We all know this will happen sooner or later

We all know this will happen sooner or later.

Considering the shitshow that is Fallout 4 and the attitude Bethesda evidently has towards modding in general, is there any reason to get excited for this?

Would you rather have another Elder Scrolls or do you think this franchise should just die already?

It really should just die already, the series is so watered down that it's barely even an rpg anymore and the games are going to rely heavily on mods to be playable.

I want Bethesda to keep making them, even though they're really just producing assets for modders to use. It's not like the old games will ever go away, and the series doesn't cover a single continuous story, so Bethesda can't retroactively ruin the previous games.

Morrowind was the only good game in the entire series, and even then it's deeply flawed.
I wish Kirkbride had just written a book about Morrowind instead.

Just kill it, Todd.

there's Fallout 3 HD left to be made

I'll hype myself because, even if it ends badly - which doesn't have to be the case - Todd, his lies and marketing will make this a spectacle. Dissecting it on Holla Forums will be fascinating and as a lorefag, I'm sure we'll study it in depths on both /tes/ and Holla Forums

Yeah but if the game is fundamentally broken, there's only so much mods can do. Skyrim looks pretty fantastic with the right mods and there are some pretty fundamental overhauls, but it's still a shitty game even after all these years of modding.

Fallout 4 is on the same page if you ask me. I have no doubts modders will do some fantastic stuff with it in the next years, but there's no way they can fix the shitty Quests, terrible overworld or incoherent artstyle.

If Bethesda keeps going like this there wont be much of a modding community left in a few years.

I'm justing waiting on openMW. 20 years from now we'll have the entire continent of tamriel along with VR support.

Judging from the fact, that perks from fallout 3 translated into skyrim, most things in tes/fallout series now go from one to another.

Expect power armor-like armors in TES VI, and village making (instead of settlements). Separated armor peaces should make a return too.

As a location i can only expect either Elsweyr or Summerset Isles. My bet is on Summerset, cause i don't expect bethesda to make completely furry related game.

Don't forget that Fallout 4 New Orleans from Obsidian is coming, this is the reason why new TES wasn't announced this E3, they need to wait till obsidian game comes out.

I don't even think modding will even be useful in the next game since monetizing mods is still a thought in their head. I'm predicting they'll pull that trick in some form with the next game. Maybe even put mod support behind a paywall.

lolno

I expect it will be just like Fallout, one piece for the body, and one piece for the headwear. If there is "power armor-like armor" that you can customize like in FO4, that might have pieces but that's it.

FO4 with Magic. I just want the following things:

New setting
Another Salt Mine from consoles

That is all.

+5 additional pieces for bear pelt, plate or leather armor. That equip like leather or raider armors from f4.

Tbh fam it's gonna be hammerfell

They haven't done a desert/arid landscape and since it's the current year it'll let them pander to Muslims

It's going to be Hammerfell. I would bet real money on it.

We also forgetting now bethesda has to make voice over for all races, since f4 introduced player voice, that made quest mod making a real hell.

Or just don't include non-human ones at all. Imagine a khajiit speaking the same as human. There's a chance they will get rid of some races to make their work easier.

Bullshit. You'd better have a very good source, otherwise you're just pulling stuff out of your ass.

It wasn't announced because they're probably still making it. Hell, they probably didn't even start full production until a few months ago. It takes 2 or 3 years at least to make one of their games, and they don't have separate teams. You have no clue what you're talking about.

Also note that this time they're very probably going to switch engines or upgrade the one they have drastically. That's a full year more of development. TES VI will be announced for 2018 and will come out in 2019 if not 2020.

...

It was in daggerfall, no? Well. It looks deserted enough to make it look like fallout game though. Maybe you are right on track.

Imagine its going to teach kids how to be tolerant to muslims… Redguards would be probably the most kind guys in entire game.

I'm still hoping for a 2018 release, but you may be right.

No.

This is more likely, but they always modify their engine in between releases. I don't expect anything out of the ordinary on the technology front.

That's a total of 20 voices, since you have to put into account of the 10 races with male and female. Though the voice actors they have can take the role of many characters.

They destroyed the world of Morrowind in supplementary material, I think, and they can always attempt to cherrypick things that happened in previous games and retcon others to try and create a semi-coherent overarching story, Zelda style.

user. They will just remake the same shit, but with dwemer skin, trust me, this is how its going to be.

...

Lessen that amount. Its actually smaller. Slam all human races and elf races into one. You are forgetting that in f4 there's no difference in voice if you are a nigger or asian.

If Human + Elves + Argonians + Khajiits:
8 voices.

If Human/Elves + Argonians + Khajiits:
6 voices.

Well, the lewd mods might be good.
might.

I don't think they'll have a voiced protagonist. That way it's less work for them, and they can pretend that they're doing it because "we listened to fan feedback. :^)"

Yes, but Arena also covered all of Tamriel, and that hasn't stopped them from making games that focus on a single province. Todd knows that most of his audience never played Arena or Daggerfall, so I don't think they'd have any qualms about returning to Hammerfell.

I don't think it's going to be related to Muslims at all. Redguards are black, but their culture takes some its cues largely from pre-Islamic Arabs and other Mediterranean cultures. I'm sure it will be the usual Nine Divines stuff.

The shitty novels said that it had been more-or-less completely destroyed. When Skyrim came out, they walked that back a lot. Morrowind is still around.
Anyway, I was talking about retroactive ruination from a story sense, like Mass Effect. Bethesda just can't do that, at least not to anywhere near the same extent, since the series as a whole isn't telling a single cohesive story–and I don't think they're going to try to.

