One of the things I was hype about KF2 was that the difficulty would scale based on the AI becoming more complex. Crawlers would go on walls and ceilings, and in general zeds would get smarter as the difficulty rose. Essentially, you could play on Suicidal at level 0 if you were good enough.

Except they made them just go super fucking fast instead. They would move super fast instead of being bullet sponges, because it made your weapons feel powerful even at higher difficulties.

Tripwire just has no fucking idea how to design a game. If you're doing a horde-based game, enemies need to be fragile but numerous. It's satisfying to mow down 15 enemies, it's not satisfying to empty 3 magazines into five of them.

Granted, we knew this ever since RO2, but KF2 is just a mountain of proof that they're practically Turtle Rock in terms of arrogance and incompetence.

Not to mention that they fucked up the gameplay entirely from the first game.

Playing devil's advocate, the game itself isn't that terrible. It's a stable game, which is more than can be said of most Early Access titles, and the gameplay is more or less the same as the first with the addition of gun butt melee attacks and sprinting.

Most of the legitimate complaints are tangential to the game (retarded skins, slow updates, monetization while in beta, idiotic developers taking lazy route rather than fixing issues). Doesn't excuse the game for being a more expensive clone of the first with barely any changes besides the engine and DLC layers, but the core game is still the same.

Lastly, the Patriach's head take normal damage but for fucking horseshit reasons, his jaws only takes 10 % damage. There is a lot more fuckery like Crawlers taking less damage from fire. You can't make this shit up.

in fairness, all those weapons were sidegrades besides the buzzsaw blade launcher.

Flare pistol was pretty weak, Tommy Gun was maybe half a step above the Bullpup and on par with the MP44, and the scythe was slightly slower and more powerful than the katana. Buzzblades were pretty OP compared to the Nail Gun, but Zerker was always OP anyway thanks to hitstunning.

Flare pistol is part of the firebug meta.

Doesn't mean it isn't still weak as shit against anything more than a group of 3 zeds.

The introduction of crates fucking broke me though, I have no way to get a refund so all I can do is watch as they fuck the game up further more and more with each update spaced MAYBE 3 months apart if you're lucky, the only changes they make to the game are shitty Zed defenses and adding community made gear you have to pay for and only OK maps which you can find better quality in the workshop.

The terrible balancing that they're doing is a result of the versus mode they added. For example, it's just not fair to a gorefast player to get killed in a single headshot by a pistol, so what do they do? They give the gorefast an assload of resistance to pistols so now instead of one headshot with a medic pistol, which is stronger than the starting pistol, it takes HALF THE FUCKING MAGAZINE OF HEADSHOTS TO KILL A GOREFAST.

Imagine Versus Mode in L4D, now imagine that you will have to play as a Clot for most of the game until you maybe get chosen to be a Husk or something not shit.

That means you can game each wave by selectively killing a few zeds to let the stronger ones spawn one at a time. Not that you have to anyway because the game is piss easy.

The new resistance system is really bad and downright broken at times, certain classes in particular got hit hard by it, for example every zed resists melee damage, so as a berserker you do 50% less damage to everything except fleshpounds, on top of this some zeds have knockback now, so have fun getting close, oddly enough the default class knife is not resisted by anything.

Sharpshooter is broken right now, its incredibly powerful.

Certain trash zeds are simply FAR to tanky, a bloat should not take 7 headshots, a crawler shouldn't take 3 AA-12 shotgun shots on HoE as a level 25 support.

Micro transactions are complete cancer and they where added before the game before the game was out of EA, this is

Tripwire actually isn't a very good example of stupid anti-consumer shit from game devs. They're too small to create a self-sustaining circlejerk but too big to get support from the indie clique.
