As much as I love the guy, voting for him is just stupid. Vote Green to try to get em 5% or something or don't vote at all. Electoral politics is a joke. Seeing as how the Greens adopted an anti-capitalist position though, it might be beneficial to simply try to give them more attention just so people might stumble upon an alternative to current eternal shitlife.

In the US, you might as well. It's free and doesn't take long. You might even be able to talk to some people in line and educate them. You should still work to overturn bourgeois political economy.

Jill and Gary are on the ballot in my state. How I vote will depend on the lay of the political landscape come election day. I hate Johnson's guts, but I think if the libertarians replace the (currently imploding) republicans, that would be almost as good as Jill Stein actually becoming president (never gonna happen). Think about it. In a two-party system, political parties are mostly defined by their opposition to each other. It's like a yin-yang thing. The conflict between them is what gives them power. Libertarians basically stand for "super capitalism" or a borderline feudal society (they still want some government). Just like the republicans, the democrats are really unstable right now, the main fissure being between "progressives" and "blue dogs". If the libertarians replaced the republicans, the libertarian party would have the dominant position, since its followers really strongly believe in its platform, as opposed to democrats, who mostly cling to the party cynically out of pragmatism to keep republicans from winning. So if the libertarian party replaces the republican party, the democrats will either change to or be replaced by someone who is the yin to the libertarians' yang. The opposition that naturally arises from this system would be their polar opposite. Since the libertarians' positions and theory can be summed up as "capitalism is pretty good, government is the root of all evil, because reasons" their opposition would be "capitalism is evil, government is alright, and we have a few centuries of theory why."

I don't care if it's the greens, CPUSA, reformed democrats, whoever - I most want to see a major anti-capitalist party and the libertarians gaining power seems the fastest way to get there. But A lot can change between now and election day…

No and I'm baffled that some of these tards can't let him go already. He declined to lead the revolution he cared so much about; his role has ended. Put your energy towards something meaningful like getting the Greens to 5% instead of shilling for the guy who has been stumping for Clinton.

Stuck between harm reduction with Hillary or trying to get the greens past 5%. Either way, I don't think anyone interested in politics should consider voting their primary method of making change. Trying to change public opinion, helping unions, organizing direct action, etc is far more productive.

I know most of us are on the same boat but I think it's best not to think of politicians as representatives, just arms of the competing ruling class. The working class get to participate, but it's always within the boundaries of their competition for power.