I am not against that. It will just piss off furfags, and they will start making shitty mods that replace character with a shitty khajiit model. And elves would probably get only ears in character creator.

It's already happening. FO4 is missing quite a few fundamental mods and tools, because people have left the Bethesda community or are ignoring FO4.

To be fair that was that one shitty author whose name i forgot who had a hardon for Argonians and managed to sneak his fanfiction into canon.

As soon as Bethesda realized that they fucked up by allowing him to write that shite they backpedalled pretty hard in Skyrim.

If that happens, then it really isn't going to be received well, since furries need their beast races, elf fags need their knife ears and the human races need to vary. It would actually hurt their sales with a meme coming about like "It's fallout 4 with swords"

That's going to show a lot when playing, especially considering that an Orc sounding like a High Elf is going to be very apparent.

I can't believe I pirated those books. They were literally Hell's Kitchen: Oblivion Edition.

Orcs are probably the race people care less about. Its going to be cut off and turned into super mutant-like monsters.

Nobody in their target market has played daggerfall

Why isn't posting bethesda games a bannable offense yet?

Because Holla Forums isn't your hugbox.

Go to undertale thread, ask them.

I always go Orc on my first playthrough in these game and role as close as I can to a shaman. Shame that this might be the case.

Because it's a video game

I had a good chuckle when Skyrim Remaster was announced and Schlangster immediately said he's not going to make a working SkyUI for that and he wont allow others to use his code for it.

That immediately pulls out the rug from every sophisticated mod that relies on SkyUI and MCM.

So… there is no redeeming quality for Fallout 4? I was thinking about buying it when it had a super game of the year edition for 20€ or less to use the Any mod any weapon mod and many settlement mods.

Crap, isn't even any sex mod on it yet?

if it didnt weight 5 gorillion gb it would be worth to pirate for one gameplay since the world is actually well made (not in terms of gameplay, it just looks much better than other bethesda games) and it has new content which is after all what games are for. But god dont pay for it

Nope. Nor is there a good loli mod.

Ashal from Loverslab is working on a Sexlab-version for Fallout 4 but until that's done there's not much beside some mild shit like that one mod where you can assign a settler to a bed and then dryhump her doggystyle.

And even when that is done it's just a framework. Sexlab had a dozen animators and scripters working for five years.

...

I think it's worse than Skyrim and Fallout 3 in almost every way. It looks prettier and the non-VATS gunplay is better. That's it. The dialogue system is insultingly stupid, the perk chart is a mess and not a good replacement for skills–and SPECIAL is effectively gone.
The world feels slightly denser, but I never thought Bethesda's worlds were "too empty" to begin with, so that didn't really do anything for me.
Admittedly, I only played about 5 hours before I gave up on it, but I think it was long enough to get a feel for the game.

...

When i saw FO4 on Steam for 50% off i was tempet for a second but then i realized i'd still have to shell out 50 bucks more for the DLCs because most mods will rely on the assets.

It's really only worth a buy in 2-3 years when it's cheap and modders had some time to fix it. Until then pirate it, play it once and then deinstall it.

I see… and I guess there aren't even a decent mountain zone to make a settlement. You can't get your wife as a companion, you can't be a supermutant, all the companions look retarded and sound retarded… am I missing anything?

This game sure feels like constant disappointment.

This is extra disappointing because I actually saw the crafting and got excited.

I don't want to even bother piracing it. I'll wait until all DLCs are delivered and the game is cheap, or even then I would just play newvegas.

They'l include all the races but make the protag voice into extremely bland generic gruff marine kind of shit so it'l "fit" no matter what race you are playing.

For females they'l just go with the bland chick voices that we havent got a shortage in games anyway.

The idea isn't bad on paper. Giving all the clutter a crafting purpose should have been a good thing. But in practice, it just means that you have to weigh the value of every single little piece of trash you come across, and that gets mentally exhausting after a while. The ability to tag items that will produce desired resources helps somewhat, but not enough to alleviate the tedium.
Also, I found settlement building pointless and boring. Building a house for myself would have been nice. Even building a town could have been enjoyable. But expecting me to build one with a shitty interface, and then manage the fuck out of it, is soul-crushing. It feels like a job.

OpenMW has been fully playable to complete for a couple years now IIRC, it's that most of the missing feature left are scattered here and there, unlike DaggerXL.

So, it is like if they saw the Real Time Settler mod and thought "hmm… how can I make it less fun?" ?

The only silver lining is that they might take fallout 4's crafting and settlement building and run with it
Because even when bethesda inevitably fucks up the execution, those are still sandboxy systems that make a perfect base for modding

Fucking Morrowind had better decorating mods than FO4's settlement building.

I don't know, I never used that mod.

Kirkbride was only one of the writers for Morrowind, and he relied entirely upon the basis of what Arena and Daggerfall had created in order to put his insanity into practice.

Arena was basically a D&D campaign, and was the template, naming places and races. Daggerfall gave a meaning to those places, along with gods, and a fundamental basis for how the lore and magic of the world would function.Kirkbride and the others who worked on the PGE1stED onwards into Morrowind were the ones who put the strange things we're so used to into practice, taking an otherwise standard fantasy setting and turning it into something wonderful.

Then you get into the world itself. Kirkbride was big into the lore, and did some writing and concept art and so on, but he was not the one going down and writing most of the individual lines of dialogue. If he wrote a book about Morrowind, the entire thing would have wound up like the Lessons of Vivec or C0DA - a complete clusterfuck which requires external information to understand. Kirkbride has outright said this much himself - the best part about TES lore is how much it contradicts itself, which creates the illusion, much like in the real world, that there is not a singular truth to the world.

