While freedom of speech is an important tool for these boards, there is such a thing as board culture. I would not go on /k/ and spam CLIPS CLIPS CLIPS or /m/ and talk about the latest releases of Katy Perry. EA games, for example, on Holla Forums falls under this concept.

EA have destroyed plenty of titles and studios, but let us take the most recent example of their utter shitness. Battlefield Hardline & Titanfall. Both of these games did not even manage to get off the ground [1]. Star Wars Battlefront (2015) is already on sale on Origin for $20 and is loosing players faster than Evolve did [2].

While some games can have redeeming qualities, EA Games post 2004-2006 is regarded as absolute trash around these boards. Continuing to support a publisher this bad is not only bad for you, but bad for all of the community as they will keep releasing more trash.

Not to mention currently as the industry is designed around HYPE and PRE-ORDERS, talking about video games that aren't released can be considered in poor tastes. Again, the only reason why Star Wars Battlefront (2015) was a success, financially, was because of pre-orders [3] .

We can talk about the game post release (and preferably with magnet link to cracked game), where we can then talk about how well the game was designed and/or produced. But considering it is EA and DICE, I would not hold my breath.

DICE wanted to make BF4 with LESS things.
WWI is just an excuse for low standards just like Hardline.
The game already looks WWII, they could go for steam/dieselpunk setting but this would require creativity that lacks in most EA minions.
It will be abandoned like Hardline and Battlefront because of low amount of content.

As you see I'm not even talking about gross historical inaccuracies when critiquing BF1.

I assume this comes as a surprise to you but there is such a thing as cracked multiplayer servers. It is a huge thing with Valve games, TF, CS, L4D, etc. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still being played today due to community servers allowing cracked games to play.

And yes, playing Single Player is a valid choice as well. If you believe Multiplayer to be everything, then why not play a game that has actual players, like Battlefield 3 or 4. Unlike, the 3 titles I listed in my post that you glossed over.

The extreme loss of player base, the constant yearly releases (hell one might say Star Wars Battlefront was just a theme change, same old engine and thus EA had 2 battlefronts in 1 year) and poor quality support post release of their games.

What merits does BF1 have? What makes it not BF4 with a WW1 skin? What have they improved since the days of BF 1942 apart from the destruction? The only thing that comes to mind is the addition of (extremely simplistic) component damage to vehicles now, something most games have had for ages.

Why is France not playing a bigger role in this game? France's military doctrine was the closest thing what we would later see in WW2 at the time. It would make the most sense to use them as a main faction in a "fast" light alt-history WW1 game.

It suffers from bugs,lags,shit hit-detection but overall it's a far better game than BF1 will ever be.It's historically accurate,full of guns and they aren't laser precise as the ones in every BF.There are multiple faction with multiple roles.

It's not much teamplay focused for what i remember since the main scope is to reach and hold the enemy trench or defend it,there is really not much open room for tactics beside decide where to use the artillery and where to use the gas.
