Fuck you Karen

Risen 1 is good, 2 and 3 are godawful trash inspite of actually having some interesting shit like voodoo and pirates n shiet

This War of Mine is pretty nice. It reminds me a lot of that flash game, The Last Stand, but actually done right instead of that fucking garbage that ended up being the series post the second game and for 5 bux I think you're getting it for a good price. You can also pirate it since it's about 700 mbs and give it a shot and decide on that.

Dunno about the rest, but I think I did enjoy Fable 2 a bit and I hear Fable 1's the best of the series anyways.

Wanted to ask about
I don't care about price at all

Nah fuck you leatherman

Fable Anniversary gives me motion sickness. If you're sensitive to that, I'd avoid it.

I liked Final Fantasy XIII. Granted, I played it at a time when I was sick as a dog and fevered to hell and I just wanted a simple game that required minimal effort on my part, but it was a pretty decent way to spent a couple of days bed ridden. And after that I got to run around Gran Pulse monster huntin' and had a good time. The battle system starts off as garbage but soon becomes pretty fucking sweet.

The Risen games are the B movies of games. They are good enough if that's your exact niche, but otherwise you will find yourself wondering what the fuck this steaming pile of shit is. If you've a passing interest in pirate themed WRPGs, $5 for the lot is a bargain.

Final Fantasy XIII is an abomination. It is 70% actual straight line maps with the illusion of other areas around it. You play one character and set the others to tank, heal, dps or support and they play themselves. They story is so bad it actively disproves its own world building several times and in every single regard it is the worst jrpg ever made.

It was one slightly deranged mans attempt to make his tulpa waifu the new rei/asuka of japan and Playstation owners had to put up with the entire PS3 lifespan being nothing but 'the decade of lightning'.

I'm not mad, i'm furious and always will be. A fucking decade of that vapid, pink haired gender swapped cloud and her games that you could literally play with a thumbstick and the x button.

It is a travesty with no equal, breath of fire dragon quarter did more justice to its ip, dungeon keeper mobile was less of a brand poisoner than her.

They compeletely redesigned FFXIV and caved on the VII remake purely to save a former 'best of show' E3 jaw dropper that even japan considered no longer worth touching as every fucking release had to include "the goddess, like a rose, of inspiration".

Never touch it, a dollar is too much. If you ever believe another user on Holla Forums believe this, its for your own good.

What about it gives you motion sickness? Is the fps or fov really shitty?

Really low FOV and obnoxious use of bloom and camera wobble. Worse than Amalur and Shadow of Mordor even.

If anybody can recommend some Steam JRPGs that aren't fucked on PC (I'm talking proper 1080p, 60fps, actually runs like something made by competent people) I would love to hear about them.

FF13 is a tough sell. There is a ton of things that are strange (until chapter 10, there is zero exploration. It is one long hallway in terms of mechanics).

The whole "doesn't get good until 20 hours" thing is EXACTLY true. I told myself I was going to power to it because I dislike people who try to talk shit about stuff they don't know, and if I was going to jump on the "shit on 13" bandwagon, I had to see what was going on.

There was a moment when I got in a fight that kicked my ass. I tried again and got stomped again. For some reason I simply could not figure out what to do. The "ravenger into commando" thing simply no longer was viable. I looked at all the mechanics and figure out how everything worked indepth, and then tried again. Once everything came together, I had a moment of "Wow, this is incredibly fun". Switching constantly because paradigms (that I specifically set up for certain moments), using the right abilities, and utilizing your eidolon correctly, it all just clicked

When I next saved the game, it said the time counter was at 19 hours.

The story is on par with the weaker final fantasy stories. Which means, fairly uncompelling. The characters are pretty cool though, and I found them a lot more likable than I expected (especially strange that the black guy was interesting).

I haven't played the sequels, but I know when they came out a lot of people said they were like the "fun part" of 13 (late in the chapters it becomes open world). And were generally more well received, but the complaint being that they were sequels to a game that was very nationalizing.

I am very happy to play 13, but I am not sure how much I recommend it. There is also a problem of difficulty. You can probably beat about 4 out of 5 fights without doing really any thought or effort. But it will take you a long time and you will be rated poorly. Comparatively, master the mechanics and you will rip through those same fights. A lot of the game's difficulty isn't from completing things, but completing them well. That is until about a third of the way through when bosses start having things that wipe you instantly for fucking things up.

Thanks user! Should I get all the Risen games for a fiver then do you think? Or just the first game?

I played this, it's a bit like if Stalker were linear and set underground. Not really my thing personally, Stalker isn't really my thing either, I don't like feeling scared. Or not scared necessarily, like Stalker it's just kinda a 'Feeling lonely in a place that is potentially very dangerous' feeling that makes me feel uncomfortable.

I dunno it's probably worth playing regardless, especially if it's cheap. Gameplay and stuff is good, remember to buy lots of ammo!

Which indie to buy? Or any other suggestions?

wait does This War of Mine have a story?

sounds terrible. any waifus?

I suppose, I'd check the wiki.

Tales Principle is really good. Decent puzzles, runs well on pretty much any system, and has some pretty interesting lore and writing.

