They tried it early on when they were surrounded by Muslim coalitions and desperate for bodies to fight. Once the emergency was over they realized it was a bad idea mixing genders in combat and mostly let women serve as support. Sure they have a battalion or two that are mixed or mostly female, but almost all of the women serving are non-combat.
