Games Holla Forums Recommended You That You Enjoyed

Often times we have recommendation threads but we usually don't hear back if said anons enjoyed their games. Some user recommended me Tears To Tiara 2 for the Ps3 in a thread about Fire Emblem Fates. Recommending this as a TRPG to try out if you want something that's close to Fire Emblem but also a visual novel. Gotta say I'm definitely enjoying the game. Hard mode is definitely a challenge (almost on the level of Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn hard) and I'm actually enjoying the plot and characters too.

Another game was Dungeon Travelers 2 from a user in the Vita threads. I didn't expect this lewd Dungeon Crawler to be so damn good. Nice music, difficult, great level designs, enjoyable characters, combat with depth and many things to learn, replay value, and just damn fun. Can't wait for the next game.

I hope you weren't recommended a game you regret playing

Dragon's Dogma
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic

We'll see about Gothic if I ever get it running.

Forgot to mention Last Blade 2, Garou Mark of the Wolves, Vanguard Princess, and Arcana Heart 3 Love Max. 2 quality SNK fighters and 2 ecchi fighters that I've had tons of fun with friends.

DD:DA is still one of my favorite games despite all its flaws. I really hope we get another game that isn't a MMO or mobile shit.

Armored Core Nexus

Undertale.
All that harsh talk about it made me play it and I enjoyed it, and found Mettaton.
So thank you guys.

Warzone 2100
S.W.A.T 4
Deadbolt

All are good

I like arcade and simcade racing games. Recommend me one that isn't need for speed 2010 and Grid2

Literal faggot.

It's a buggy piece of shit, but still so fun. Great times were had

It was the best game I ever played

Dragon's Dogma, Morrowind, Dark Souls, and Mountain Blade are four of my favorite games of all time, and I discovered them through here.

I also ended up liking, DOOM 1 and 2, yes I hadn't played them before coming here, Bayonetta, DMC3/4, Saints Row 2, Oneechanbara, Shitran Kagaya, Danganronpa, Serious Sam, Metal Gear Rising, Thief gold/2, EYE, STALKER, FEAR, Fallout New Vegas, and Dark Messiah quite a bit. All of those were recommendations from here as well.

However, I did not end up liking Binary Domain, Sleeping Dogs, Republic Commando, Spec Ops: The Line, Wolfenstein 2014, MOOM DOOD, Witcher 1/2/3, and Timeshift very much.

And then there was the opposite where people on >>>Holla Forums told me a game was shit and they were wrong, which were Half Life 2, Fallout 4, yes I know why it's hated but post patch survival mode + mods + ignoring quests + turning off player voice acting and most of the HUD and only caring about settlement and weapon/armor upgrade autism makes for a very good game, Saints Row 1-4, and apparently Scam Citizen, what the fuck it actually has the open MMO universe and seamless FPS and ship flying gameplay now? I played it at my buddies house a couple days ago, before that I assumed it was fucked because that's what everyone on Holla Forums told me. It isn't amazing or anything and I don't think there's much of an economy, but what they do have so far seems pretty solid.

came here to post this, i had never even heard of God Hand (or the infamous IGN article) until Holla Forums told me about it and I can't believe I survived so long without it

...

...

Baulders Gate 2. After finishing it, it pretty much was going on by 3x3.

Dragon ball Xenoverse. That game was fun as fuck. That was a great call.

Terreria. I've never played a game like that. Spent a shit load of hours playing that one.

why?!

Brandish for PSP. I hadn't played many dungeon crawlers before that, and it was a fantastic introduction to the genre.

EYE, which I also convinced a friend to get so we could bro-op through it. It's a very wonky game with a lot of flaws, but a lot of the guns are satisfying and the level design is pretty interesting.

Rune Factory 4 had some great combat and exploration, and the farming elements were pretty chill, but the story was too anime for my taste. The dialogue in that fight goes on and on and fucking on, with all the cliche anime bullshit that I had been avoiding while playing the game itself.

If you like dungeon crawlers i'll suppose that you have already played The Dark Spire now ye?

not yet
i wanted to play it on an actual ds with an r4 but my ds broke and my r4 doesn't work on 3ds
i'll emulate soon, probably

None.
I'm always the motherfucker that comes here to recommend shit instead.

Always been that way since day one, i remember way back in the day when our small group started recommending PS:T to people that never played it before.
Then VTMB (i also recommended Redemption but it never catched on, to this day i still think it's a pretty decent RPG with a pretty good atmosphere, plus it has Cappadocians, my favorites).
Then we pushed MH when no one played it and people didn't know what the fuck it even was.
Then DeS came along and we pushed it and this wonderful community started to blossom initially.