Talos Principle is pretty fucking good
Gameplay is like if portal respected your intelligence, and the writing on the whole is a lot less pretentious than you'd normally expect from a AAA game trying to tackle philosophy
Get the DLC too if you end up getting it, it's arguably better, and practically mandatory

Good MMX type game, done by the same guys that made MN9, but don't let that discourage you, Inafune was really the one holding that project down, Its actually breddy gud, its even got wall kicking

However if you have a 3DS with CFW, just pirate it there instead, the only advantage the PC version has over the 3ds version is some dialogue that NIS was too lazy to translate on the 3ds version got cut.

Reminder to play more old games.

Reminder that karenfag is literally as bad as a avatarfagging tripfag

Do I need autism to play this games anons? I'd love a little alt history WWII simulator but I don't know if GS is really my thing

What advantages does AS2 have over the first one? Does it support FLAC?

Legend of Grimrock 2 is really fucking good. I'm not even into puzzles or dungeon crawling but that game had me really into it for the entirety of the game.

I also would like to know more about this series, can you upload your own music and audiosurf that music? where does the fun come from? is it just a way to listen to music while doing a videogame thing?

Nowadays Karen would be raped and murdered by masked "anti-fascist" sandniggers for waring a Union Jack jacket.

How's the pc port on Azure Striker? I heard it was shit on release but I don't know for now.

Linear shooter, still pretty good
Don't get the redux

Not really, it might take a bit before you get the hang of it though
Make sure you get the expansions, especially Their Finest Hour
Play your first game as a minor, or the US to figure everything out

How is that recent Batman game? Arkham Knight or whatever. Not the PC version which I recall was atrocious.

I have a feeling you didn't really play FFXIII from your oversimplification of the battle system. 5-starring most battles in the second half of the game is impossible by just slamming the auto battle button.

Dishonored with or without the DLCs

Fuck me I still want an Union Jacket.
looks cool.

fun game, you pilot either a mech, tank, or anti grav and pick two guns(what guns you can pick are determined by what mounts your vehicle has, the mounts are small/turret/aux/main/heavy) then a special ability(there are four but the weakest one is going to get revamped i heard) and then you fuck shit up

also good soundtrack

If you haven't played the earlier Batman Arkham games, give one of those a try. The newest one is pretty similar but prettier.

I played dishonoured once and I cried of boredom. You're supposed to be sneaky but sneaky games are shit so I just shoot them, it's a wank game.

Dishonored was pretty good, its main focus is Stealth and thats what it wants you to sort of play, despite you being able to just fight everyone with swords and rush through it. The DLC is just you playing as one of the villains you fight in the main game. Its fun if you keep trying to do some intense shit like pause time and then shoot a shit ton of arrows at one guy, then rushing over to another or some shit like that.

Enjoy :^)
Feels good

It's got Vanille and Lumina
Vanille is actually the closest FF has ever gotten to soft core porn, first pic related

...

Daily reminder to report this fuck for ban evasion

Yeah, you just throw your mp3s at it and it makes tracks out of it. The gameplay consists of trying to gather blocks of different colours in such a way that they line up, so they're cleared from your board. Different colours are worth more so there's a bit of decision making (do I hold out for more reds or should I focus on just gathering as many blues since they're everywhere?) There are a few different craft for you to surf with, which basically add a different kind of gimmick to this gameplay.

Is there any game that is like dark souls?

cheers mate

I'm different than OP, actually.
Just decided to post Karen for freedom's sake.

How do you know he was banned user, are you a hotpocket?

I think it's fair to assume that avatar shitposters have already been banned at least once.

You collect colored blocks to rack up a high score with different "cars" that change up the rules like being able to delete blocks or letting rng take care of your score by scrambling the blocks if your line up doesn't look well.

Also yes you can listen to whatever song you have on your computer. IIRC I think it's claim to fame was that it was one first somewhat successful games to let you play with your music.

s a u c e i have been looking for the nude model for so long

I just found out yesterday that NightCry got released and has had multiple patches now.

Is it fun? Worth playing, not necessarily paying for. I'll judge the latter after I play it, although I do have lower standards for horror games and adventure games in general.

I want to ask about Rayman Origins. Is it still worth getting the game if I already played Legends?

Imagine what they can do with Boris at the helm.

(Checked)
Pretty sure it was only the upper part that was modeled. However if a modder could fill in the blanks…

i would if i had it..

Is the Mad Max game worth less than $20? It seems like there'd be some entertainment with driving around the wasteland and using a harpoon to pull everything around like in Just Cause, but the on-foot Bamham combat puts me off, as does hearing that the game is really fucking repetitive and stale after a while.

I had some fun with it. The driving is pretty fun and seeing that car combat is a rarity nowadays it has at least that going for it. Apart from that it's your run of the mill open world game ala Ubisoft, shitty story, countless worthless collectibles and mandatory leveling included. Arguably more time fighting on foot (it's brain dead Batman fighting, but it's got a hefty feel to it if that matters) than by car, that may vary by how much of damn you give about side content though.

I paid like 17$ on release, so I don't know if sub 20$ is all that grand. You might be able to squeeze some fun out of it, but I'd wait until it drops to a solid 5-10$.

Fucking solid PC port though, real good shit.

also why is the complete edition 99 dollars? what the fuck?

