In the absence of any new footage, all we can discuss (other than hopes and expectations) is when and where the game takes place. So break out the continuity autism and place your bets!
Most common theories:
Points: - Koroks, who previously had only been seen in WW, appear in this game. Their aim was to recede the Great Sea by planting trees.
- Rock Salt from an "ancient ocean" can be found in the wild as an item.
- The old man in the beginning vaguely looks like King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule.
Or:
Points: - OoT Link is said to have been "defeated" in the Downfall timeline, BotW Link wakes up in the "Shrine of Resurrection".
- Villain of the game is "Calamity Ganon". In both the Adult and Child timelines, he was always better known as Ganondorf, and Ganon was at best a temporary super mode. Only in the Downfall timeline did Ganondorf succumb into permanently becoming "Ganon".