I FUCKING DID IT ALL FOR YOU Holla Forums
I GAVE YOU ALL SO MUCH, ME AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE LONG SINCE LEFT THIS SHITHOLE
WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU GIVE BACK TO ME Holla Forums?
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING
NOTHING BUT BITCHING AND MOANING AND FUCKING IDIOTS CLINGING TO THE GAMES WE RECOMMENDED IN THE FIRST PLACE WITH NO ACTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHY THEY WERE GOOD
GODDAMN PARROTS PIECES OF SHIT
I GAVE YOU ALL SO MANY YEARS OF MY LIFE AND GOT FUCKING NOTHING IN RETURN
YOU DIDN'T DESERVE JACK SHIT

undertale when it was new

That's the point of this thread, to say thanks, you bitter, beautiful faggot.

Thanks dude.

You're still a faggot though.

Vanquish and EDF. I'm a massive TPS fan and those two scratched some itches I never knew I had.

I just wish I could play them with a M&KB because I'm not too good with a controller and I can't find a good setup to play with a M&KB on a console

Yakuza 1 was a blast, really enjoying Yakuza 2 at the moment, and I'm looking forward to trying out the later installments, though I heard there were issues with Yakuza 3 having a lot of cut content.
Haruka the cutest loli in existence.

Kerbal Space Program
Terraria
Pirates!
Sleeping Dogs
probably many others.

...

Mother 3

Onechanbara
Valkyria Chronicles
Neptunia
Dawn of War
Doom 1
One Way Heroics
Gurumin
100% Orange Juice
Risk of Rain
Ys Origin
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance

My Vita memory card just died and it took my DT2 save with it. I'm devastated. It was rad as fuck.

Estelle's game
I enjoy it, especially how random npcs get new dialogue as the game progresses. Not a lot of games does that.

Ghost Trick
Ys
slither.io

This. user also suggested me Earthbound, which I found extremely shit.
But man Mother 3 is really good

If you went backwards from 3 it probably felt clunky and not as tight. Earthbound is one of my favorite games, but I can't go back and play Mother and get very far.

I played the entire series backwards and had no problems, but that's just me

Europa Universalis 3

Got recommended Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts series by some anons years back and finally got to them recently. Wound up really fucking loving them, and have tried to do my part in getting more anons aware of both in turn.

Also Ghost Trick. I don't think I'd have considering looking into that game if anons hadn't been so vocal on how good it was, but I'm sure glad I did.

Probably going to start on Yakuza soon. Hopefully it's as fun as people have made it out to be.

EYE
Mount in Brade
SS13
BloodborneI don't own it or the ps4 I play it on
A few flavor of the month games, usually ones where the creator sold out
There's more I'm sure

This, a billion times

Slightly difficult to get into, but after I got into it on the third try I was thankful I did.

Mount & Blade
Evil Genius
Samurai Western
City Crisis
Disaster Report
Naval Ops
Some other Xbox shovelware that was actually good

Risk of Rain. This game is great

How is Samurai Western anyhow?

Way of the Samurai 2 in a old cinema-based wild west town
Waves of enemies with guns and basically running and chopping people in half like you were in Dynasty Warriors
Pretty decent but the game still doesn't do justice to its badass cover art
A 6/10 if you manage to find it cheap

What I liked a lot: Classic Doom in general, Freedom Fighters, Republic Commando, Hitman 2, Chaos Theory, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, HL: Opposing Force, Metro 2033, Ikaruga, FEAR
What I didn't like/not really my thing: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, TTYD and Muramasa (I think I discovered that I just don't really mix with JRPG's, going to try some more on PS1 before I can conclude that), the Half Life series except for Opposing Force, classic Thief, classic 3d realms fps games (going to try them again some time)

Way of the Samurai 4
Senran Kagura
Rune Factory 4
Dodonpachi
Ar Tonelico 2 beta translation (now on 4)
Kamidori Alchemy Meister

I'm sorry all of those anons failed you. But I thank you for bringing Demon's Souls to my attention. I really enjoyed that game.

Holla Forums also recommended me some good anime and manga too. Biomega is great and so was Blame. Also Z Gundam.

Atelier
Valkyria Chronicles
Dragon's Dogma
Etrian Odyssey
VTMB
Dark Messiah
Gravity Rush
Muramasa/Vanillaware in general

I've liked most of the stuff I picked up on Holla Forums's advice. The only time I can think of that I just haven't been able to get into a game I picked up from here was the Witcher.