Yeesh, that low? Although I guess that this rate, the price will be heading towards that range anyway, so I suppose I'm better off saving my money. I should mention I would be getting the PS4 version due to being a console faggot, so I don't know if the console versions are riddled with bugs or what compared to PC.

You'd be a fool to NOT get it, user. One of the best 4 player coop experiences out there. The campaign itself is fairly short, but I kept coming back to it over and over because of all the new and different things you can use and do. Plus you get character customization after beating it the first time, so you can make your own monster killing waifu that still grunts like a man if you wish. Although, there are two factors to keep in mind: online is probably near dead at this point so you'll want some buddies to get it too likely, and if you're getting the PC version, it uses GFWL.

I personally really hated both games. I thought them horrid fighters with atedious story mode. If you're incredibly big on P4 you should get a kick out of it though.

Fantastic game, but only if you have at least one friend to play it with.

Well I can't really say much about that version apart from 30FPS!!!!

Serious though, if you are the kind to enjoy mediocre open world games, 20$ isn't wrong. And as a PS4 owner myself, I can fully understand a thirst for new stuff. Might I suggest Sleeping Dogs as alternative? Shouldn't be much costlier nowadays and doesn't get stale as quick.

What the fuck is up with Bully's frame rate?

No point in getting that again since I already got it for 'free' on Xbox 360. Damn fun game.

...

Been meaning to get the Witcher 3, is it any good? Only open-world game I played was MGSV up to this point.

If you like eating raw ass, you'll love it.

Don't play it. It's a shit excuse for a stealth game

Niggers like you are the reason why actual stealth games are dead. Kill yourself.

Might as well have just called this thread "Games that don't deserve their own thread"

Anyway, is Battlezone 98 Redux any good?
It came up while I was trying to get my 3 daily cards, and I liked what I saw.

Subnautica is alright but I don't know about buying it, unless you enjoy just swimming around there isn't much point to the game

It's okay but the combat is disappointing.
The best Open World game of this generation (which doesn't mean much to be fair).

I've got way too many games on my Steam wishlist to go into full detail over, so I wanna get your opinions on a couple of them. For now, what do people think about
>Anima Gate of Memories (20% off for $16 only on my wishlist because of Cr1tikal)

Alisu > Karen

I might rip it this week and make a thread then
For those dubs

They dont exist. You settle or you get nothing.

>Start yarharring
Fucking christ

anigay

Don't give NISA money you ninny

Tell me about:

And a really obscure one to end it off

You'll love it or hate it. There aren't random encounters like other FF games, you see enemies as you run around. And you can either choose your moves, or set up a system of automatic movesets and conditions.

The story is typical JRPG shit, and I got bored after about 15 hours both times I tried to play it.

If you really want to play it, pirate the Zodiac job system edition. It fixes some stupid shit.

Im saying if you want to have alittle fun with it. It can still be a good stealth game.

No it isn't. You're given way too much over powered super hero shit for it to be a real stealth game.

Maybe if Shithonored wasn't developed by a bunch of ex-Thief devs it probably would be seen as a decent first person action game, but considering its pedigree there's no excuse for how fucking casual it is. You probably liked it because you were one of the normalfag playtesters for the game.

Dishonored feels like a game that really doesn't know what it wants to be. It calls itself a stealth game, but then gives you all these crazy super powers to kill people with. It gives you all these crazy super powers to kill people with, and then punishes you for killing people.

Well I guess there in lies it, I played it on a hard difficulty and I gave myself a handicap to play without killing anyone and trying to knock everyone out while also not using some of the good abilities. I got a torrent of it a year ago

How's the Tales of Symphonia port? Any good? Any bad?

I heard it had some problems upon launch, but they've mostly been ironed out.

Fuck off parasite.

I bought Dork Souls a week or two ago when it was $5, always meant to play it because of how much Holla Forums creamed themselves over it. I remember reading something that said I needed a mod to do something regarding the graphics or the frame rate but I can't remember what it was exactly.

Is there anything Dark Souls can be compared to, for someone who's never played any Souls-likes because

Only played the first one so take this with a pinch of salt.
It's a big beat-em-up tits. It's written well and it's quite quirky and humorous.
Good for fucking around in bursts and for shaking your fist at feminists.

It establishes its own genre, I can't quite think of anything else like it. Actually, nothing is like it.
The mechanics are very weighty, meaning when you make an action, your character will commit to it, so you will be punished for acting recklessly. All the same, it's very rewarding to triumph.

There are likely patches to remove the hard 30fps limit. Google around and you'll find them.

Its called DS Fix nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/19/?

You will also need Wulf's Connectivity Mod so that you can actually play with people online nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/1047/?

And as long as you have a controller you're good to go really. But the only Souls-Like game I've played is Monster Hunter, even though Demons Souls Copied them really

>>>Holla Forums

I have the two 3DS titles already, but I know the PC/Vita version is a different thing entirely. I just wanna know if it's worth 27 buckaboos, because that's a hell of a commitment.

Then pirate it, jackass. Actually, everyone in this thread should do that and stop asking stupid questions. Pirate the game and see if you like it.

I can't vouch for the redux version specifically but the original version is an outstanding game.

