraint Evans, were the ones that really made Gal*Gun happen. The duo is absolutely insane and I have a shitton of respect for both of them.

HOW DOES THAT GET THROUGH BUT MEIQ DOESN'T?

Holy shit how

Rad. They sound pretty based and seem aware of who their audience is. Props to them. I hope they bring over other stuff in the near future. Between them and Idea Factory International, who knows what we could see?

That does have me rather perplexed as well.
I guess because none of the characters are bonafide lolis? are they? I haven't seen the whole list of waifus for GGDP

The girls probably sexually assault each other in MeiQ

They're all high school girls. Literally all of them.

Interesting fact about the Gal*Gun localization that Matt had trouble with. In the Japanese version the devil character used romaji DEATH (caps included) in place of です. Naturally, it's really fucking hard to translated something that situational yet hilarious into English. He ended up having her use the word HELL (in all caps) a lot to compensate. Not a perfect translation, but it's really impossible to translate the Japanese here (which is a shame)

How the fuck is an Atelier game more violent than a fucking god of war title?

Seriously, what kind of brain dead people are rating video games there?

The same way an original game gets a PG rating while the next gen re-release gets an R rating.

classification.gov.au/Pages/View.aspx?sid=QWbxbZrSDeXSOmGJQlISIA%3d%3d&ncdctx=EMpAN22xxb2nwL+4M+%2fkPt+E0kDbDiESslvpnDjplntBCwc+OWj44BX3aQRWIXNl

every time someone posts anything about the Australian rating board; my head hurts more and more

Interesting. But wait, if it means DEATH, why wouldn't he just put DEATH then? Or is it the japanese context that makes it kind of impossible to translate?

It's a very losse system based on how offended they think "reasonable adults" would be by the content. The people doing the classification keep shifting around.

It's the juxtaposition of it all. Instead of saying すごいですね! She would say すごいDEATHね!

The fact that she just drops an entirely different language in there is the joke. It's impossible to translate, since Japanese people have enough knowledge of English to get the joke, but similar can't be said of other ethnicities or cultural groups.

Because that quirky girl in anime who always grabs on the other girl's breasts when they tell her not to is actually committing the worst type of violence. Sexual violence. If someone chops off your arms you might be able to get them reattached, but you can never un-grope emotional scarring she causes.

...

This sure has a lot of ratings for something I never even heard of. You guys play a lot of "Invokers"?
store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/invokers-tournament/cid=UP4128-PCSE00637_00-G000000000000533?smcid=nav_ps-store:offers

holy shit, all the english versions on ebay are $300

Yeah and with garage sales out of the picture all my hope is gone.

You may have to settle for Endless Ocean.

Sad, but true. I wish there was more ocean exploration games. With today's technology and the right budget amazing things could be done. I wonder if we'll ever see Ecco again.

Is Sanic Racing worth owning?

my four year old nephew loves it, i'm sure you will too

I was seriously just playing that game. It looks nice and runs okay for the most part, but the game is fucking hard. Maybe I just need more practice or something. The shit is way harder than Mario Kart that's for sure. I always thought people were sissy's about Rainbow Road, but this fucking game just doesn't work for me.

Im thinking about getting Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart from the sale, but I just have to ask before I do, is the translation bad for it?
Ive heard many times that there have been bad translations for the neptunia games, and im not sure if this is one of them

I bought EDF17 and innstalled, ill play with you when its done

There are some suspect lines, but even aside from the localisation the characters feel a bit off key because the base story was written by a different team and is catered toward the player being a character that Noire likes.

Shiren and the rest of the Fushigi no Dungeon games are roguelikes, while dungeon crawlers are more like Sekaiju no MeiQ, Demon Gaze, or most recently Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain.

The only system outdoing the Vita is the 3DS, even the Wii U has nothing on the Vita. The thing is, Sony top brass have drunk the Kool Aid and think the vidya industry is all about the West and are tripping over their feet trying to claim the Western market at the cost of the system actually making money.

So would you say its passable then?
Its not really like the story is the selling point of these games

tried the demo for 3 hours and it's fucking awesome. I'm really tempted to buy it now, is it worth the money?

What the fuck constitute the differences between "sexualized imagery and gameplay," "strong sexualized imagery and gameplay," and "high impact sexualized imagery and gameplay" anyhow?

My semi-educated guess is the amount of skin shown, amount of touching and how graphic descriptions of lewd acts are. Shit is vague as fuck. The first Dead or Alive Xtreme beach volleyball was PG for fuck's sale.

I'm going to assume it's a very specific case-by-case thing.

Though why Atelier went into the "High-impact" part is beyond me.

Mostly just how the current board members out there feel about something then, maybe?

Pretty sure that's how all the ratings boards work

Pretty much.