Bump

I really enjoyed it for its amazing selection of weapons, cyber gizmos and psy powers. it's memetic status probably helps me enjoy the game as well. What I also like is the wide levels they give out, sometimes too wide yet it gives a sense of non-linearity in each mission, kinda like Deus Ex
If it isn't for Holla Forums, this game will probably receive one less player i wished I could've coop with you fags ;-;

Man this game really surpises me on the atmosphere, the only thing that could beat this is probably F.E.A.R, the gunplay is nice if you set it to master, with bullet not being hitscan and you have to really aim and hope it hits, unfortunately the pistols were abit left underused in this regard F.E.A.R gunplay is still the best though
What's cute is that Holla Forums and /k/ really like this vidya, go to /k/'s vidya thread and you will see /k/ommandos playing this game as much feeding their funs. This game also has an active modding scene, yet I have not yet installed a single mod (finishing the whole trilogy first)

It's really good, customization options on your commander, Honor guards, risk styled campaign, etc, too bad the path finding AI is garbage. I wasn't familiar on WH40k lore at first but playing this game really makes me interested on the lore, I haven't heard anyone recommending me the sequel though, should I play it?
Also probably looking forward to Space Hulk: Deathwing not DoW III

Bump

I was gonna play Undertale anyways but you guys convinced me to actually do the Genocide route instead of skipping it.
Fucking thanks, you guys. It was some of the coolest shit I've played in a long time and made up for the awfulness of the Pacifist routes.

Undertale.

The hate here for it is nothing but a meme. Plus not playing something just because you disagree with other who play the game is literally being just like the SJWs. "Oh no there is porn for the game", Oh yeah like you faggots don't have tons of porn for the games you play plastered all over this site. Nope you do, but you only complain because its UNDERTALE AHHH OH NOESSSS. Stupid. "BuT SJWs PLAY IT AN LIKE IT" "THE SJWs LOVE THIS GAME BECAUSE IT PANDERS TO THEMMMM", No, no, and no, its simply not true, these people have just taken something innocent and corrupted it to fit their world view. This game DOES NOT, I repeart DOES NOT pander to SJWs, AT ALL. They just took simple things from the game and turned it into their world view. The player character is of an unknown gender, OMG, OMG so major, I have to hate this game now. No thats idiotic, its the SJWs who sit around harping on gender, its literally 2016 I dont give a shit about gender. OH NOW the characters can enter homosexual relationships !!! Seriously, where are we on Holla Forums or on that nazi hugbox Holla Forums ? I don t FUCKING care about homo's, it literally doesnt matter at all. Its just your sexuality who the hell FLIPPING cares you idiots, when you hate something just because you dont like a few things about it, or because you "disagree with it" you are literally like the SJWs. This game is cute, fun, and thought provoking. It breaks the boundaries for what a game can be and makes us question games in general why asking things NO OTHER GAME has EVER asked before. If this game just got its name changed and was repackaged as something else without knowledge of its fan base Holla Forums would be praising it, but because some IDIOT saw some silly shit on Tumblr now they think this game is trash. Its stupid and you are denying yourself one of the finest gaming experiences I have had in my entire life.

OH NOESSSS !!! I PLAY UNDERTALE Holla Forums, AM I A CUCK SJW CUCK CUCK CUCK, stupid ass Holla Forums tainting our video game experiences.

nice bait

Prototype
Ghost Trick
Crysis
Dragons Dogma
STALKER and Metro
Totally worth it.

I played Undertale the first week it came out.

I hadn't heard of it, but I had seen the "goatmom" posted a few times. From what I could tell it had a small group of people excited for a comfy/cute RPG and almost no hate for it.

I played and beat it in a few days, I enjoyed the threads we had here and the game was a fun ride. But once I finished it, there was nothing else to talk about. The ensuing shitstorm of people getting angry about people talking about the game and people continuing to shitpost porn in the threads killed it.

There's really nothing to talk about once you complete the game, however. It's a pretty good game. Gave me 8 hours of enjoyment and that's all I wanted. It's not worth all the hype around it but nothing ever is.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

At first I though it was some gay vampire shit for Twilight fags. Faggots kept making threads about it, so I decided to try it out myself.
But holy shit, the dialogues, the lore, the music, the fucking atmosphere… I got hooked.
Eight years later, I'm still playing and enjoying every last minute of it.

Thanks Holla Forums, you fucking faggots.

I got sold on graviteam tactics and then found out about the tank sim on the same engine that NEVER EVER goes on special
but tactics is on sale for 5 maple bux right now

Every game recommended to me from Holla Forums, I have already played.

Though one user introduced to me fun lego app once. I still mess around with it from time to time.

