We -know- that our thoughts are just things in our head. We often do not experience them that way. Thoughts are supposed to enable becoming, not supercede it. We engage in mental time travel into the past and dwell on failures, lost opportunities, and tragedy, playing them out as narrated videos in our heads, reacting to the emotionally if they were real. When we cannot break free these become loops of sorrow and regret, we play them over and over again and they become burned into our minds as mental habits. We engage in mental time travel into the future and dwell on expectations, very often negative as we evolved to anticipate danger in the extremely dangerous world before civilization. Many of these dangers do not exist to the degrees they once did, yet our evolutionary biases remain. The brain has neuroplasticity and awareness, we can condition ourselves to be aware of these illusory fears and push them out of our minds, creating new mental habits. These future-loops of negative anticipation create fear and anxiety that can become loops that paralyze us, or distort our very view of reality. They also create loops of wanting to have and wanting to appear, the endless striving for the Next Pringles.

When you are focusing on being, the past and future do not exist. You quiet your thoughts and experience only the present constant moment: of being, and change around that. Your breath and body rhythms, the movement of your body, sounds and movement around you. The "doing" mode is one you are used to: the temporal narrative in your head, being focused on past, present, and elsewhere, the moment changes and being is just a static temporal structure - a timeline- that the moment moves in. These are two different reference frames of being and time, both are absolutely vital and must be balanced, but doing has devoured being and cultural capitalism is the result.

The real whatness of capitalism is that it is bad mental habits that were once beneficial but have become viral and parasitic, subverting the agency and mental wellbeing of people. That's the concrete shit. These bad habits turn into bad behavioral habits and create and perpetuate the emergent social structures we see around us. Even Porky is subverted by this conspiracy of bad mental habits.

I hope that I have made my case for how cultivating mindfulness and practicing mindfulness meditation isn't woo, it isn't some wishy-washy bullshit, but the real deal and truly is a profoundly philosophical practice. It is compatible with atheism and naturalism and religious perspectives because it has nothing to do with belief. The Revolution, the one that is already in place right now, spreading in the roots and working its way up, that these messages are only a tiny part of, is a revolution of being against bad mental habits. Against parasitic doing. The weapon of this Revolution of Being is mindfulness meditation.

user, all of you, I urge you to learn and practice mindfulness meditation methods with full ferocity. Experience the transformation it will give you. Then spread the message, spread the revolution, let our transformations be testimony to the reality of it. Perhaps alter these posts to make them better with your own realizations. Liberate your being, liberate your minds, and then liberate the people!