It's probably why TES lore manages to hold up so well when compared to even big-name fantasy series. Kirkbride, Rolfston, and the others on their own can't hold up against someone like Tolkein. Put the composite together, though, and you have something which can at least be compared - which, considering the medium, is pretty damn impressive. Of course, Kirkbride bringing in about six thousand years of accumulated human mythology as a basis also helps.

Todd likes to jerk himself too much with the whole "live another life in another world" bullshit to do that. I doubt a voiced protagonist outside of a TES: Adventures spin-off.

Morrowind had better settlement building than Fallout 4 by a pretty long stretch as well. Each Faction had its own unique one, and then there's the entire Raven Rock quest-line, which can be considered that as well. It's not just glorified Minecraft.

...

I see absolutely no more hope for bethesda games at this point. It will come out broken and glitches all over the place so the modders can fix them. Only thing that could possibly save fallout is obsidian really. Just hope is dies now that way it wont go down in history as a shitshow

Well… I actually like the Skyrim map, but just because I love snowed places and mountains.

This. I don't know why that faggot thought they would remove playable races.

Quality post.

>The main quest is to find and kill Vivec
>Vivec uses CHIM to send you into the 9th era

No.

Yes.

user no

From what I do know, Kirkbride had jumped onto Bethesda and had essentially soft rebooted (for the better, mind you) the TES games with Battlespire and Redguard, which had laid the groundwork for the lore in future TES games.

have you listened to Kirkbride's podcast yet?

It just doesnt work like that

I doubt they'd go back in time. The main series hasn't done that yet, and Bethesda are ultraconservative.

That really depends on how you define "building"
Morrowind just has a few questlines that you have no real choice in, or really any part in aside from doing minor errands for the people actually doing the work

...

Is there any good mod for skyrim that is not porn?

Yes.

...

Idk how far im looking at this but is there any mod for fallout 4 with better dialogue options?

I'm pretty sure there's one that replaces the dialog options with what your character actually says, which is technically an improvement

Seriously though why would they do that?
At worst they'l use the same models and textures from Skyrim for fur/scalyshits.

Story will be bland as fuck shit anyway where it doesnt matter what race or gender you are nor is it ever gonna be even mentioned other than maybe in the start where you escape prison or such shit yet again.

thx fam

Check daggerfall unity.

This or some other non-excuse like "Not all X talk that way, you know."

Play Arena and Daggerfall. You would be shocked the amount of things that have been carried along from the very beginning.

Races, places, and faces already had names to them. Kirkbride got himself stoned on enough drugs to kill a small elephant and synthesized mythology to try to expand upon that, which resulted in the Pocket Guide to the Empire.

And again, Kirkbride, by his own admission, did not do it alone. He had a huge amount of help from the other lore-writers in those games. I wouldn't be surprised if even Todd Howard had some input back in his intern days, with some minor shit like, "Hey wouldn't it be cool if dragons could fly?" or some other stupid shit.

One man does not a world build.

You had more choices than you would think. Most of those choices boil down "do I kill this NPC or not?" but those are the choices. The Mages Guild questline and its alternate ending, for instance. I'll give that it's fairly barebones.

The settlement building process is a lot better, though, as it conveys a sense of ownership. Something that's a bit difficult to emulate in a game.

SkyKids

I think the guy who came up with the King of Dragon Pass setting did. He was/is an anthropologist so it's kinda his thing to come up with cultures.

Yeah its whay i have but the options are childish at best

King of Dragon Pass also didn't skyrocket its producers into being one of the largest players in the industry, and produce a big enough clusterfuck that someone, somewhere on the internet is arguing about it literally every god damn second of every god damn day.

My statement was wrong, though. Most fantasy authors do world-build mostly on their own. But most are fairly shit. TES competes with the good ones on virtue of composite, and having the most conflicting lore of all.

Try to follow the discussion. We're shitposting about the theoretical implication that they would want to voice the character and thus cut down character choices because voicing 2 genders of 10 races is a bit costly.

It had potential but it was too underpowered and too buggy. They should have just embraced their limitations instead of making a big ass map with only a handful of interesting cities.

I liked the abstraction and how much it felt like a table-top RPG but the rest was garbage. There were FAR better dungeon crawlers at the time.

Fuck that shit. Studios embracing their limitations is the reason that video games are shit nowadays. Boundary pushing is the only way to improve.

My guess is that they'll do 2 different voices per gender and only have the PC say generic shit like in Skyrim.

Voice #1 would be for the humans, elves and orcs.

Voice #2 would be for the argonians and khajiits

Exceeding limitations is only a good thing when you know what you are doing .

DaggerFall ultimately suffered for trying too hard and I didn't see any games around the same time trying to follow in its footsteps.

I really don't care about Daggerfall one way or the other.

But Argonians and Khajiits sound very different from each other. I doubt they'll do a voiced protagonist.

Just change the pitch a bit for every race or run it through some filters for more "edge".

Hell no need to hire 2 voice actors at all just hire one and lower the pitch for males and raise it for females!

Why? They did it in FO4.

Something tells me that the player character will be able to choose a race, but will still have one voice for a male and a female.

That was only male and female human. Khajiits alone have an entirely different speech patterns.

If "good" is subjective, there is a loli mod for f4.

I've stated my reasons before, but again: 1) It's a lot more work to account for the different races' voices, so they'll probably try to avoid the extra time and cost, and 2) it will let them say, "We're doing this because of fan feedback," even though that probably won't be true.

What percentage of twenty year old games are still being played today, user? In terms of numbers, yes, there's quite a few. In terms of percentages, it's an insignificant portion.

People still play Daggerfall today, and it did well for the time. That tells you everything you need to know about whether or not it worked out.

