The problem with trying to tackle the "slippery slope fallacy" meme is that it is not an actual thing. It's a rhetorical term used to allow someone to instantly dismiss all arguments against the government sanctioning same-sex couplings.

As you can see, what it is trying to imply is that any argument against it fails because there is no evidence that supports the arguments. This is simply untrue. But by throwing the term around, you never actually have to examine any of the arguments made, and can simply dismiss them, declare yourself victorious and in the right, and walk away.

On whatever ground you justify homosexual unions being recognized by the government, you must then apply that same justification to all cases, and anything which fits inside of that classification must also be accepted. This was a common argument against the government recognition, was that any of the things used to justify the state's interest could also be applied to several other couplings which most people would find repugnant or unacceptable.
