I can't wait to play as naked Link

Can you really not put this in one of the other threads about the game?

this is more about the game rather than the treehouse girls wanting to take links shirt off

How long after release are we going to see naked speedruns?

gonintendo.com/stories/259372-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-map-size-detailed-dire

Game map is 12 times twilight princess and what they showed is only 1% of the whole map

Cautiously optimistic. Meanwhile, I'll be playing through Zelda 1's first and second loop.

as soon as it comes out with naked lets plays

I don't give a fuck about let's plays. I want naked, tree branch only speedruns

remove

Anyone got any info on the mexican that stole a wiiu from E3 with the Zelda demo?

THE SONS OF BITCHES ACTUALLY DID IT

I'm hype

The only va in the game so far is that mysterious voice

then you'll get them

Why are people so bad at comparisons?

Apparently you start out like that.

So far

I'm still kinda waiting to see the game. The only thing I've seen is the same kind of sandbox gimmicks you see in all the other sandbox gimmick games. You walk around random places, collect random shit, kill random shit, but none of it has any meaning.

I'm very interested to see how it complements the main questline or whatever. I'm concerned that the "real" story and quests have devolved into mmo-tier "go complete this temple that's exactly like all the others" shit because the world and mechanics took all of their development time.

...

At least they didn't say Skyrim

They explicitly said we're not doing any major shit so as not to spoil the game

Yeah because in this game when you see the mountain you can actually fucking climb it! All the way to the top!

how about shadow of the colossus 2?

It looks like it might be okay but it doesn't really look like a zelda game at all

There are no colossi and the Guardian fights are closer in remblance to the random dragon fights scattered across Skyrim

I know, but that created a problem where the entire game looks like a pointless toy box that's more shallow than the kiddie's pool. All the enemies looked the same, all the small encampments looked the same, all the chests had worthless loot, all the temples looked the same, there were at least 3 mini bosses that were just the same thing copy pasted in a bunch of places.

Oh and the world is cluttered with random skyrim-tier mushrooms and similar trash.

well the rock guy was pretty big. And we havent seen any actually dungeon bosses yet.

Might be okay. I wish it didn't have voice acting, but if they can get good actors, I'll deal with it.

Honestly I feel like the game looks like best open world game I've seen. It doesn't touch what open world games could and should be like, but they're kind of pulling an old Blizzard.
They're going what the others are doing, but with much better quality.

Why would the size of map alone excite you?
What's in it and what you can do in it is what matters.

You wouldn't have fun in the original if you ran through tile map after tile map of nothing.

Considering how Ganon is the final boss again I'm calling it now that the fight against him will involve climbing up his body like the original planned boss fight for Ocarina of Time

too bad the game looks boring and empty as fuck

well they said they didn't go to towns or story areas because they didn't want to spoil anything.
Also id say it looks more comfy than empty. But maybe because i just like collecting things.

There were like 8 or 9 different types of enemies and this is the beginning part of the game (which they said was 2% of the entire map)

The shrines are not temples and they actually had interesting puzzles that weren't hand holdy

There's no voice acting aside from that mysterious voice! The sages didn't talk, the Old Man didn't talk

we all know who zelda is dude.

It might not be her– I hope not. I like Zelda games where Zelda doesn't play a major role. One of those is long overdue

did zelda do anything in link between worlds? and she wasn't in triforce heroes.
Any way its probably actually hylia or something.

skyrim didn't have mushrooms m8

you're thinking of morrowind or skywind

It's clearly Zelda, the main goal of the game is to get to Hyrule Castle that is being surrounded by """Calamity Ganon""" who is being sealed there to prevent him from destroying the world

….

combat has some awful slow motion that looks more like the framerate taking a huge shit.

Until they show that it has decent combat, and that Aonuma hasn't cancered the combat like he did on every other zelda game I can't be hype at all.
How I can be hyped for big monsters if they will end being "use dungeon item, hit three times" again?
At least being able to use more weapons that swords is cool, I guess, even if you will be pigeonholed into the master sword.

Federation force bro!

I had a dream last night where Nintendo had completely ruined the next Zelda, but now I'm watching it and it looks good, I'd say it's easily the best thing shown at this years E3.

The game does detail very well, in the webm shown the player starts a fire then uses the updraft created by the fire to gain height on the enemy, that's fucking detail, and not nebulous shine detail, that's mechanically relevant detail.

I don't know how Nintendo is doing it but they are actually succeeding where Kojima failed.

so for that 25th they took a giant dump on it. great.

elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Fungi_(Skyrim)

...

I'm just taking the piss mate. They havent revealed what retros working on, maybe a metroid prime for nx launch?

you must not have been paying attention if zelda looks remotely like the best game shown at e3.

it was a white guy, you fucking trump supporter faggot.

