How is it on PC, hardware and software compatibility is likely more complex vs console, but MN-5.6 is a megaclone platformer. In fact, the controversy around this game is what you can blame for its constant delays. Keiji, himself, thought that getting the feminists on board would raise more money after he saw how loud they were and how "successful" publications like Polygon had become. In short, it was a mistake that cost him so much time and energy. After speaking to one of the employees, through a mutual friend, no one was happy with the outcome of this game.

The thing is, for a classic Megaman game, Excel wouldn't be half bad for designing the basic parts of a level, However, the Dashing Mechanic completely destroyed this because the blocky level design removes any flow to the dash and the Dash removes any challenges from pits.
See the Megaman X games, how many of them had pitfalls as a prominent part of the level? Usually pitfalls (and spikes) were an addition to large groups of enemies to test the player on their understanding of the enemy types. There was very little along the lines of Heatman's or Gutsman's stage.
They wanted to make a classic Megaman game but with Megaman X's movement without thinking how the two contradict each other.

For level design (or even bosses) all they needed to do is play some damn Megaman X and Zero games and analyse it. The more I see Mighty Number 9, the more I feel that this game just did fuck all research into what they're doing.
