Whatever happened to "fun" racing games Holla Forums?

The better question is:
What happened to fun in video games?

Fair point

GTA IV is a worthy Carmageddon successor.

What happened?

Some people don't age well.

...

No it's not.

I want another sonic all-stars racing/mario kart-like game for PC so fucking bad

i miss burnout, that game was the shit

Last E3:
Criterion: We're working on some awesome shit, have some artwork and shit.

[current year]'s E3:
*crickets*

What the hell? I was expecting at least something in vein of that 'do everything' bideogame. Fucking EA man, never misses the chance to let me down.

whatever happened to racing games at all

Is the new Carmageddon any good or is it typical half assed kickstarter moneygrab shit?

It's a lot like the first one except with good graphics and physics.

Plenty of sims and simcades are still being made, hell there's even a motorsport manager coming out in september.

It's the arcade racer that's as dead as Bernie's chances. I miss Nagase.

"Whatever happened […] to games?"

Don't you just hate it when people talk about video games?

...

I heard it's buggy as hell though

The optimization was really terrible on launch, but they've released two patches to fix it so it's way better now. Might still run awfully though, but my 5770 can run it at a decent framerate on low.

There were issues at launch but few months later they fixed it. It was mostly interface glitches, nothing that affected gameplay.

Blur happened and any game that isn't a mario kart is now mandatory automotive porn games.

Was a horrible trainwreck at launch time. It's fine now.