I guess Wurm, sorta. Unfortunately nobody wants to buy Unlimited and the pirate server is NoFunAllowed and dead, so there's no real reason to do anything on there unless you think it's comfy to just play with anons.

Fucking flag I turned you off twice now fuck off

Deus Ex, Dragon's Dogma, Chibi-Robo, Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1+2, Ghost Trick, Hotel Dusk, Endless Space and Endless Legend, Soul Sacrifice, Ico, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Ys series, Drill Dozer, Final Fantasy Tactics, VTMB, Mount and Blade, and plenty more I can't think of at the moment.

I always look forward to game recommendation threads because I know there is going to be something I'll like.

Path of Exile

Started to play today, going for a Crit Arc Witch

It's actually a lot of fun very early in the game already.

I'm following this guide
thehealthygamer.com/2016/02/25/path-of-exile-new-player-guide-ascendancy-patch-2-2/

Even though the website looks funny, google gave me this when looking for "poe ascendancy guide" and it's actually solid, as far as I can tell so far.

It's like playing a D2 charged bolt in the beginning, and will branch into chain lightning later.

Don't except to easily get people to talk to or help or trade, though : the community seems to be autistic.

QUICK Holla Forums
RECCOMEND ME A GOOD RPG I NEED ONE TO SCRATCH MY ITCH
also bonus points if it's newer I played the DS version of FF3 and while graphics aren't everything i want something that looks a bit better and isn't a top down
Please and thank you
Also if there's a fist fighting / monk class in it I'll kiss you on the cheek

Most SMT games should cover that for you.

You can build your characters to use physical skills that hit like a truck.

Start off with Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga, see if you can get around the demon fusion well. I found DDS to be more beginner friendly and it also removed the fusion aspect.

I try to push Wild Arms (especially 3) whenever I get the chance. I'm glad that it's working.

If it wasn't for Holla Forums, EYE would have probably rotted in my library.

I probably would've never played this if Holla Forums didn't talk about it so much.

This too.

Well, I'm not sure if it was you that recommended them (it was at least a few years ago I took note of them to play in the future, courtesy of some anons on /vg/ having brought them up), but yeah. They're great games, enough so that I've taken the time to make some stuff to try to raise awareness for them here.

Not exactly class driven, but Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant have one of the main characters as a brawler that uses fists and feet for regular melee attacks, and if that's not enough, can shapeshift into numerous monsters for stat boosts and elemental magics.

Okami - became one of my favourite games ever.

MegaTen metaseries - fucking adore SMT 3, Strange Journey, the Raidou games, DDS and Persona. Really loved SMT IV. Though I heard it was… divisive among more hardcore SMT fans? I'm going to get Final/Apocalypse too.

Dragon's Dogma - At first I was iffy when I saw the trailers, then I saw people playing it, and I got it a small while after it was first released. Got upwards of 100 hours playing it before Dark Arisen was released, and then that was another 300.

VTMB - I've never really liked western RPGs, and despite its infuriating sections (those sewers man), I loved this game. The atmosphere, dialogue, facial expressions, situations (fucking Gimble), won me.

Fucking Yakuza. I can't thank Holla Forums enough for that. One of my favourite series hands down. Ace Combat too.

Actually, there's a shitton I could post. Demons' Souls, Dark Souls, Bayonetta, DMC3/4, Senran Kagura, Dangan Ronpa, MGR, Sleeping Dogs, Ys games, Monster Hunter, Trails games, Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright, Wild Arms, Shadow Hearts, Valkyria Chronicles, Etrian Odyssey, Vanillaware in general. Catherine was recommended and loved as well.

I actually played the IZJS version of FFXII because of Holla Forums. Became my favourite FF.

There are so much, mostly Japanese games though. If I never came to Holla Forums I'd still be playing Call of Duty and Need for Speed.

7th Dragon III comes out next month. But if you want something to play now that's easy to emulate. There's Dragon Quest 3 for the SNES and Dragon Quest 5 for the DS. Both fantastic games.

Funny enough, 3 starts you off with a cool personality test. Your personality determines your stat growths and it will change through out the game depending on your actions both in and out of combat. I was considered worldly because I would always talk to every NPC. My priest was stubborn because he wasn't use much MP. My fem fighter was couragous though which made her a massive tank. My sage somehow became a bully. Must've been watching too much slice of life.

Play DQ5 if you want to cry bitch tears and feel like a good father.

I sure hope you got the best ending, user.

Dragon's Dogma for fightan with your qt partner.
The Crew for late night cruising.
Diablo 3 for mindless button clicking while watching tv/movies.
