We've got an active time battle where enemies change positions. These changes are really important as techniques will allow you to hit multiple opponents depending on where they're at. There are team attacks like X Strike. There's a technique system that really reminds me of Materia. You can find techniques on the ground or buy them from stores There's a Limit breaker style gauge that fills up if you DON'T attack when it's your turn that gives you great stat boosts or that you can use for massive attacks. The in game artwork reminds me of a the chibi style of Bravely default Which was taken from the DS version of FF3 and the environments look great. I think the story will be absolutely heartbreaking and I look forward to buying it on either PS4 Which I might get soon or Steam.

The position changing etc reminds me a lot of Trails in the Sky/Trails of Cold Steel. Where you can move around in battle. Has advantages and disadvantages. Like you can be clumped up together, and get AOE healed, but attacks that do AOE will hit everyone too.

I've been around guns a decent amount of my life. My dad used to hunt pheasant when he was a kid on his farm. He taught me how to use a shotgun. We took a class on handguns together when we got interested in owning one. We have just a 9mm and a .22, and they are loads of fun to shoot.

Honestly, if a few people are on the fence about guns, I think they'd benefit from just taking a basic class. They'd be surprised how seriously gun-owners take safety.

One rarely mentioned reason of why replaceable magazines has been adopted and considered proven tech, is that a firearm is a machine with moving parts, which can malfunction. Being able to fix a type of malfunction by removing a magazine, clear any round left in the chamber, insert another mag then tap rack or smack and make it function again. Is a huge improvement over oh shit my firearm is jammed, it's now a melee weapon until I can sit down and fix it or get it to someone who can. Mechanical jams do not discriminate, they can happen to anyone, bad guys and good guys alike.
TL;DR: it's roughly similar to having a portable vidya system with removable battery pack vs built in battery. Even if that battery still has juice but for whatever reason becomes non functional, a swappable one is easier to get working again vs the system you have to open up the backplate with a screwdriver to replace the the internal battery pack.

I personally do not own any firearms, though I have used them and would like one of my own. I didn't think airsoft since I was imagining having no real projectile mechanism for standard teaching purposes. In essence, it'd be built like a toy or light gun, perhaps buzzing or lighting up if you handle it wrong. Something like one or two per classroom to have the teacher show the way before each student tries. Any advance courses like cleaning or whatever can have the airsoft-style infrastructure, but they could be elective courses. Again, have to end zero tolerance on school grounds first.

Having videos of gun safety's probably easier to implement first and foremost before more detailed teacher explanation. It's not like I didn't experience tons of both during driver's ed, home ec, shop, and all.Hell, my school had a blast furnace for metallurgy and we had to be all prepped like a week before suiting up to pour molten aluminum.

They study first with videos and mild history, then move on to props to better understand safety mechanisms and where and when to point a firearm. It would be the most difficult step, because if the students fuck around and hit something their not supposed to, it's an immediate fail.

My dad is from that era. Lived in a small farm town up in South Dakota. His highschool had shooting clubs, and even the college he went to in the late 60s. He was ROTC though, so he didn't join the other clubs.

I had shop in middleschool with all sorts of tools, and metalsmithing/jewelry in highschool. Took another metals class as an elective in college.

My school's drivers ed didn't let you step one foot in an actual car anymore due to "budget cuts." So I had to spend a few days a week that semester learning worthless shit about driving that I already knew.
The unfortunate thing here is that I don't even have a drivers license - I never bothered to take the test because I cannot justify a full car insurance payment, and it wouldn't be worth the effort to pay those expenses for a privilege I would only use on occasion. Public transportation is decent here and parking on-campus is expensive. I would really only use a car when I want to leave town, which isn't terribly often (though when I do it sucks because I've gotta find a ride).

Shop classes were cool as fuck.
The school district here was trying to get rid of them. I went to my fair share of schoolboard meetings to save them because kids need to be exposed to things other than core classes. Getting kids ready for college is important, but not every kid has to (nor should) go. Exposing students to the trades can help people find their calling in life and make them more useful around the house even if they don't pursue it as a career.

Alex cut down Season 2 since it was supposed to go on and end with the reveal of Ford with the rest part of Season 3. The story goes that there would have been more monster-of-the-week episodes and more build-up to the ending 3-parter that was trimmed due to feeling mostly filler. Still doesn't account for the rush-job feel of that 3-part ending.

Some cartoons, particularly as of late, seem to be going somewhere in-between, in which episodes are still standalones, but sometimes can have overarching plots that carry over throughout seasons.

That said, I'm REALLY hoping that animation styles in American cartoons diversify again at some point.

It has been for me. I've pretty much cut down to internet only myself and convinced my parents to drop a bunch of the channels they pay for. They really only used the basic channels, HBO, and sometimes the on-demand channels.

Netflix did come out with a Voltron reboot. Haven't heard much about it though. Since Netflix releases shows by the season and movies don't really need a rating anymore, it really helps creators with stories that may not necessarily work on cable tv or in the movie theater.

I've been especially happy with it, as I've found a bunch of stuff I wouldn't have watched before and really enjoyed them.