I played a game recently called Lords of the Fallen and I didn't like it very much, but the combat is very similar to Dark Souls. You should look into it I think.

I wanted to ask about Gloria Victis and Life is Feudal, basically, I want a medieval multiplayer RPG like those, but the fact that both will have a F2P version in the future, both are early-access and both have extremely autistic farming mechanics make me want to stay away.

Is there any good Multiplayer RPG (possibly an MMO) like those but without the fucking crafting ? I hate this fucking trend.

Fucking horrendous pile of shit. Played it back on the Xbox.
Never played
Shit
Never played

Any of you fags still playing this?

Lords of the Fallen tried to ride the hype train. It's not great, but if you want an action adventure game with weighty combat then it will suit for as long as it lasts. Just don't expect anything ground breaking and be prepared because there are unpatched CTDs some people experience.

Locked to 30fps and 720p.

Posting in a ruggarell thread:

archive.is/mfzzd
archive.is/OwB5t

I heard the xbox port was dreadful.

I don't even know what ruggarell is

Battle Fantasia: it's a DotEmu game, but is it an overwhelming problem? Or does it still play well enough?

More games I'd like to know about:

Pirate them, don't give Bioware and EA money
The first is interesting and had a lot of future potential, 2 turned it into a corridor 3rd person shooter
Play the first, then forget that 2 and 3 exist

Thinking of getting Warband, do i need any essential mod for it or anything i should know before buying it?
I didn´t buy shit on this sale, i need recommendations
Also any good Space exploration game? I was thinking on Elite:Dangerous but the reviews are terrible and the devs seems to be shit

DOOM

Most mods just build on what was already there in vanilla. Pick the most popular one for whatever historical flavor tickles your fancy.

Spacechem and the Talos Principle are good puzzle games. Original War is a greatly underrated RTS/RPG hybrid (every unit you have is a unique individual with skills and a profession) with choices and consequences, is under $1 too.

Spiders Studios are the "on a budget" cRPG developers. Their games aren't really that great, but you can tell they at least tried to make an effort, and I love them for tackling such a difficult genre without much money.

If you give some genres/games you like I might have more.

If i only get one game in the Company of Heroes franchise, which one should it be?

The first one

No, but it helps. It's still the most complicated game that Paradox has made yet, and HoI4 is casualized garbage even compared to HoI2/DH.
It's got a complex and in-depth combat system, lots of army and tech customization options, and once you get past the learning cliff it's a solid entry placed firmly between the GS genre and autist-tier wargames. There's guides to play it everywhere, and you can pop over to one of the GS threads here to find them. Finnbro's guide is pretty good.

Otherwise, you can try out Darkest Hour. It's an updated remake of HoI2 with a map that isn't garbage and mechanics that aren't 2003-era shit. Same basic mechanics as HoI3, but the combat system is simplified into doomstack pushing in return for the diplomatic options being worth a single shit.

Civilization V Complete

Anyone know if Deadly Tower of Monsters is good enough for seven fitty?

Is Cave Story + worth it if I apply the translation patch?

What advantages does AoE II HD have over the original other than AI changes and the obvious change in graphics?

I want to culturally enrich Karen.

Fable is pretty shallow game. Fuck that shit, get Shenmue 1/2 with some emulator instead.

IT'S THE ONE GAME I FUCKING DIDN'T HAVE ON MY XBOX

Axiom Verge, up front, is a slightly worse version of super metroid. If you enjoy games like super metroid, you will probably enjoy your first playthrough and never touch it again. There are some interesting parts of Axiom Verge, mainly the lore of the game, should you look for it, and messing with things using the upgrades you obtain. For 13 canadacuck dollars, it's an okay deal.
You are a fucking loser weaboo who gets caught up in a conspiracy about vampires by signing a contract for free figurines. You run around a kind of accurate version of Akihabara and strip vampires of their clothes in Yakuza-style battles. There's a shit ton of side stuff to do, and the game has multiple endings. If you're a fan of open world beat-em-ups and/or weebshit, you could give it a try for $16.
This is a platformer/shmup/VN with castlevania style exploration. You are a bunny, turned bunnygirl, looking for your master. The story is nothing to write home about, but the gameplay is very solid. Character customization comes in the form of paper mario style badges, and there are plenty of sub weapons to use. This game also provides a decent challenge, even on normal, and has plenty of difficulties to unlock. This game pulls a bayonetta on you TWICE and has some extra content, and has a great soundtrack. The publisher are HUGE assholes though. I would recommend Rabi-Ribi for that price point.

Western VN/Bejeweled game with a sense of humor. Find waifus and fuck them with bejeweled. It's short, but it's good for the very low price point.

I tried playing Shenmue 1 on emulator a while back. I was 3 hours in and the whole thing crashed when I tried to save. Haven't played it since.

I want to buy a a weeb game.

The following seem interesting:

Any thoughts appreciated

Ok I want to ask about that new FExPersona game, "Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE".

Yes, I know it's censored out the ass but I was looking at it and it seems like a neat JRPG for the WIIU with cool graphics. Is it possible that I could import the JP version of the game and play it on my WIIU? Any chance there will be a fan translation patch for it later?

Your point is moot if the game uses Denuvo, dipshit.

