Because Nintendo really don't care for graphics which is both a good and bad thing. As much as I hate faggots who think a game is better for having better graphics not taking the time to give something visually impressive is lazy and off putting.

To be fair, something doesn't need to have Crysis-tier graphics to be visually impressive, having a great art style or art direction helps, like with Silent Hill 3 or Wind Waker for example, those games still look beautiful.

Which was what I was trying to get at, a game should strive to be appealing visually, not to be realistic or overly detail, just to make it nice to look at is enough graphics the game needs to entice the player.