...

No thanks, I don't eat shit, enjoy your waifulicious sub par platformer though, also fuck off and post in your relevant thread, I'm not in your thread talking about Zelda.

sony is notorious for bullshitting their trailers just so you know.

I've wanted to get this game, but I don't have a Vita, is the remaster any good?

that looks gay as shit.

This, I'm sure it will be a great game, but I like that Nintendo actually shows genuine gameplay for the most part

Cant wait to play that leak.
Cant wait to play that entire game.

It seems like its going to be just as addicting is XCX, but not cucked so far.

now that i think about it has nintendo ever shown a purely cinematic cg trailer?

okay. I might be a little hype now.

yet again not only fuck off to your relevant thread, but go to film because you haven't seen any fucking gameplay.

Wind Waker was empty as fuck and Witcher 3 had lots of empty parts and SotC is a barren fucking wasteland and they were still fine games

Pretty much all of the Smash Bros are like that

wind waker had an island in each quadrant with stuff to do except for a few which were useless like the archipelego ones

This game looks absolutely terrible.
Finally I've come to decide that Nintendo fans are truly deluded.
I actually cannot understand how anyone thinks this looks good.
I guess this is the point I quit video games.

I'm sick of games trying to copy Skyrim but at least Jewtendo are trying to mix up the formula. Although they probably aren't since the game will still be about Link getting the Master Sword and going on a quest to defeat Ganon.

the remaster is the best version of gravity rush

not as gay as shirtless link

good on ya m8

you're hopeless.

I think I might actually be more excited for it than Persona 5 now after how badly Atlus handled things. Fucking hell, why is there nothing coming out this year? All we get is Pogeymon.

you don't like cute girls? What are you, gay?

They actually have gameplay interspersed, go ahead and watch the Melee trailer

It's kind of too early to call it but I think it looks great in those terms, Nintendo have specifically said that they aren't showing any towns and story which is great, and the environments are laden with animals to hunt, treasures to find, puzzles to solve, dungeons to delve bosses to fight, treacherous paths to travel and ruins to climb. I'm not sure what other people really want.

I guess it's true, autists really can't appreciate anything.

Open World games always end up being boring and empty.

Yeah it looks like a PS3 game. But to be fair the wiiU is weak.

You know it actually reminds me of Lightning returns.

So maybe the music and battles will save it.

People seem to forget that the original was also an open world game.

but if it were a dungeon crawler that puts you on a set path to the end you'd bitch too. wouldn't you.

It's more like Skyrim than Dragons Dogma.

Dude, what is wrong with your head? That looks great and all, but it's just more Gravity Rush. This is a Zelda that finally has a bunch of new shit, and it's open world, and you can literally climb that mountain, and fuck.

so the old man is ganon?

I have no idea why the presentation was so long yet showed nothing besides the basic open world aspect. I have no reason to be negative except the stupid inventory trash management and heal in menus and no over world music. Everything else looks great.

Just why was the showcase that long when it could have easily been condensed into 15 minutes?

if it was first person and you couldn't climb anything then maybe it would be like skyrim

depends how good the dungeons are. If they're Majora's Mask tier? Awesome, if they're wind waker level? Fuck no.

yeah and its going to empty.

what happened to persona? Arent there demon negotiations again?

and you make that claim based on what?
Was twilight princess a bland empty world?
No, it wasn't. There were secrets, enemies, items and events literally everywhere.

But user they'll have 100 SHRINES to visit! Even though they'll all use the same assets and look exactly the same just rearranged, like skyrim dungeons did

more gravity rush is inherently a good thing, gravity rush managed to do the open world thing without resorting to large plot of featureless terrain with a handful of points of interest. The gameplay for this Zelda looks to unfortunately be doing that.

I don't think anyone but wind waker fans likes large portions of game where you do nothing and nothing happens.

The last zelda you could actually jump was one of the best;

can i get a source on that

What's your problem with the world so far, you can't use empty say more than just empty.

It looks good, I like the sense of freedom and exploration, I did notice a lack of soundtrack wich it worries me, but I guess the dungeons will have it (hope so), my biggest fear is that it could get boring quickly.

I just wish they would release a downloadable demo for the Wii u store so I can test it for real.

it doesn't look like nothing is happening, it looks like the player was using the items they had to overcome the environmental obstacles.

Say with a straight face that you will ever go back to any PS4 game for the graphics. Go on, I'll wait.

compare to

They don't look comparable tbh

Am i on reddit

Those aren't the dungeons though

Maybe. Check your tabs.

We can already see it's full of wildlife. Trees, boars, deer, etc. We can already see there is a wide variety of locations, mountains, forests, plains, deserts, etc.

