Retro PC Thread

What are some good retro pc games? 1990-2005 is what im feeling

thief the dark project

I heard that the original Xcom is brutal, is it worth getting from the open source website?

It's just the new engine that's open source, you need to get the game content elsewhere I'd imagine.

I'm having fun with powerslave EX right now, you should definitely check that one out. The same guy also ported DOOM 64 to PC which is also fun as fuck.

And that isn't a problem.

I didn't mean to imply it was, just pointing out semantics I guess.

Go play Startopia.

Might and Magic 6 Mandate of Heaven

Master of Orion 1 and 2
Master of Magic
Disciples 2
Panzer General 1 and 2
Spellforce (the sequel is too late)
Dungeon Master
Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and 3
Alpha Centauri
Freespace 2
Homeworld 1 and 2
Frontier Elite II and First Encounters
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
KOTOR 1 and 2

And others listed by anons above.

Find Hunter Hunted by Sierra 1996.

Dungeon Master 2 too.
Soul Reaver 1 and 2
Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2
Diablo 1 and 2
Severance: Blade of Darkness
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Age of Wonders 1 and 2

Or just all PC classics that you can recall.

Diablo? Are there still servers up?

Quest For Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness has my favorite character select screen.

That's not retro, that's old. Stop using hipster remix of the word.

Advent Rising is a pretty fun third person shooter.

Might and magic 4 and 5
Ultima underworld
Wizardry 6, 7, and 8

Yup.

that's a retro console game, power slave PC was a different game.

Bump for System Shock 2. I just fired it up after being completely unimpressed by the remake demo. It's as brutal as I remembered. I just got murdered by a laser turret in engineering just before the cargo bays. It feels good.