Maybe, but I would think that there would be more concise reasoning behind why a game exactly gets what. I seem to recall hearing the ESRB at least lists specifics if you delve hard enough, but those Australia images seem intentionally vague, with just a general "offense" and "how bad it is."

They have them to pay lip service to, but they're always designed to be as open to interpretation as possible so they can bullshit whatever they want.

It's pretty much how most games that would have been M (CoD, God/Gears of War) managed to slip under a comfy MA15+ without edits, before the introduction of the R18+ rating for games.

*would have been M in the US

Someone recorded this

For the love of god tell me someone recorded this

That would seem to be the case for Autralia

Yeah, ESRB seems to hold truer to their guidelines instead of just "muh feelans", though they've had a few oddball ratings before. Like Devil May Cry 4, DOA4, and the Halo Trilogy all got M instead of T, but not stuff like Dragon's Crown or The Borne Conspiracy, for example.

Of course in the USA, ratings don't seem to much matter anymore since most parents just buy whatever the fuck their kid wants, hence all the CoD, Battlefield, and Halo babbies and kiddies playing GTAIV & GTAV.

Conception and one of the Atelier games, Rorona i think
Way too much
Jet set radio again
Nada because im broke

To be fair, those are all franchises that targetted the 2-5 year old audience to begin with

Right.

Hello

Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Damn. You should get one.

Sounds nice. Would it be difficult to downgrade myself? And Tales of Vesperia has been translated? Very nice. I have the 360 version, but if I ever get my PS3 downgraded, I'll have to play that.

I was mad.

This game looks great. I might have to pick up a copy one day.

The downgrade process itself is not hard, it's just running some programs.
However, the setup is the issue:

I heavily recommend finding someone to do it for you so you can save the cost of the flasher itself.
Hackinformer's guide has the instructions if you wanna check them out. Just select a PS3 model and choose a version higher then 3.56 when it asks you which one does it have.

Remote play, you say? Ohoho, CFW unlocks it for any game you want. I tried Vesperia myself, and it was pretty neat. I couldn't get Revengeance to work, though.
There are guides available that show you how to modify the EBOOTs of games inside CFW so you can activate remote play with different compression schemes so that a game that didn't previously work would then work. I only tried running MG:R with the default 'forced' remote play, so there's still chance I could make it work.

For burgers in this thread: Gamestop is doing a "buy two used, get one free" deal for the rest of Sunday. Managed to get DT2 for free.

Unless they sell used PSN wallet codes I don't want any.

No bueno.

It sucks how the newer games are all store pick-up only.

Well, fuck me. Gamestop has some good prices, but availability is the real problem.

Got that, Demon Gaze, and El shaddai. And there was free shipping online for over $35 too. Now here is hoping that they come complete.

You can also try online, but as I just mentioned you need to spend a certain amount for free shipping.

If I buy online, there's no guarantee that I won't just get generic cases or only carts, though.

Is Digiman Cyber Sleuth any good. I loved the cartoons coming up, but I don't know anything about game plays. Is the evolution process linear?

Flip shit only when they decide not to price match.

You can just return it to any gamestop store. And with free shipping there is no risk to you then. Thats sort of what I figured.

pro fucking tip: coat the serial number label with some clear nail varnish or the serial will rub off over time and it becomes a massive pain in the ass to get it repaired/sell it

I was interested in the Disgaea games until I noticed they are published by NISA, even here in Europe(not for long though :^) )
Are they full of NISA's typical cancer?

Truly a man of exquisite tastes.

No, they will stay the same because NIS owns NISA
The vita ports are fine from what I've heard, but like the rest of the series the localization is lol so radum horse wiener penguin of doom tier humor.

Buy em used or emulate the older versions of the ones that can be emulated

That's not what I was referring to, friend.
Kind of disappointing, I might have to just give them a miss then until I ever bother learning nip. Tell me, as a patron of the Disgaea series, is Disgaea PC in the same boat?

...

Bless the team that's doing this. Godspeed to those crazy motherfuckers.

my four year old nephew that doesn't know how to read loves it, i'm sure you will too

Have $4 in sonybux. Wat buy?

I've heard the jpn vita version of galgun runs like shit. Did they fix up the western version?

more sonybux

Unlike Mario Kart, it rewards skill.

It's dead online, but it's a pretty good kart racer.

Feels weird man

...

Decisions

This is weird…… Maybe XSEED passed on it or had too much on their plate? Also a physical for Vita was confirmed.

Flying Hamster

Honestly I'm more intrigued at this point by Xanadu Next than T. Xanadu. And I'm not impressed with how Aksys has been acting this past half year.

If I pick this up, it'll be the JPN version.

As some that already played both, Xanadu Naxt is the vastly superior game

Realized it was stepped in series history after looking up more details. Figure it'll be one of my first acquisitions when I transit fully to PC gaming.

I've been curious about Natural Doctrine. Is it good?

...

You disgrace her and yourself.