Everyone crying about how it's "empty" sounds like the kid who couldn't go more than 60 seconds without having his parent tell him what to do. Grow a fucking imagination why don't you.

I like Wind Waker and even I found the new Zelda boring. I ended up falling asleep during the stream.

I never said they were but they will be the majority of the things that make up the game, and they're about as shit as Skyrim dungeons were. I'm sure they'll have a few actual dungeons.

No overworld music could be a great thing, dark souls has no overworld music, only boss music.

It gives you a chance to appreciate the atmosphere more along with its ambiance.

Kys my dear user

Shut the fuck up and play more games user. It gave me waaaay more of a dragons dogma feel than skyrim.

Everyone has different tastes you literal autist, just because someone likes something you dont, it dosent mean their deluded you deluded fuck.

No one even cares that you quit videogames, why are you even here? Attention whoring baiting fuck. Here is your reply.

it must be nice to make things up and then pretend that that's how things are going to be no matter what. Makes life so much simpler.

what bothers me is that it looks more like an RPG with Zelda theme than a Zelda game

I suppose I should wait and see if the game is good or not but, so far, I'm a little worried that I'm looking at Xenoblade and not LoZ

I'm seeing a whole lot of running around to points of interest and easily neglected combat encounters. I'm not impressed yet. The least they can do is make navigating the world fun and fast.

Keep denying it faggot. The few shrines they showed us looked exactly the same I have no reason to believe that the other 95 they'll have will look any different. The game is padded out with boring copy paste content. Even running around they saw a few different ruin areas and they all looked the same, each of them even had the dumb broken down mech in all of them too. It's fucking Skyrim.

you should know i've pretty much started to disregard all your posts as just some contrarian faggot.

Nice rebuttal.

...

just telling it how it is. you come across as one and i'm sure i'm not the only person who thinks it.

thought you might like to know.

Is it just me, or does every video of this game look way too bright and overexposed? It looks like it could look good, but it's just so hard to look at. Screenshots like look good though.

MGSV also had a "vibrant" open world and all that ended up happening was two wolves sitting in the same spot on the map

Appreciation for nature is nice and all but did you forget this is a game you have to play? If I want to appreciate nature I can walk around outside.
Shit to do is what matters in a game faggot.

SOMEONE APPARENTLY TOOK THE SD CARD AND IS DUMPING THE DEMOS DATA

I like how no one can decide on what this game is more like. I think I've seen every recent popular fantasy game thrown out there.

Twilight Princess had secrets, but that doesn't make it not empty and bland.

Though I disagree with those who are claiming this game will be the same. It's pretty clear to me there will be plenty to do. Obviously the shrines will be copy-pasted. but that doesn't somehow mean theres no normal dungeons. Jumping to the conclusion that everything that was shown is all we're getting is retarded.

We saw one mini dungeon and the player had to solve puzzles, how is that a bad thing?

Skyrim dungeons are shit because the loots made up and the level design doesn't matter. that is not what these mini dungeons are, the loot can be important, and there are puzzles, these dungeons will probably contain the rad as fuck hard puzzles you find in optional dungeons in Zelda.

post your shit game in your shit thread.

They've already shown fun navigation, and they've barely shown off the staple as fuck gimmick items, chopping down trees to bridge gaps, sailing down the river with your deku leaf, creating ice pillars to cross a frigid waters, using the magnet thingy to adjust objects in the environment like making bridges, platforms or moving doors. gliding around on that glider thingy

What more do you want, I'm interested to hear.

>inb4 it's all 16GB of Cucco porn

I'm more interested in deciding if the game they're showing is any good. This doesn't seem to be anything special.

This game looks fucking sick and if you can't see it then honestly I think you've just forgotten what a good game is. This looks like theyre going back to Zelda 1 roots, I'm hyped as fuck.

Between this, Bannerlord and UNIELst, ilI have enough games for several years.

Oh hey, I'm the opposite. Wind Waker was a giant featureless ocean with fifty-ish forgettable quadrants.

All I wanted in zelda from OOT onwards was an overworld to explore. I sat out two more WW artstyled games before Twilight Princess finally came out.

...

They said that hours ago and still nothing. Doubt it's real.

Sure thing reddit.

JEEZ just use your imagination faggot!

As much as I loved some Zelda games, the formula became boring enough for me to completely fail to care about any recent release.

I was actually quite intrigued by what I saw of this game.

"Empty" as in barren, sparse-to-no content, nothing to do, no gameplay other than walking. How fucking stupid are you?

the funny thing is, baseless sensationalism and jumping to conclusions would mean you'd probably fit right in over there.

why don't you try it out and spare the rest of us your inane ramblings.