Bethesda doesn't like Fallout. They only like the money they can make scamming the fanbase they cultivated with FO3. Todd and the others actually like TES because they worked on it themselves. While they could do it, and it wouldn't surprise me immensely, I consider it unlikely.

Dunmer speech patterns are very different. You have to insert the world "n'wah" in as often as possible. Hell, Dunmer gameplay is completely wrong. I think I read something from Kirkbride stating how each race should have different gameplay mechanics, and one of them would be that Dunmer players only say "N'Wah" for the name of every non-Dunmer NPC.

So… if they make another Elder Scrolls would they add settlement making and weapon crafting in there? not sure if they will do it right.

i'm sure they'll take that into account. if there's anything Bethesda care about, it's consistency.

Weapon crafting was already in Skyrim, so they'll probably keep that. I suspect they'll keep settlement building, but I really hope they don't.

I find that really hard to believe after playing Skyrim.

I could see that.

Didnt have problem with turning a whole region of jungle into generic medieval forest so changing the way races speak is no biggie.

Okay, lets get some serious facts.

Remember this in 2014?
Remember how this referred to Nuka World expansion?

Boston Project means the fallout 4 location.

Project Greenheart on the other hand is related to Elder Scrolls VI. Now, what the fuck Greenheart means and how its related to the lore?

Then again they aren't against wasting money on pointless bullshit.

My point wasn't about Daggerfall Unity though, it was meant to contrast with OpenMW's near completeness with DaggerXL having some major features that needed to be implemented to make an actual, playable game.

Okay, found it:
elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Greenheart

Greenheart is a city in valenwood.

TES VI is going to be there, if you want it or not. If you don't believe me, screencap my post.

Commercial success doesn't mean shit when looking at it objectively.

Yes, there are tons of bugs, and yes it is lacking compared to the other RPGs of its time. This is a fact.

I don't remember ever seeing this document before. But it wouldn't surprise me too much. Bethesda plans their stuff out well in advance. Oblivion was heavily alluded to in Morrowind, for example.
If they really do Valenwood, I'll be happy. I'd like to see another mer province. I know Bosmer aren't really mer, but whatever.

Who thought it was a good idea?

And I guess they don't have any actual useful names besides Mohamed or some shit like that.

It was there just for Todd to show-off.

Turns out that memo is a fake.
archive.is/ohEiR

Shit.

Will other npc's in game even mention your name if you pick one of those pre-defined ones?

There is no way modern Bethesda aren't going to fuck up Valenwood.

Except commercial success does mean shit. Daggerfall decided to be experimental. It was rewarded with a loyal playerbase and success in the future for pushing the limits.

Other games from that same time period, like Baldurs Gate? Yes, they were successful. Maybe better. But there are probably more people still playing AD&D than playing Baldurs Gate. And the studio itself, while still making games, doesn't hold a candle to Bethesda in financial success.

Games that push the boundaries either crash and burn, or are rewarded. Studios nowadays are too scared to keep pushing, though, since they've found a way to "play it safe". That's why games are shit. They're not going anywhere.

Still, I'm giving it 5:1 odds the next TES is Hammerfell.

That was hilarious bullshit for many reasons. "NPCs will actually say your name" was paraded around as a shitty marketing gimmick with videos of that robot and once the game was released it turned out the Robot is actually the ONLY one doing it.

How is that not already false marketing?

Its a damage control by bethesda.

NOBODY KNEW ABOUT NUKA WORLD IN 2014 UP TILL THIS E3.

No just Codsworth.

Because people don't make class action lawsuits against game companies.

One would think that with Kikestarter they would start experimenting again.

I dont see why even big devs/pubs cant use it like say Bethesda under the guise of "oy vey we wanted to make this game but uh… yeah money and no time to do it without that and uhh.. Todd's dream game" and other marketing slurs and normalfags will lap and fund it up.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but there was already absolutely nothing about Woodelves in Skyrim that even aluded to them being carnivores, let alone cannibalism, despite the fact that the vanilla game had a cannibalism mechanic and animations with the Namira-Questline.

You know, the contraption DLC looks somewhat interesting.

Can you make a minigold course and throw balls?

Which was also ported into Fallout 4 by a perk.

Holy shit its like you don't even know what were talking about.

Skyrim sold well too, user, remember that.

Its shit, because it can't produce anything useful. Also conveyor belts are completely useless.

So… no minigolf courses? nor even automated butcheries to turn raiders into delicious meat?

I highly doubt that's a secret Bethesda damage control piece.
Everyone knew Fallout 4 was going to be in Boston, based on Fallout 3.
"Nuka World" I'll grant you, but it's not like the concept is incredibly original; it was made to sound plausible, and it turns out it was, because Bethesda doesn't like or respect Fallout's setting, so they went for the obvious shit.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be Hammerfell.

Bosmer are carnivores and cannibals, it's well-referenced in the lore. They're not even really mer, just primal nature spirits that were given the form of mer by Yffre. That form's instability is what leads to things like the Wild Hunt.

There's a mod for that.
nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15429/?

I know, i'm just saying that part of the lore is already pretty much sweeped under the rug or at best simply ignored in Skyrim even though there are a couple of Woodelf NPCs and you can play as a Woodelf.

And how long until they remake fo1 to fester on the nostalgia bux and ruin everyone's memories?

Oh, I see. That's true. I think a lot of the differences in races were largely ignored or discounted in Skyrim, both for the player and for NPCs. I'd like to see that change in TES6, but who knows.

Never. They don't want people comparing it to their own games. Same reason they rarely acknowledge New Vegas.

They will never do it just like they will never do morrowind remake. For the same reason.

