that looks pretty good actually

Unlike many on this board, I have no problem with Trots and think most are pretty cool people, but this film looks like le quirky hipster reddit tier cancer.

I've seen it, its pretty funny. Not a great film, but worth the time to watch it. The film is not about trots, its about someone (who is probably schizophrenic) who believes he is the reincarnation of leon trotsky and must do literally everything leon trotsky ever did.

It has very little i would describe as hipster reddit stuff, the director just wanted to make a film about the political zeal of young people and the frustration they face when nobody takes them seriously because of their age.

Most people here don't really understand what Trotskyism even really is (and how it is compares to Trotsky himself).

It's quite good, actually. It almost makes me forget how Trotskyists are the most shitty and destructive leftist group to the communist movement. This is probably because it involves almost no Trotskyism whatsoever, but instead just tropes about Trotsky and communist stereotypes. Very recommendable film and far from hipster-tier.

The Trotsky was pretty cool.

...

You should've added hard mode: no meme movies.

The source of the WEBM, Rampage 2: Capitol Punishment, is pretty cool if you're into that kind of edgy stuff.

How can we if Trots can't even agree what it is and will split over anything?

I'm looking forward for a film by Andrej Končalovskij about Dubček, I hope he won't fuck it up

Why are so many stalinists fans of zizek?

Land and freedom is a classic.

The Trotsky wasnt really funny at all and had very little to do with communism.

this movie is basically about you guys
they even chant 'revisionist! revisionist!' to disrupt another guy's speech

...

Because he's sane leftist. Zizek understand crushed dreams of people in post-soviet countries, and give us hope that we can recreate socialist republic, but not as horrifying police-state which claims everyone is free, but in reality everyone is secretly watched.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm full Stalinist, I never red his book, and I disagree with some of his policies which could bring me to gulag if he was in power

Because Zizek is an unapologetic authoritarian who mocks bourgeois democracy and despises political correctness.

he's all for socialism with human face

...

...

It's a series created by a libertarian socialist. What's the problem? Just like 1984, it's not his fault that a bunch of 14 year olds latched on to his work for their meme issues.

there's a lot of lefty japanese artists

shame that most people there are center right/reactionary

I don't understand your point, are you sure you posted right webm?

This one is one of my favorites.

What's so bad about trotskyism?

Their strategy internalizes fruitless activism and they all, without exception, end up socdems or in rare occasions even neocons.

Libertarias made Durruti out to be like Cipriano Mera. In reality Durruti was probably the strongest voice against militarisation because he was both a staunch anarchist and hugely popular. After he died pretty much every group or party tried to claim that he was going over to their side, and the movie makes it out like that was really true. There was a "second death of Durruti" where the real person was obscured in favour of an image based in and used for propaganda and this movie perpetuates that.

…so they're the "most shitty and destructive leftist group" because they engage in activism.

I don't think you understand what is meant by activism in this context fam.