Nigga if you got the name you can find it free online

It's also on nhentai, but in ching chong.
nhentai.net/g/167524/
hentai.cafe/fujimaru-life-is-a-battlefield/

So when Aksys gets the rights to use the Japanese audio in Tokyo Xanadu are you gonna keep defending Xseeds shitty dubs?

These fuckers have a lot of news today, but almost all of it is for girls.

it sure is for girls. play a real roguelike you pansy, not pokemon shit.

I like to imagine a game like hollow realization, but you make your own character and the main cast of the series is just kinda there and you only see them sometimes or if you manage to become friends with them.
Imagine being able to waifu any of the main girls as well as random npcs. Imagine being able to cuck kirito by stealing asuna.

If you think Cold Steel dub is shitty you haven't played a lot of jrpgs.

There are people who played Tales of Symphonia with English audio. God have mercy on their souls.

Which is on PlayStation 4 in Japan iirc and we're not getting it.

What? Were getting both Xanadu Next and Tokyo Xanadu, we're just not getting the slightly improved version of Tokyo Xanadu on the PS4.

Tokyo Xanadu doesn't come remotely close to Xanadu Next no matter how many version upgrades it gets.

That came out like ten years ago. Nobody really releases god awful dubs anymore. Cold Steel has some of Japan's all time greats and we get what? Something just passable? Yay.

One of the characters is a loli demon, and you can romance her in the true end of her route.

Kids, I swear.

I keep trying to tell everyone how great 8-4's translations are. They must not remember the translations from 25 years ago with things like Zero Wing's "all your base belong to us". Thankyou every current publisher!

I'll take bizarre non-English over that

I know this is bait but it still made me mad

...

That countdown is over. Here's what you get.
d3p.co.jp/i-death/

What is this? It's just a jpg image of some animus with stars coming down

idol murder game?

The English dub for Symphonia sounded like a good improvement over the English dub for Tales of Eternia. Unfortunately that improvement didn't quite apply to the minor villains.

I have to wonder what's up with that. Hasn't XSEED had a deal with Falcom for publishing there games for a while now?

Yeah, as of now, Tales of Vesperia PS3 is the sole PS3 game with a fully complete fan translation.

Wait for a flash sale with stuff more prone to being in the $1-4 range?

Xseed has been weird with a lot of stuff lately. I don't know if Falcom would give them exclusive rights to their stuff. Unless Xseed really paid them for it. I wouldn't be surprised if Falcom isn't to happy about the way some of the things went with Carpe Fulger or whatever their name is ruining the series for the west. Maybe Falcom and Aksys started talking since Tokyo Xandu has been sitting untouched this whole time and they'd like their games done sooner rather than later?

Falcom games getting done by companies outside xseed is nothing new, Mastiff, konami, Namco, ect.

It's just weird since nobody else has gone after falcom titles for awhile, I'm pretty sure it's just Falcom wanting their titles to get to the west faster so they're spreading them out across multiple localization teams. God I hope they never pick NISA

I'm about to start Muramasa Rebirth for the first time.
What's this about "Legend" and "Chaos" mode? As far as I can tell, Legend is just "filthy casual mode", but I might be wrong.

You think they'll go full retard with this?

Yeah, I know they used to until XSEED started doing so, I'm just wondering what all that deal was applied to. I mean, was it just for certain franchises to begin with, like Ys and Legend of Heroes started during the PSP era?

Same. Wonder if some moonspeaking user could redpill them on how bad NISA is as a choice for localizing.

I suppose I might append that to "PSP era after a certain point," considering that not all of those games were handled by XSEED, at least early on.

Yeah, it's just different difficulties. Legend offers more difficulty than most of the same type of games do now though.

I have no idea what to expect. I don't know much about Trillion, but maybe something like that? I'd guess there will be a way to at least save whichever girl you like, unlike Danganronpa.

Went with Chaos, come what may.
I've also begun with Edgy Ninja Samurai Guy, and I will then move on to Kimono Chick. Do tell me if that's a mistake.
I wasn't prepared for how beautiful it looks. Especially on this screen. That hand-drawn aesthetic, man.

Yeah, Muramasa really looks nice. Great music as well.

One character isn't exactly harder than the other (both fight the same), and as far as their stories go, fight different bosses until you beat their respective routes (which gives free reign to fighting the bosses of the other character's route).

I think someone told me you're better off starting with the girl first due to the story. I only played for like 4 hours so I don't really know, but it did seem like it might be true.

There's some crossover between elements of their stories (such as Yukinojo having a role in both), but still for the most part standalone.

I honestly played a mixture of both during my first playthrough, switching off every few acts.

Quick, I'm into weebshit like Neptunia and Atelier Torori Plus is on sale, plus I got a fuck load of dosh to waste. Is it worth it?