Would be too hard for their audience to comprehend dialogue system and choices that matter.

Btw someone tried to make f1 remake on f3 engine.

Why

I was thinking they'd simplify it and cut content like the glow, most dialogues, etc

last time I checked it was really bareboned

I'd love to see FO1 in 3D and FPS, just with an entirely different engine and slightly different combat system.

You know, its time to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Fallout games never meant to be fps.

Interesting… can you strip dead bodies of any useful loot and then send the naked body to the butchery?

...

Yes, of course.

Kill it if you want to preserve any kind of RPG elements in your nexxt RPG, since they will dial it down even further in this one, leading normalfags to belive that RPGs are supposed to be like shitty FPS set in an "open wolrd" with no consequenze what-so-ever.

Im going to enjoy watching how much they fuck up. I also hope there will be another salt party.

Well, I meant in an automated way, to split equipment and body before sending everything to their respective proccess plants.

Funny shit about that is that many greatest rpg games ever made were first person games.

My prediction:

What if the r/Fallout's moronic faith in Jesse's leaks made meme magic materialize it as real?

I never tried that shitty mod, sorry.

They also had consequences and design that wasn't braindead.
The Elder Scrolls is, at heart, an Ultima Underworld ripoff that's been gradually casualized with each subsequent release.

...

There are many ways to make it less "furry" or make the fanbase tolerate this.

kek

Its not khajiits that make elsweyr bad location. They had great lore since morrowind.

Its the furfags. I used to play as khajiits before furfaggotry became a common thing. Now if i'l play as khajiit, people would say that i am degenerate cat fucker.

I'd rather use my money to wage war on drugs, thank you very much.

It was alright.

Yes but nothing stops you from pirating this and installing some weeb model mods

...

Settlement building was fucking dogshit. The interface was fucked, items didn't snap together neatly, they didn't give you a top-down view for better planning your layout, the entire crafting system was tedious because it relied on junk, and it felt like a second job to manage it all.
Maybe for your average 14-year-old autist who grew up playing Minecraft it was acceptable. I hated it. Tying an entire faction to it was beyond retarded.

Usually when people dislike video games they don't even pirate them.

Imagine all the resources i need to collect to build that.

I fucking bet all those things are made with TGM on.

It is the Skyrim to Fallout 3's Oblivion. I wanted to like FO4 because settlement building seemed fun, but it's just worse in every way except graphics.

Those games are old and ugly as shit, grandpa.

true
true
true
eh that was boring but never bothered me.

I hope you are sarcastic. It would really annoy me if people who say such things exist in real life.

Got it. It's just some genres are pretty addictive and very few make games in them because of complexity. For instance I need a fix of first person open world exploration and there aren't that many open world games like what Bethesda makes, so I have to put up with the shallowness if I want my fix.

also the crafting system didn't RELY on junk you could just buy shipments with enough caps

Someone said on this board once that minecraft was better than fallout 4's settlement building.

I don't know what to think of it.

This is the reason why i always reinstall fallout 4 and delete it after playing 15 minutes of that garbage.

:^)

Piratelords wanted to fix this in his next update of Piratelords scavenging tweaks, but then he died.

delete this

What I want more than anything is a decent combat system. It doesn't even need to be deep, something like 3D Zeldas have is enough.

Was the leak regarding Valenwood fake?

It pretty much is. The vanilla settlement system in FO4 is pretty fucking atrocious.

That's pretty based. However, Bethesda said that mods from the vanilla game work with the Reshitster.

The biggest problem with the settlement building is that it killed immersion. It made the world seem completely dead. In 3, people gave you quests because they were too busy surviving to deal with one specific thing, and would ask you to do something as a favor for them. In number 4, every single person in a settlement doesn't do fucking shit. They sit on their asses and wait for you to do everything. There's a city's worth of supplies in the workbench, and not one of them could be assed to build a bed themselves for some reason. The one thing I wanted to do in FO4 was to just go to settlements, give them fuck tons of supplies, and when I came back from the next supply run, see how they had improved the town. They didn't make settlements, they made apocalyptic minecraft.

Gonna explain more? I never seriously played minecraft before, is it really that good?

did he actually die or is he just been offline for a long time?
how'd he go?

What's the picture? I only see something about needing a Holla Forums gold account.

Went offline it seems. I hope he will continue development of that.

I'm glad you could get some enjoyment out of it. Maybe I'm just not wired for it.

I really wish there were some competition in the style of game that Bethesda makes.

It made the world seem completely dead.
Agreed. I think (for a lot of reasons) Fallout 4 feels completely lifeless. Also, I'm amazed that they no longer let you turn down certain radiant quests–you just get it, no questions asked, as soon as you talk to a character. I hate radiant quests.

better than fallout 4 isn't saying much

The biggest crime in Fallout 4 was that the 50s greasers in hot rod power armor weren't a fully fleshed out faction.

I wish both raiders and gunners were a playable faction, with their own ending.

Never ever though.

console plebes pls

Bethesda also said that EVERY PC-Mod will work on consoles and how did that turn out?

The SKSE-guys already said that the Script Extender will not work without a patch. SKSE, SkyUI and the MCM are the three pillars that are essential for pretty much every mod that isn't a retex, bodymod, Armor/weapon.

Without SkyUI, MCM wont work. Someone will have to code an alternative. Then someone needs to make a MCM that works with that alternative that also works with all the other Mods that depend on both.

It will be simplier than you think.

Remember there's a donation button on skyui page?

Well, some autist will donate a million with a comment to make it work for skyrim remake and port it to consoles.

And it will be made for skyrim remake. Plain and simple, maybe eve bethesda itself will do it undercover.

