I'm not against diversity in media. I think it's totally fine to have gay characters or racially diverse characters in a story (trannies and special snowflakes who sexually identify as attack helicopters are a different story, but let's not go on a tangent here)

There are two huge problems with "diversity" as it is being pushed in media right now, however, that turns it into a huge red flag.

1. Adding it when it's fucking stupid to add it. You don't have a fucking openly gay character in the middle ages if you're going for anything resembling the real middle ages. You don't make the ancient Egyptians black. You don't fucking defy reality in an effort to be diverse. It's immersion breaking, and stretching the audience's suspension of disbelief for any reason that does not serve the plot is ALWAYS a bad idea, no matter what those reasons are.

2. When a work starts focusing on "diversity", there is almost always a drop in quality. This isn't an ironclad rule or anything, it's just simple pattern recognition. People with gender studies and racial studies degrees tend to be shit at other things, like, for example, making games.

You want to be diverse? Just do it. Don't draw attention to it or virtue signal about it, and use it appropriately and not in excess. Is that really so hard to do?

Go back to your Gender Studies/tumblr. Every notable pre-modern society acceptably investigated for faggotry did the following when it came to faggotry:

1. It was "tolerated" under the assumption that the fags and/or dykes would know their place while still fulfilling their obligations to society. A Greek man who wasn't a slave would be expected to get a wife and produce offspring. Even in Nigger Africa a Nigger woman would have been expected to get a male to have their children even if a dyke.