Very impressed so far.
First boss is handing my ass to me though, I'm pretty sure blocking his attacks is the wrong way to go since he breaks it very quickly, but I can't get the crouch roll thing down. I've figured that getting behind him is key to winning, but once he reaches half health he starts doing other crazy shit that fucks with that plan.
I like to think that this is just because I'm not very familiar with the game yet, but maybe I just really do suck at video games?

source on anime please

8-4 is godlike compared to Working Design.

Honestly we live in good times for Japanese games. They're actually leaving Japan and many have JPN audio.

Xseed is just the only company who had the balls to pick up Trails in the sky.

Falcom tried to get some publishers interested in doing a Western release of that series but nobody saw a profit in it. But some of the Falcom series are a lot more accessible and much easier to translate so Xseed isn't the only fish in the pond anymore.

I remember Victor Ireland getting extremely butthurt that people were praising Xseed for their localization of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, Good times.

as long as other localization teams respect the games as much as xseed does, I'd welcome more falcom games coming over

I got hyped for all the otoge Aksys is going to bring, but then I remember it's Aksys and I feel like those games are being held hostage because fuck Aksys.

Does the Vita have anything to offer but gay JRPGs? Is piracy available yet?

Yep, IDGAF who publishes it as long as they respect the original work. Even NISA hasn't fucked up EVERY game they release.

why

archive.is/8jSeX
archive.is/oSrwn

Sure is respecting your Japanese vidya.

I wouldn't say we live in good times for localizations. Yes, more games than ever before are getting localized, but what's the point of bringing over a game if they're going to remove gameplay elements, completely rewrite characters, remove content like quests, or be too lazy to translate entire conversations? I have the same problem with modern shit as I do with WD's: I want to play the same game the Japanese got, not some random duche bag's half assed remake.

All games from now on must include at least five pock, six homos, and two trannies, comrade.

Jeeeesus.
I mean, you always know what goes on in these places. You always have an idea of how the Jews completely rig the presidential elections, or how disgusting the conditions are in your local restaurants.
But when you actually see it for yourself, to see him say this so casually on twitter, it's all that more sickening.

Does that faggot still work there?

...

i hope you're not implying that he's the only one doing it in the company and that once he's gone all will be resolved

just buy games used so they get jack shit

...

nice!!

Bateman's gone. Enger is still there. He's the one that sparked the twitter controversy in the pic.

imgur.com/a/AfEVo

why are people involved with PR always the biggest faggots

Social and communications degrees, maybe?

Also, thread's past bump limit now.

I wonder how many Vita games were even announced this last week. Is Vita the first system to have this kind of support while having almost no support from the company that made it? I don't think I've ever seen this happen before.

college in general fucks people up in the head pretty bad

that game got an enhanced version? No wonder you can find the jap original version for 600 yen

The PSP. Sony tossed it a few bones at the beginning of its life, but that was it for first party and western support. The rest was pure Japanese third party.

Yeah, I never thought it would get released in the west, but I guess Aksys is gonna give it a chance, because of the PS4 version. It's pretty telling that the publisher who puts out everything physical isn't even doing it this time though. I really don't think the first game did well.

Last semester that I was at mine they were pushing safe spaces and wasting time and money training the professors how to deal with students being triggered. For fuck's sake, isn't that what the waiver at the start of some classes is for, that some of the material covered may not be PC or safe for work, and that if you don't sign that you're fine with that, you can't take the class anyhow?

This game is about to get listed. Is it shit? I'm not really a fan of most indie games, but if it's as good as Spelunky or something and I pass on it I'll be kinda mad.

look at reviews

look at this pic

Well, IGN gave it a 6.5, so I guess I'll have to pass! I mainly wanted to post it so people who are fans won't miss it, since scalper fags like these games so much.

It was "free" awhile back with ps+. It's a decent metroid-like experience, go pirate the PC version to try it out

The only reason this is a good time for Westerners interested in video games is because of how easy it is to import and the fact that a fair number of systems are region free. Foreignizations of video games are still as insultingly bad as they always were, just for different reasons.

Yeah, one of the state colleges here had a "The Problem with Whiteness" class about how the ills other races face are all caused be white people. Taught by a self hating white guy of course.

What the fuck?

Yeah, I'd actually be less worried about Summon Night if 8-4 was working on it instead of Gaijin Works. He seems so unapologetic about all his immersion breaking shit that I don't think it's ever gonna change either.

I watched a couple videos and while it doesn't look too bad, I think I'm gonna pass. There's just way too many games I want coming out that I should really saved the money. I still need to buy that Mana game and SK:SV sometime soon too. It's a shame that it's a limited run, because it looks like the type of game I'd impulse buy during a sale.

idol killing pictures

...

made a thread

Play the demo.

Does it matter if the Vita dies?

Is PS4 bad or am I missing something?

Won't all the anime games just go to the PS4?