I am unfamiliar with SKSE's internals but what makes it incompatible with the updated version?

A single change in exe file would make it incompatible with the updated version.

It's not so much that Minecraft is good, it's more that half of the game revolves around being able to build wherever and whatever you want.

Also, like

says, it doesn't take much to be better than Fallout 4's vanilla settlement system.
If you wanted to design your house to look like a watermelon in Minecraft, you definitely could given enough time.
Whereas FO4's building system is a shallow, broken system that only allows you to build certain predesigned walls in certain predesignated locations.

People have made fucking working computers from the game's built in circuitry system in Minecraft.
I can't even place a door anywhere that doesn't have a doorway in Fallout 4.

Fuck. Still no proper mod to build stuff wherever you want.

What fan fiction?

He's talking about the two Elder Scrolls novels: Infernal City and Lord of Souls. They're not very good, don't bother.

Talking about minecraft. This is what our beloved hard working modding community is wasting their time and strengths on.

Is this what they do instead of making robot porn mods?

It's not just the shitty build mode itself. You could make some cool things in FO4. But,… Why bother? You'd still be playing FO4.

Sure, people make cool stuff in Minecraft, the Sims games, or Garry's Mod, and those games have fun tool sets that are enjoyable to use. But, they are also good games/toys overall. With active and engaging communities, and countless reasons to play them for people who don't build.

People build things in those games to enhance their gameplay. The same reason most people make mods. Now, what is there to enhance in FO4? Why bother trying to polish a turd?

Bethesda aren't fucking idiots. TES's races are one of the major selling points of the games; that's why they made it a marketing buzz that they had introduced two more when Morrowind came out.

Ah yes, you reminded me that this thing had better building mechanics than f4 ever had, and additionally had mods that can turn sims into fallout.

Yes, a video game where you have to wade through bullshit cheesy monsters in an environment where you can barely jump over minor inclines to reach cover or attack in order to find the rare item you need, which you will lose forever if you fail to jump over the lava with these crippled fucking controls, all so you can build one god damn floor board at a time…

is fun.

A fallout themed sims…

Thats funny and all but what does it DO?

If I wanted to play Minecraft, I'd play Minecraft. I'm sure there are corpse mods for it.

...

It's quite fun to play it like that, only downside is though that you pretty much have to make your own post-apocalyptic world from the scratch for your sims as there's not any good ones available due to everyone and their mothers suffering from the "hey let's just throw EVERYTHING in the world and shitloads of pointless roads because hey? everyone digs roads going nowhere!"

Which sims is the best for that kind of thing?

Are there even any good Argonian gay sex mods for V yet?

3 as there's Create a STYLE as in you can change your kitchen sinks look grimy'n dirty'n rustic and that shit and if you are up to it even make your own tiny slice of "wasteland" with the world editor.

Despite my bashing the custom "post-apoc" worlds there's some that might be nice enough to play like:
forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/563581.page Havent checked it out myself yet but from the shots it doesnt seem to suffer badly from your typical must have everything syndrome.

Interesting, thanks.

And dont obviously forget to get the Game4stheworld version of 3 and even check
8ch.net/v/res/9855422.html out for more info how to make the game actually run well and without ruining your card.

I'm only 35 years old - i cant be a grandpa

What's wrong with you?

Talking about Fallout, creator of DUST for New Vegas (survival mod that makes entire wasteland dangerous and non-friendly as shit) is working on similar mod for Fallout 4.
forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3223789-suggestions-for-fo4-dust/page-1

I guess it will suit f4 better, cause better gunplay and dialogues are less essential.

Nice to see you also dropped out of high school after you knocked yours up, dipshit.

Nah, I was dumb in high school and didn't get a chance.

lmao are implying anybody on this fuckin' gay ass website has had sex

I'm still surprised noone made a new worldspace to make settlements. Mostly because Boston looks ugly as fuck.

That's why rohypnol was invented you dumb shit.

its a good thing no one listens to you retarded manchildren

I prefer hobby Proffesional water sport and Aikido over sex. And all girls ignore me because i was rude and strange.

Now half of them are single mother and tell me i was always cute. Bullshit.

You must be well-hydrated.

for what purpose

Keep you /d/ fantasies outa here.

You piqued my interest, havent played NV since when it was released but i should def give it a replay.

Before checking it's page how did it work in NV?
I'm worrying yet another shit where the modder just replaced some normal spawns with elite/deadly/whatever the more stronger variants were and called it a day.

...

Dust is like completely different game, watch some youtube videos. You will feel alone as fuck in it, cause not a single friendly npc was left in the game, everything is out there to kill you. Its like roguelike game.

Don't install too much non-recommended mods with it though, it will break it. Project Nevada for example must be installed without its rebalance part, if you are going to use it with Dust.

It should have died five games ago.

Neat, i'l give it a try once i've replayed NV "normally" once.

Is there any… mission or anything into it that way as all npc's gone or just free roam in brutal wasteland?

So you're saying Daedric armour will finally be useful, along with Bound armor?

There's a mission to escape from mojave, which can be optionally completed or not. And no, you can't escape just by going to the corners of the map, you have to find a different way out, won't spoil it to you.

W-what? Obsidian is making a new fallout?

Because moving a game from an old but reliable and by now improved engine to a shitty, slow, broken one is obviously improvement for bethtards.

Yeah well. He made a new storyline and all that but essentially at the core all he did besides fluffnotes was replace all geckos with tunnelers, all neutral settlers with raidertypes and all wild brahmins with Deathclaws.

...

jesawyer1975 (the faggot from obsidian, who was lead designer of both cancelled van burner and new vegas) twitter is full of old fashioned american stuff. Either he went full hip over retro shit, or he is making new fallout game and seeks inspiration.

