3DS version, portability is always more comfy, plus it got Smash Run while WiiU didn't When you get past the nostalgia Melee becomes just a faster version of the 3DS version with less characters and stages

i spent playing Smash 4 as my first Smash game on 3DS with focus on understanding how smash works as a fighting game and im coming from traditional fighting games.
its been less than a week and im kind of having a blast
i dont know if im playing it properly by now but currently i shamefully have a 5-50 online record with 1/4 of the losses killing myself because of lag
i main cloud because he looks kind of beginner friendly
dont hate, i dont know who to pick at first. Ryu seems okay but im trying to play Smash

I thought that too, but a wake-up DP has more frames of invincibility and a longer-lasting hitbox. A shine would win if you could clank with a wake-up DP and negate the only hitbox, but I think both Ryu and Ken's DPs in SFV have multiple hitboxes, so that might beat shines out.

Although, now that I think about it, shines could just be multishined and timed perfectly (it is 20XX after all) to clank with each hitbox of a wake-up DP. So shines would probably win if Westballz or Leffen were playing, but a single shine would lose.

Honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised - I don't think I've ever really seen traditional fighting game players try to cross over to any Smash. Thanks for giving it a shot; what made you decide to try it? I wish I could give you Cloud advice, but I know nothing about tr4sh's metagame, so the best I can say is to watch Mew2King gameplay or something.

Ah, sorry to hear that. I hope you don't end up breaking your circle pad for tr4sh 3DS, but if you're still having trouble with CPUs then that doesn't seem like it'll be an issue.

Smash is a fighting game that controls like a platformer (or a platformer which mahchildren call a fighting game, whichever), and accordingly you'll need to think of it differently compared to anything traditional like SF or even crazier anime fighters. Movement is at least as important as knowing attacks and frame data, if not more.

Vid related is some footage of Chris G doing decently at a tr4sh tournament last year. I don't think he's played a lot of tr4sh in total, but he is a high-profile FGC player who made the jump, even if only temporarily.

He first played Smash low key before going big in the FGC, so it makes sense that he'd adapt well.

I havn't had the chance to add the audio stuff I wanted, but I havn't touched it in like 2 weeks so meh.

there are some known issues that are small like yoshi can't jump out of shield, and ness's PK thunder stops when he gets hit, but I can't figure out how to fix yoshi's problem since I'm using all of the codes and correct files, and using Ness's code makes the screen fuckup.

if there end up being any actual major issues I can try to fix it, however I'm still retarded and will take a fuckload of time doing so.

also fun fact for people, you can change textures and stuff in melee and still not desynch as long as you don't fuck up. so if you want your own yoshistory or battlefield or any costume on a character you can do that.