Is Resident Evil 1 HD worth a buy?

The Ys games are very solid hack and slashes, best played on the highest difficulties. The earlier games have a different combat system than the new ones.

Neptunia is a JRPG about console girls. Combat uses turns for people to move and attack, but it uses sphere hitboxes instead of square ones. Translations have not been great. The references to consoles, developers and game culture itself are actually nice.

Momodora as in Reverie Under the Moonlight, or Momodora 3?

Wii U is region locked
Uncensored patch? maybe, fan translation? most likely not

attached image.
some games are better to play on one platform or another.

I'm assuming you mean the Rebirth series on Steam. decent games assuming you know what you're buying, translation is fine for the first game, for the second game download the retranslation patch (which you can find on /nep/)

The new one.

I'm assuming you mean the Rebirth series on Steam.
Yes. I think i know what I'm getting into.

I think Neptunia sounds most appealing to me.
Ys doesn't really seem like my kind of game.

I think i will pirate Nekopara just for catgirl boobs. Will support the devs if i like it.

Thanks for the info guys.

Reverie Under the Moonlight, then. It's good. It's a Platforming/Action game that has a dark souls combat roll. You are a priest with a purifying leaf sent to cleanse a city of a plague. The game has an enjoyable challenge (Not hard, but still requires effort) and has an incredibly hard unlockable difficulty. Also has 2 endings.

is divinity OS worth 20 buckaroos

Ayaya > Every other bitches

Fuck off gook.

Anyone. Deadly Tower of Monsters. I can't make my own opinion until I've tried it myself, and the torrent's gonna take a while, so until then, can anyone give me their own stance.

Mass effect collection,worth it?

Don't give Bioware/EA the satisfaction, idiot.

Which old Tomb Raider game is best to start with?
I don't care about tank controls or graphics.

The FPS is locked, the whole port is a pretty big mess.
You can unlock it with the .exe from this guide, but you'll have to set it to 60 max by enabling v-sync in options unless you want the game to go fast.
Keep the old .exe for certain missions that get fucked if you use this.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=121093956

here's what I got I don't think I'll get anything else
I watched the ross's game dungeon and they looked pretty interesting
any other really cheap games I should consider getting don't feel like spending much money so anything under $10?

I didn't fuckin listen and I played it, it fucking sucks ass, it makes you switch characters every 2 fuckin minutes so in the opening you barely get to know them and the hallway joke isn't a fuckin joke you walk in a straight line you go on a 2 second branch fight some nigs then get an optional item.
it is so fucking boring.

huniepop is really good and it gets really fuckin hard, it will make you furious but then the fap is just that much better. Get the uncensored patch for it too.

Pretty sure you can skip Enslaved. Ninja Theory's only made one good game in its lifetime, and that was Heavenly Blade.

ME1 was nice.
ME2 was a shooter that didn't really give me motivation to get 3

They're pretty good, save for Nosgoth, which is dead now.

Never played a Legacy of Kain game and I think Nosgoth was fine.

Okay, so here's what I'm thinking about getting, and lemme know if anything should be removed.

Also, should I add any of these:

Is Rocket League good?

Is there any game like a 3rd person diablo? the only one i know is hellgate

Isn't Diablo already a 3rd person game? Do you mean like a close-up camera thing like GTA or Gears?

I still want to culturally enrich Karen.

pls respond.

3rd person ARPG? Dragon's Dogman

I didn't want to make a new thread for a single question so I guess it fits in best here.
I want to play the new Odin's Sphere but don't have a PS4.
Are there any similar games on PC with
The only one's that come to my mind are Dust and Valdis Story I already played though.
Any help is appreciated.

Is that a shop? How did he catch on fire?

How is the last remnant and does lightning returns get any better / how penalizing is its time limit? I just wanted some mediocre RPGs to play until the new South Park comes out and picked these two
Also when do I get more teammates in lightning returns

Oh sorry saw ff13 was answered
I still am curious on the time limit thogh, like is the game penalizing to the point I won't finish it my first eunthrough without a bad end or something? I've never played a timed game

My little user can't be this retarded.

Salt and Sanctuary kinda does two out of three, but not really the way you're looking for. Rather than being an animu-styled spectacle fighter thing, it's basically 2D Dark Souls. So there's a lot of attack reading, dodge rolling, etc.

You might wanna try Momodora, too. Folks have been talking about it a lot around here. There's two games in the series on Steam right now; one has chibi sprites and quick combat, the second has larger sprites and more slow methodical combat with dodge rolling and the like.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is… almost what you might be looking for? It's a side scrolling beat-em-up like Double Dragon, but instead of moving freely in eight dimensions, there's two set lanes that you and some enemies can jump between.

And one more, because I'm seeing it: Rabi-Ribi. An animu metroidvania about rabbit girls and fairy girls joining forces to fight evil. Combat involves a combination of close-range hammer attacks and using your fairy to cast damaging spells, kinda like your fairy buddy in Dust. This one's a lot more bullet hell than the others in terms of boss attack patterns.

I played Salt and Sanctuary (should've mentioned it)
Momodora looks nice and Battle Grounds seems ok as well.
Rabi-Ribi however seems more like a platformer from what I've seen.