But he is anthony burch tier of homosexual cuck though. So you are going to get "New Vegas Faggot SJW Edition".

I see most of you guys complaining that it will be like FO4 Not only has Todd come out and said that the dialogue system was a mistake in FO4 (And everything with it, such as the preformed character) he has also said that these are two separate series and their stories will never influence each other

So it's safe to say the next TES will come out at least as Skyrim's standards
[spoiler]Which a lot of you fuckers hate as well even though it was a good game unlike FO4{/spoiler]

embarassing

Honest question here, how many times did you touch the stove before learning your lesson?

INCOMING

You know, i once read unbiased review on morrowind, dated the year 2002, and it said morrowind sucks compared to daggerfall.

Since Morrowind bethesda games got only worse.

...

Sure you can.

...

WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

I don't know what disgust me more the hair, the inbreeding or the tacky shirt tucked in the low quality jeans.

...

A year before FO4 was released we ironically shitposted that we will consider Skyrim a relatively good Game after Fallout lowered the bar again.

I wished i had screencapped some of these posts.

...

...

That's fucking disgusting.

Can we all just accept that the only worthwhile experience you can get from these games are the porn mods?

Seriously these games are fodder for autists and the porn addicts are no exception.

...

No, there's no indication of that. He's talking out of his ass, and nearly every part of his post is wrong.

Better than Daggerfall? No such thing.

Source or you're full of shit.

>>>/reddit/

On the slight, ever so minimal, impossible chance, that it might be good or atleast have enough of a template and modding community to become good, I would rather have them make one and see what turns up. But only because the alternative is nothing, which might as well be the same as shit.

Welp, as only i said that he's dead, he releases 1.1 version.
nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15206/

There were the might and magic games. I think ulitima underworld was around that time too.

PART of hammerfell was in daggerfall. You didn't get Stros M'Kai or anything else interesting.

They're not even fodder for autists anymore. They're way too simple at this point.

That's what I like about my country: teen pregnancy is not socially acceptable here. Regardless what parents or the Church wants kids will be put on birth control or when that fails the fetus will be vacuumed up.

...

No you fucking cunt. God, go kill yourself.

Stros M'Kai and the Adamantine Tower are TOWERS, CHRIST. DON'T YOU KNOW THE TOWERS ARE FUCKING IMPORTANT?

Stros M'Kai will probably be the centerpiece of the game and where the final boss happens.

(checked)
I need more animated stuff from that artist.

Depends on what you're looking for. I don't really know what you mean by simple though. I hear the fetishes for Skyrim are pretty vanilla but even they have some more extravagant ones. Oblivion had a pretty hard Jap modding scene for a while so there's definitely some weird shit on there.

Even though I know it'll be shit, I'm still gonna buy it. Todd's lies hold me by a leash.

Kill me.

Enjoy your defective children :^)

wow rude

Stros M'Kai isn't.

Yes. Why do you assume that Bethesda knows that? They leave important shit out of their games all the time.

Christ user.

Even people liking those shit games pirating them to teach bethesda how shit their games without mods are.

20-25 is the best age of marriage, who won't agree.

As someone who actually knows basic statistics, I'd need more than this to be convinced. Sample size, population sampled, and coefficient of determination just to start.

...

Oh no, a 1% chance you'll have to abort a potato. Who cares?

The only worthwhile mods that you would even get that didn't need the extender are the HD texture mods and even then the file sizes for those are so huge that you couldn't pass the storage cap.

where the fuck do you think you are?

Stop fucking around and make a game that takes place in Elsweyr, guys.

I think it has the potential to be good.

Warning - the following opinion may be incredibly triggering to autistics: Fallout 4 was a good game despite not being a good Fallout game. After they patched survival, it is an enjoyable alternative to STALKER in terms of being a relatively realistic/tense shooter, has good survival mechanics, and the settlement building and crafting system can actually be pretty fun. Yes I am well aware that the writing is beyond dogshit, but on pure gameplay it is a good game. Not a good RPG, but a good survival sandbox shooter.

If they end up with a competent writer or even a good one like Kirkbride for TESVI it has the potential to be one of the best. They just really need to drop the voiced protag from Shillout 4 and actually finish their game's content before releasing it unlike Skyrim (see: College of Winterhold, Thieves Guild, Civil War, and even the Companions questlines).

That shit doesn't sell as well as generic European fantasy fam, It's going to be between Redguard, High Rock, Vvardenfell, and Summerset Isle

Yeah and Cyrodill was supposed to be a jungle

Even SMT is better than Daggerfall.

It's amazing how we have several people in this thread giving complex reasons as to how the crafting/building system in Failout 4 was dog shit and it's like all of their time and effort writing those posts flew out the window because some Redditor can't be assed to read the thread.

The gameplay in FO4 is ass, the weapon models are too big even in wide FOV, the gunplay is embarrassingly bad despite their best efforts because of the shitty engine and effects. It feels, bad, to shoot a gun in that game. An FPS predominate game in which the gunplay sucks ass, shitty repetitive quest system, fucking horrid animations & textures, constant retconning, and mass effect shit.

I seriously fail to see how people think it's a good game. Also,

...

I assume you mean Valenwood. That's the one I want to see the most, even though Bosmer are filthy mer impersonators.

Thanks for the source.

