Obviously there's a real difference in beliefs between people who believe feminism can be associated with the right and people who believe it can't, that's what the argument really seems to be about.

I never said feminism couldn't be associated with the right. There mere fact that someone has to qualify it as "right wing feminism" however acknowledges that it's generally considered left. Go ahead and ask people if they think feminism is more left than right and you're the former is generally going to be affirmed.

But even from your first post, you brought up feminism in a thread that refers specifically to leftist ideologies, and the discussion with the other user started by him responding to you and saying right wing feminism exists.

It shows that for feminism to be left wing is a given for one person, but another person sees it as both left and right. And I guess you're still making the point now that it's typically left wing.

And I also pointed out that right-wing socialists exist too. Just look at the NazBols on this board who are decidedly mroe right-wing when it comes to issues of niggers. Yet it is still included in the poll.

But this can just lead to another real, non-philological disagreement about whether it's possible to be a right-wing socialist, whether right or left is mostly determined by economics or if it's more abstract and so on.

The main point is that it's not just semantics, but the way you actually see things. There are lolberts who probably genuinely believe that Hitler was a lefty, not just that Hitler's policies can have the name left-wing applied to them without all the associations that carries over.

When I said "at this point we're arguing semantics" I was meaning more about oxymorons, because when we look at examples of oxymorons it doesn't really tell us the essence of an oxymoron, what an oxymoron truly is, what makes all oxymorons oxymorons, and thus certainly it cannot tell us whether the next set of meanings is or isn't an oxymoron.

Now I don't get what you're saying. Left and right are hard to define, because the concepts started out as where people sat, but I'd assume that feminism is left wing.

I just mean that it was quick to say "right-wing feminism" isn't an oxymoron just because it merely exists, or whatever their reasoning, almost as if that were the natural state of feminism (admittedly, feminists are usually quite reactionary; generally the concept of muh muh privilege is reactionary without primacy of class/material analysis)

Why should we care about what people in general perceive as 'left' or not? Communists don't care about this petty categorization. What communists care about is the left that explicitly utilizes the term 'communist' and associates itself with it despite not showing any communism in practice, rhetoric or even character. This is the case with MLs, whom are either busy defending 20th century social democracies without the democracy, or advocating for social democracy without democracy, all while using the moniker of 'communist'.