Thanks alot though, user. If you have anymore I beg you.

Rabi Ribi is an unholy combination of Megaman and Metroid

it's fun as fuck though, except when you play on christopher robin tier higher difficulties

you can also beat the game without picking up any items due to the bossess scaling with your item count

I reviewed the PS4 version and I thought it was decent. It's good for one hilarious playthrough.

It's fun. But it's not for everyone.

No.

Ayayayayayayayayayaya a shit.

Or you could get the original fable since it wasn't a fucking disastrous port.

Whatsa good recent space sim. I want a modern Elite 3 experience: smuggling, trucking, piracy, dogfighting, the works. I have led many X3 universes to FPS death and I just want to make profits.

I tried Rebel Galaxy. I really, REALLY liked it, specially the soundtrack. But the obtuse fucks decided against a Linux release when they have a Mac OS one on Steam and GoG. The thing kept crashing on Wine randomly after like 20-ish minutes no matter what I do, so I just refunded it and pirated the gog version.

Looking at Starmade and Reassembly at the moment, tried the demo of the former which also crashed, and I am not giving a dime to early access ever.

gif is still funny AF. mind if i save it?

Could anyone give me their opinion on this?

give me more lolis

What's wrong with the redux editions?

From the videos ive seen it looks pretty bad

Yes, like pic related

How hard is it to get the uncensored patch onto it? I'm not really good at this kind of thing.

The dlc is pretty much mandatory to play. AI is shit, many mechanics regress since IV, but the endgame is a little better, and the UI is good. If you just want a casual 4X, it's good. Dont expect anything too deep. Mods can fix it, but not that much

Possibly. This is an HD version of the GC remake of the first Resi, which was amazing. Ive not played the PC version, but the game itself is good.

The very first. Each sequel adds gameplay mechanics, so going backwards makes you want to die. Going chronologically is perfect because there was a remake of the first one with all the features added since. There were no TR games made past Underworld.

Worse performance and graphics iirc. Theres a comparison video out there somewhere

Phantom Breaker is Guardian Heroes, as far as I was aware. Lane based, with the ability to combo a little easier and has special inputs.

Nope, just play the original.

Skip all of the Sakura games, they're just low quality smut. Unless you like exclusively archetypical characters, there's nothing in them. HuniePop is actually a decent Match-3, and the OST is nice.

PC version has Denuvo.
Console version is capped at 30fps with drops.
Either way, you're fucked.

Lost Planet 2 is dead on all platforms, so only get it if you can play it with a bro or three. Also, GFWL, so if you aren't lucky you'll have to fuck around to make the game work.

It's a shit game, even without the censorship. Easy as fuck regardless of difficulty setting, extremely long unskippable attack animations, completely linear dungeons, etc. Save yourself the time and money, and skip it.

The Neptunia games are all low-budget low-quality games that carry themselves entirely on fanservice. If you want a very simple, easy, shallow game with potentially likable characters and a lot of interactions between them, go for it. Just be aware that Re;Birth 2 and 3 have extremely cancerous NISA-tier meme-localizations and require retranslation patches (made by the /nep/ community here on 8ch) to be tolerable. For that reason I recommend pirating 2 and 3, since buying them would send the message that the Doerr meme localizations are fine (which they aren't.)

Anyway, I saw a friend play Project Nimbus briefly, and it actually looked neat.

Game looks fairly complete in its current state, minus the janky UI. I know there's a catch, though, there's always a catch.

Ok, now that it's been a while since I asked that I changed some choices around.

What should I get:

Forgot to mention this, I am garbage at both shmups and rougelikes.

...

So, are any of the Dead Rising games worth getting? I would assume 2 or Off The Record, but are they, like, must-haves?

They're tolerable with friends, but the PC ports are pretty wonky.

It's as simple as a txt file. Google it

Is the port for dynastry warriors 8 any good?

Also I wanted to ask about the third trine game

faggots like you are the reason no stealth came out in years

Stealth is a shit genre anyway.

Which of the Shadowrun games (Returns, Dragonfall, Hong Kong) is the best (or best value), both overall and for someone who hasn't played any of them?

Or are they all shit?

I think Dragonfall is the one people like the most.

Reminder that when you buy a game, none of your money goes towards the developers, only the publishers. Reminder that both steam and GOG take a 30% cut of the profits from a game. Reminder that the best way to support game developers is by donating your money directly to them.

Noted, that was the one I was looking at to begin with anyway.

Also, Dishonored is a pretty good FPS/fighter that can pass as a decent stealth game if you play it right.

I think a lot of the hate for it on Holla Forums stems from matters like being published by Bethesda.

Do people actually send devs money in an envelope after pirating their games? lmao

If the developer is still active, it does.

Fixed

oftentimes the publisher will continue to pocket the steambux after the dev team was forcibly disbanded.

What games out there have some really good gun play? Great sounds (especially non-firing sounds like reloading) and a great feel when you fire the weapon. I'm looking for a more on the realistic side when it comes to guns but some cuhrayzee will be acceptable.

Yes, but when the developer is still around you are depriving them money.