If they are being truthful and will take our advice on this that gives me a bit of ho–

… Fuck…

I think those posts had some good points but were ultimately pretty nitpicky, and I disagree with how they feel about junk, at least on survival difficulty. You really can't afford the space to carry much around other than guns, explosives ammo, armor, food/drink, which leaves very little space for only the most valuable shit like that which might contain crystal or ballistic fiber. Everything else is mostly obtained through traders at your settlement, scrapping what you find at settlement locations, or by assigning workers to scavenge stuff. And yes many of the guns could have used the amount of effort put into the pipe and laser guns, but it's better than any other weapon crafting system I've used in terms of how many different uses you can get out of one weapon.

As for the gunplay, I completely disagree. I wouldn't say they did the best job on weapon models, animations, or sound effects compared to something like FEAR or Black, but it's a huge step up from New Vegas and though the guns themselves aren't done quite as well as STALKER's the enemies react to them much better which I think is actually more important. The game does lack bullet physics though without mods since everything is hitscan and there's no bullet drop but there's a mod for that :^). I agree that the weapon models are too big but I don't really mind that as much, but I can see why you would.

Quests are garbage, animations are mediocre outside of ghouls, textures are garbage, models and object density are actually good, lighting is generally decent, and the retconning and writing are 100% garbage.

Fallout is good for the writing and ability to roleplay. Fallout 4 is not good for the shit writing and lack of ability to roleplay. However, it is good for pure gameplay reasons which is why I see it as a good game.

It's like if Mount and Blade was titled "Quake 4", it's not really a good FPS and is very slow but it's good for entirely different reasons so you would say that it's not a good Quake game but it's still a good game.

...

To the people are now wondering, apparantly IGN reported that Todd said they understand fans were dissapointed with the dialogue options, and that they are taking the fans feedback seriously about this.

It really isn't.

...

...

You’re too stupid to be allowed to post here.

Found the downy!

Is it worth it at this point to pirate FO4 to give it a go?

no

I just finished Underrail, it was a better Fallout than anything Bethesda ever manager to put together.

is the building good? I'd really only play it solely just to download a infinite resource mod and build an alcatraz sex dungeon.

You'll tear your hair out just trying to align walls.

The SkyUI dev was one of the first to try to get on the Paid mods ride, it wouldn't surprise me if he accepted a large 'donation' from Bethesda to make it work for their new scam.

I'm impressed, user.
You're lying more than Todd Howard.

I just bought ESO

Unlikely.

>>>/out/

>>>/anywherebuthere/

wow what an amazing example, thank you for your detailed and insightful analysis into the gameplay flaws of Fallout 4

I don't know if you played on post patch survival, but for the most part the gameplay is 1:1 to STALKER on high difficulties with worse bullet physics and better enemy reaction to damage. Both you and enemies die very quickly, headshots are pretty much always OHKOs, and guns are reliably accurate in single shots or short bursts but not so for extended fire. The human enemies are also somewhat smart for a FPS and do a good job taking cover, using explosives, staying mobile, and they get more aggressive if they think they have an advantage. Their main flaw is that when you're going silent and deadly they don't really give a shit when their friends head explodes if you wait around 15 seconds and are very lazy with searching.

I doubt youve played a stalker game

It's one of my favorite games, and I doubt you've played Shekelout 4 on post patch survival. Please tell me which statement I made about Fallout 4's gameplay is inaccurate.

the building is really fucking bad and tedious, just stay away from it

If you are an autistic person like me that enjoys the idea of the weapon customization, settlement building, and the survival mechanics they implemented after release then go for it and pirate it you retarded nigger, do not give them your money under any circumstances. It is a good game if you like the kind of stuff above, but it's still an abomination of a Fallout game because the writing is so horrendously garbage. If you play it you absolutely need the mod to delete the voice files for the protagonist as well as a couple other popular mods that should be easy to find.

It's not very intuitive but you can do some cool stuff with electricity. Aligning walls seems like it is really well implemented at first until you start mixing different parts that don't line up or get seriously confused once you start making corners (seriously that shit is extremely inconsistent and you will fuck them up and have to go back and redo half your building).

Also there is no roleplaying left in this roleplaying game. Do like the other user said, just pirate it.

If you look a the patterns its probably going to come in 2017 or 2018

If there is a God then skyrim "remaster" won't sell for shit, right? I mean people aren't dumb enough to fall for that…
There is no God.

If you own Skyrim on steam you get it for free.

Unfortunately, from what I understand, conversations are all "scenes" now, and the four dialogue limit with no branching paths is a feature baked into the CK.

So unless modders use advanced scripting plugins and create an entirely new dialogue system to exist side-by-side with the established one - not even mods will be able to fix this shitshow in user-made quests. You cannot fix the main game's dialog, since the scenes are littered with script fragments that will break the game the moment you try to circumvent them - and any new dialogue system modders could implement wouldn't be able to handle scripts which actually do things to advance the game.

The best bet now is to totally redo the entire game from the ground up with the communities own engine and development tools ala OpenMW.

Which would require people to actually give enough of a shit to do it, and we'd have Fallout 6: Definitive Warfare Edition before it was even in a playable state.

I don't mind that they fixed up the FPS mechanics, I just wish they didn't think we apparently wouldn't notice, and so insisted on crafting the whole fucking game around shooting things in the face.

Bullshit. I wouldn't be half-surprised to find out that Bethesda paid him off to do that. SkyUI requires SKSE, which doesn't work on consoles. There's no way to make SkyUI without it. If Bethesda can kill SkyUI, then they can effectively kill a good chunk of the mods which require it. This will mean more modders will be making "New" and more "Console Friendly" mods for Skyrim Remaster - rather than porting over SKSE requiring mods and keeping them tied to the PC.

Wasn't that faggot one of the first ones to bend over and suck Bethesda's cock for paid modding?

This guy isn't based. He's part of the cancer.

Agreed.

bump

Go home, gamer girl.
