For the record though, he also did Thousand Year Door and most of the stuff he's worked on had a pretty high quality localization.

Then there was the joke in the Animal Crossing Happy Home game that bashed people that complain about localization. So stuff like this isn't unprecedented.

That said, I went and watched the video on youtube. The part is around the 20 minute mark if you want to see for yourself. Honestly, even if it is a reference to GG, I don't really see it as a shot at it. The context is that it's a shuffle game, one of them has a key and Mario has to pick the correct Toad. When he does pick the right one, it turns out he doesn't actually have it. You use one of your abilities and discover that they were cheating. The leader Toad then says the line in the picture and gives you the key in exchange for not ratting them out.

I don't really see why this would be a jab at GG. The name of the group isn't Shufflegate, nor are they talking about ethics. The Toad just says that the name of the scandal would be Shufflegate.
