Link's Awakening was also my first game to beat, and it was fantastic as well.
The game's soundtrack is truly a Masterpiece.
Ballad of the Wind Fish, Sword Search, Tal Tal Heights, Dream World, House Theme - all masterpieces made with a very limited hardware.

First game I've ever beat was link related. I also beat Adventure Island 2 shortly after. It felt way too good.