The only decent cartoon that seems to be on the air is Gumball, and that is because it makes fun of a lot of people for being oversensitive and having that "everyone is a winner attitude."

Things changed in high school because we did EVERYTHING with graphing calculators. We weren't actually taught math, just how to solve problems with calculators. Even in the "advanced" classes.That's when I stopped caring about math. It no longer was interesting to me.
So when I got to college math classes I was screwed. I did okay for a time, but real life came up and grades started to tank. I was even forced to change majors because of it.
I'm taking Calc 2 again next semester. I failed it the first time because I didn't do enough of the homework.
I don't even need to take it, my new major doesn't require it, though skipping out on it would be a mistake if I ever want to further my education, and the fact is I want to take it. There's no reason why I can't get a good grade in that class, and if I don't I'll just be letting myself down.

To tell the truth, if I had more than 4 semesters left, I'd probably shoot for a math minor just to say I could do it. I still might try, but it means I'd have to double up on upper-tier classes two semesters in a row, and that's going to be fucking brutal.

user, I've LIVED in despair since I turned 16 and learned even worse about how people could be or how something like faith could be abused to manipulate truly good people. My family was nearly torn apart because of that. I always thought humanity would destroy itself in the end with every horrible thing I've read throughout history and darkly humorous shows I've seen, but not as horribly or stupidly as this.

I dread going to see my cousins now living up in Michigan for a few days because I can't be who I once was. There's so many horrible things they don't know about while they just worry about friends and holding a job. They're normalfags and I'm not. My heart's taken a rake after learning that not only did they and my aunt move out of their old home because it was falling apart,but she even separated from my uncle. I always thought of them like a sitcom couple. They sometimes they acted like they got on each other's nerves, but still cared about each other deep down. Them, that house and what they all represented was apart of my fucking childhood and a large majority of my life. I played so many games I might never have experienced otherwise. I ate so many great homecooked meals or cookouts in a beautiful wide backyard in a beautiful neighborhood I enjoyed so many hours of just actually playing outside and laughing with my cousins and my brother. I remember walking through a community that was so peaceful and comfy you could leave your front door open all night with a plasma screen and a Wii with Super Smash Bros Brawl rented in the front room and nothing bad would happen. There was a library all the way down the alley where I remember my aunt renting Pokemon The Movie 2000. Near it was a store that sold candy sticks that looked like cigarettes. I first played all 3 games there at different periods of my life and each time was an experience that stuck with me forever. They made the adventures of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu in Kanto along with Pokemon Snap some of my most treasured memories. No matter what shit was going on back in Lima or the rest of the world because of terrorism or tyrants, none of it ever seemed to touch Delta. It was a place of pure happiness that I couldn't wait to return to and see them and everything again. And all my life it was there just waiting for me to take refuge in even when my brother drifted away from family for his friends who knew of the kind of shit we both did.

All of that is fucking gone. And all I can do is pathetically lie to myself that things will go back to the way they were.

I was getting math over with in grade 11. It no longer challenged me, and even though I did get low grades, I still did pretty damn well. Then again, that was all of school. And I sought animation, but was hit with what may have been anxiety and a little performance jitters at the end of my college.

My schooling during childhood? It was shit. My best friend got bullied off school and for the first year or so in elementary (middle-school for you amerifags), I was a really douchey and violent kid. After I toned down my behaviour, I got bullied but things got real bad during High School (grade 7 and 8 for you amerifags, again.).

It's a dreary tale of high expectations, bullying and fuck-ups.

The house I lived in was pretty fucking messy and we have money troubles because my mother doesn't understand the concept of restraint.

You know, when you get invited to other people's houses, and they apologized for messiness. I fucking wish I could have lived in their "messy" houses. The worst I've ever seen was far better than mine. Not as bad as you see on TV, but still terrible.

I couldn't have many friends come to my house growing up. When they did come, shit just got shoved in closets - then forgotten.

In addition, my mother spends far too much time with wealthy people and spends money like she has it because it's how her father behaved, even though his death left my grandmother in crippling debt causing her to inevitably lose her home through bankruptcy.
Not only does this require above-average spending, but the type of wealthy people she spends time with are the absolute scum of the earth. Most are gold-diggers, adulterers, and daddy's money types that will never know what it's like to have your debit declined because you're run out of cash. They've never had a fucking reality check. My mother does not realize this because she is arguably the worst judge of character I have ever met.
But this is how she was raised: To measure her worth against other people, and those who they are "friends" with. More money = more better.
Subsequently, she expects far too much of my father (who has a decidedly middle-class income), and obviously this sort of thing puts a strain on their relationship.
Many times growing up, I've considered if my parents divorcing would be better. I've long since thought it would be.
Living here fucking blows. But it's free, so I put up with it.

Because of these things, I've never been in a relationship with a woman. I can't say I've ever wanted to be. Not if it's like this. But that was fine, I hung out with other outcasts in HS who didn't date, either. But now, it's hard. My friends are also in college now. They have relationships. They have good sex. They are happy.
And you know what? I fucking hate being alone.

Since it's father's day today, in case any of you want to buy your dad something like say a button shirt, here's my 2 cents. Don't buy short sleeved button shirts.