No, it's more that the devs wanted it to be a stealth game, but all the tools they give you are for combat

The DLC missions where you play as an assassin are actually better at stealth since they throw a lot more tools for it at you

Blood Dragon

...

anyone
pls

How important is an 8gb GPU vs a 4gb one? I'm thinking of getting the new RX 480. I'm fine with 1080p.

To put it short, there are none

asciisector.net/

If you intend to play any recent games, first get some fucking taste. 4 GB is more than enough. With the death of optimization I reckon 8GB might become necessary in about 4~5 years. I wouldn't want to play anything that requires that though, since those devs just wouldn't care at that point.

I thought this was fucking dead, thanks user

After grinding enough card money, I can get To the Moon. Should I? I've only heard good things about it.

Explain

You only need a killer rig if you want to play unoptimized shit like Fallout 4.

Is Spiderman Shattered Dimensions any good?

**also please respond to this
**

Also the arkham games, are those any good? I've been itching to play superhero games but I'm not really a sandbox fan

Whatever you do, avoid Arkham Knight. I don't think they ever really fixed the issues with the PC version.
Arkham City or Asylum are the two people might consider the best in the series, anyway.

Is Thea: The Awakening any good?
It looks kinda interesting.

Newfag detected, damn when will summer end?

Should I get Senran Kagura now for maximum salt, or wait until the price goes down next sale?

Is Skullgirls worth a buy, or are the devs not worthy of any money?

Don't listen to . risen 2 and 3 aren't really bad games. Jesus Christ, everyone wants every PB game to be exactly like Gothic 2 and gets pissed off when it isn't. That team is gone, the people who worked on it are gone, and you need to look at the other PB games as their own entities. Gothic 2 is the best CRPG ever made, so comparing shit to it is insane.

Now, Risen 2 isn't horrible. Yes, it's short, linear, and the combat needed work, but Risen 3 fixes those problems by creating a larger world, a bit more non-linearity, and an easily exploitable combat system that even a 5 year old could become godlike at.

IMO, Risen 3 is actually the best of the Risen series for that reason alone. Risen 1 did have some good quests though, like the "murder mystery" at the inquisition castle. But the endless spawns of lizard men in the last "dungeon" and all the backtracking you had to do makes you forget the good moments.

Still, overall, all 3 Risens are worth playing if you like wonky European action RPGs. They're an acquired taste.

Here, read my Risen 3 review if you're skeptical:

nichegamer.com/reviews/risen-3-titan-lords-review/

Only the EE version and only if you have a friend to play with. The game is made for Co-op.

has a decent explanation of the SJW nonsense.

Yeah, they're mediocre at worst. I got ample enjoyment out of them unlike most RPGs nowadays.

Any Dating simulators?

I remember there was a racing game in which you could blow up stuff because you were part of a movie, anyone know it's name?

The roster is so small that if you get it, you also have to get the dlc characters, so you should factor that into the price.

have you played Gothic? If not try that before considering Risen.

It came with modding tools and was advertised as such, but the modding tools have no compatibility with the actual game so it's completely unmoddable

If you have to handicap yourself, the game isn't good

Borderlands

Dustforce - Should I use a controller or keyboard? I've already bought it and having fun with it, but haven't yet mastered the controls

I still want to culturally enrich Karen.

Is Umbrella Corps worth getting for $22(G2A) if the main appeal for me is the customization and RE setting?

No

Alisu > Karen

Fuck off Jafar, you're going back.

Well thanks for confirming my fears. On that note, is Raccoon City worth it for $5.99?

I thought a d-pad was better, unless you want to destroy one of your gamepads' analog sticks. Always wanted to try it with a fightstick, too, but I don't own one.

I will never go 2d with an analog stick, unless it's a top-down perspective. especially not when pressing up or down can drastically effect movement
My only problem is it's a PSX dualshock, so the d-pad isn't exactly glamorous. maybe this will be the game that pushes me over the edge of buying a saturn jp controller and adapter

Any single player fps with really satisfying and good shotgun to use?

pls no doom, quake, hl1-2,serious sam or any pre 2000 gayms as i've played those allready also ignore the pic, just there to rustle some /k/ jimmies

DOOM(new one), Wolfenstein TNO, RAGE, Deus Ex HR

Here's an important question: can anyone recommend games with fun local multiplayer? Can be either co-op or versus. The friends I bring have had good times with shit like Skullgirls, Samurai Gunn, Castle Crashers and Broforce.

isn't his shotgun only a purple? and I don't remember all that other shit on it.

Should I pick up any of these? any glaring problems from any of them?

4 hours straight
Christ lads is it actually possible to beat the sex scene? If sex is that hard in real life, I'm fucked.

Have to hand it to them though, it was smart of them to make this game playable one handed.

Quite unfinished but still a great time if you're into building shit.

Anyone? Local multiplayer games?

Divinity is pretty good, I'm playing it with a friend and we're nearing the end now after 60 hours.

It's not very hard, but it's proper RPG in term of mechanics, something most games lack nowadays.

Far Cry 2, you can hate the game all you want, but the gun game especially shotguns were great

Is Multiwinia worth getting or just Darwinia?

My shopping cart is unnervingly large at this point. Can someone judge it before I fudge it?

g-guys I'm such a consumer XD

I am culturally enriching Karen.

