Organization in US

Why are we so sectarian? Split here expulsion there. How can we fix this?

because some people are more equal than others - and they want to be in charge of something.

why are like 90% of them trotskyists?

Are you an actual Muslim?

COINTELPRO probably had a lot to do with it. But also the fact that after Keynsianism was in full swing conditions were good enough that the socialist movement totally ran out of steam. As a result the commies who were left were all autistic fringe people (like us) who split over stupid shit and didn't have much incentives to stay together anyway since they were totally inept.

Because the purpose of the chart seems to be tracking the history of Trotskyist organizations in the US.

The Keynesian system was never "in full swing", him being British and rising anti-communist sentiment meant he never got the influence he probably should have had over the Breton Woods architecture.

Where's this image from?

funnyjunk

...

This is quite true. By design the IMF and the World Bank were to function entirely apart from their current manifestations.

Integral to the Breton woods system was the Bancor unit, intended as a method to ensure long term international balance of payments globally.

This was vetoed by the Americans who (for obvious reasons) favoured the use of a 'gold-backed' USD as a global reserve currency.

Because the only thing Trots are good for is a punchline.

don't worry op, when the revolution comes we will all be united as "left"

I wonder what would have happened if all of Keynes' proposals had got implemented after ww2.

Lmao

Yeah I've noticed this. Australian socialist parties can barely keep themselves together. Marx and Bakunin couldn't get along. This board tears itself to pieces with secretarian threads.

Maybe right wing people arr easier to control. Like they tend to think along the lines of memes (first feudalism is the only system that works, then capitalism, now muh traditionalism must make a return) and not critically engage with the material. They tend to follow the leader because they are convincing.

Maybe leftists have some sort of aggressive, know it all tendencies that make it difficult to change their minds when they come across opposing viewpoints. You can see this in small communities like tumblr or here where you have a dominant narrative about what something or how it should be and 99% of discussions just involve going back and forth on certain issues.

Or maybe certain leftist ideas are so good that the only things that can come after are thin facismiles that nut out the nitty gritty and not much else. When they aren't taken seriously the organisations split up and create their own movement.

Maybe the leaders of these organisations realise they can actually benefit from being the head honcho and they start to get catty with one another. Rather than stick together they take their followers and go elsewhere.

In my experience leftists are more dogmatic and elitist than right wingers. ironic really.

The book you want to read on the subject is by Benn Steil. Basically America took the chance to destroy and bankrupt the British Empire to remove a potential rival.

because nobody can ever agree on anything ever tbh.

b/c communists think the tiniest ideas against their specific programme will ruin everything else.

also the people involved are usually annoying poor people who don't get along well and don't have enough money not to care.

also when your 'organization' has like 100 members and 0 funds, splitting off with a group of 25 or w/e seems important and doable, and not a big deal, whereas splitting off of a major bourgeois organization you lose thousands of members and millions in funding to have your stupid purity.

Fucking Khrushchev m8
The secret speech caused many splits all around the world, and killed many possible/ongoing revolutions(various South American countries as an example), and openned way for all kinds of humanists/anarkidies/trots to spread their revisionim/idealism.