A more vague request: can anyone recommend any sci-fi/cyberpunk/futuristic themed games, maybe an rpg, with lots of customization as far as weapons/equipment and shit?

Shadowrun: Dragonfall, Dex, Ghost 1.0, Underrail, Defragmented, System Shock, Deus Ex, Ronin, Satellite Reign, Invisible Inc, Transistor, XCOM. Maybe be a little more specific about what kind of games you like.

Having played Senran, Akiba's and Transformers I can say that those are all good games. I want to get Rabi-Rabi. I think you've done fine lad.

Since my original list was nearing a hundred dollars, I decided to be a little more sparing. Maybe. I'm thinking instead get only games that are half off or more, with maybe one "cheat" game that's less off.

Currently the new list is less than 50, and my choices of "cheats" are either Senran, Momodora, or Rabi-Ribi. I could maybe drop Momodora if I decide to play the first games in the series first, but which of them would you suggest I go for?

Don't know mate. Only played Senran Estival on my Vita. Like I said, I'm interested in Rabi-Rabi. Don't know Momodora.

I would always recommend playing the first one in the series first, absent any other context (for example I would NOT recommend playing the Witcher 1 first because the gameplay is awful) so I'd say pick between Senrans and Rabi.

Thanks, great list, gonna check out Ghost 1.0 and Satellite Reign. I didn't get specific because I was looking for a long list like that, and you delivered.

Definitely look at Transistor if you haven't already.

Recommend me some RPG shit as well now that I have access to native PS2 and PS3, something I haven't had in years. Prices for physical copies much appreciated.

Played it and beaten it once, might go back to it at some point. Good game, I liked Bastion better though

I'm probably gonna keep asking this forever with no answer, but does anyone, anyone, know some good local multiplayer games? Good fighting games, good beat-em-ups, anything. I've got Skullgirls, I've got Castle Crashers, I've got Crawl and Lethal League and Broforce. What else is there on Steam? Skyhook? Rivals of Aether? The Dungeons and Dragons beat-em-up?

I can't even really think of anything I'd want outside of that.

Assault Android Cactus

SG has a good tutorial for fightan games in general. But a small roster sucks for a 3v3 max game. The game-director has great ideas for fightan but his execution of said ideas is bleh.

It's cheap enuff that it's worth getting if you have played fightans before.

Gameplay guys blog:
mikezsez.blogspot.com.au

The mass effect trilogy is fucking great. The third has some issues but it's still worth playing

I swear to god you summerfags are absolute cancer.

What's the difference between them?

What are some games similar to Huniepop? Does it have any sequels? asking for a friend.

Leave.

So since there's no SHMUP thread, figured I'd just ask here.

I was looking to pick up Hurricane of the Varstray in thr sale, heard alright things both here and elsewhere. But since the advent of the sale and more people bought it, it received a stream of negative reviews of people calling it low quality doujin-tier freeware and it being too easy.

Now I know steam reviews shouldn't always be taken seriously, but for a niche game like this I'd be more inclined to. Should I buy it?

There are only 5 negative reviews and all those negative reviewers have like 30 minutes on the game so they've barely touched it, the game is great and you should get it.

...

What games will re-spark the love for gaming that got taken away from me by MGSV?

I'm not into JRPGs that take for-fucking ever, but I do have both Xenoblade games. I'm not looking for a genre outside of that.

interested in ys. what would you say is a good one for someone who wants something technical that has a lot of movement options? lots of movement options are big for me

Is Super Mario 64 DD worth a try?
Did any faggot wind up leaking it?

Tell me about Stellaris, I know HOI IV is arse but is this one good?

Emulate Chibi Robo Park Patrol

It can barely kill ONE zombie in one hit point-blank

Yeh its dumped I played it for a few minutes, is there any differences between the 64 version?

At present? Not really. But it has a lot of potential, unlike HoI4, and looks lie it could be great after Parajew runs through the DLC hoops. It is better than HoI4 even in its present state

Neat, what's the difference between it and EUIV?

It's not a 'clean' GSG genre-wise, it's more like a mix between it and a 4X. Less complex mechanics and gameplay than Distant Worlds, but with more events and flavour and a better UI.

It's not really comparable with EU4; it's a different kind of game.

Guess I gotta try HoI3.

eh? Did I miss something?

Niiice, one of the best coop games.
I loved Arcana Heart 3, it's animufightan/airdasher so it's different from Street Fighter and it's not Skullgirls. Melty Blood also got released on steam, it's old but good.
Phantom Breaks doesn't seem bad. "seem" because I have no friends nearby to play local MP with and devs released online beta only recently after 2 years of console priorities.

Is Infinifactory worth getting?

Has anyone played the Patrician games series or Port Royale and can give a recommendation?

Good enough. Don't epect to be blown away, but it'll give you a few hours of decent fun before you finish it and never play it again
First Risen is good, others are bad. It's a spiritual Successor of Gothic, which is superior anyway. Go play Gothic.

Be sure to also try Darkest Hour. It packs less complex combat than HoI3, but the diplomacy, events, and decisions are all superior to HoI3 (you'll soon find just how utter dogshit HoI3 is in diplomacy)

i'm sold

Why is Gothic 1 the most expensive one?

Also the trailer doesn't tell you much. What's it about?