I like how you described it as your failure to care, when it's Nintendo's failure to entice.

you're forgetting gliding, horse back, and gravity gun, I mean block puzzles, I mean, gravity pulling block puzzles! So many options, each one less interesting than the last.

Except Zelda 1 had secrets on each grid and was actually full of things to find, this just has 2-3 crafting items and maybe a few enemies every couple of yards

archive.is/NfWEc

Hey, you never know.

if you wanted Zelda to be different, you should just have played a different franchise

this barely looks like Zelda

Considering you have no counter arguments besides "You're just a contrarian!" I think you'd fit in there better user.

The trailer looks very pleasant. The graphics are nice, if characteristically primitive; the cel shading more or less makes up for it, and it looks nicer than the cutting edge tends to. The brief snippets of gameplay were interesting, and describing it as Zelda mixed with Dragon's Dogma doesn't seem unapt. The voice acting is worrying, but it may or may not have been trailer exclusive. The relatively large number of weapons & armor displayed makes me wonder if the player will be buying or manufacturing them, which could be hit or miss. I liked that there was a spear available in particular, and the wildlife like the boar made me wonder if the various weapons would have enemy specific bonuses. I went for the Bloodbornebox for that and The Last Guardian, Nier, maybe the Godzilla game, and probably-vaporware Deep down, unfortunately, so I'll be sidelined for this, but maybe somewhere down the line. It's not like I need the PC upgrades, so may as well spring for a console and price-dropped exclusives. Good to see Nintendo isn't totally out of vigor just yet.

Yeah, just like how diving into that circle of lily pads didn't do anything.

Why would you want to walk outside when theres perfectly shit videogames to play user?

Modern day zelda games do get pretty bright. Im not really sure if its healthy or not though but my eyes get used to it though

I agree with some of your points user, its nice to have a little diversity in the shrines, but not too much. I beleive that the shrines are way too short in my opinion. I guess they are saving the harder challenges for further sections of the game and not having EVERYTHING at the plateau.

The most it would last me would be like 200-300 hours in about 2 or 3 months tbh.

I think I am more stoked than I've been for any Zelda game.

I really hope the demo gets leaked like the Skyward Sword E3 one did.

How can you possibly know that given what you've seen.
They explicitly said they altered the build to have zero spoiler elements.

Zelda 1 didn't have tons of empty grids for one.

Zelda = half year or so (depends on how much you play)
Bannerlord = I still play Warband multiplayer. This game will last forever
UNIELst = same as Bannerlord

eh, it's more like I got tired of retards sperging out at every game announcement.

so how about

When I talk about people with no imagination I talk about you. I bet you'd think the game looked better if it had waypoints all over the screen and a thousand objectives that tell you exactly what you should do next. You're a pleb and you don't even know it.

I agree on that, doesn't seem to have a lot of challenge, just hunting, moving around the world, killing some enemies (whose don't seem hard to eliminate) wich it's all right, but I hope the whole game it's not just doing that.

so… if you're arguing that a grid with enemies in it isn't "empty" than whats your issue with this one? There are enemies in the world.

windwaker was slow.
platforms were a repetitive distraction, no incentive to engage them or any enemies for that matter.
in fact, any encounter is best dodged by moving slightly to the left or right of them. they waste your time. swift sail improved the game, but now instead of 2/3rds of the game being boring sailing, it was 2/5ths.

This. And even better than that, I noticed a point where the treehouse members specifically avoided an enemy encounter because they would've gotten thrashed.

...

lol, oh I get it now.

you don't actually like to play games.

Yeah, I'm sure there's going to be 6 caves and areas actually worth giving shit that they removed only for E3, okay pal

This link is not lasting very long on this mountain, is he?

YOU CAN FUCKING SNOWBOARD ON YOUR SHIELD NIGGERS=

Fuck off Todd, your shitty team couldnt even program ladders into your shitty game, let alone actual CLIMBING.

I'd say it's both. I mean, I didn't even bother looking up any proper gameplay vids.

I never wanted anything from Zelda. I got my share of enjoyment from it and was quite fine with it just getting a new game of the same formula every few years for me to ignore.

I feel for those who wanted more of what they usually do, but if they take a new route that intrigues me, I'll be sure to check it out.

Alright, I admit, that looked cool as fuck.

I'm not sure how to feel about this.

You can combine its use with the glider, too.

...

...

Game looks great. I wish I didn't understand why people were hating on it, but sadly there are a great deal of people on Holla Forums who can't handle games that don't have endless amounts of graphs and numbers on the screen.

Excuse me, but Todd Howard is the Andrei Tarkovsky of video games.

I unironically enjoy pretty looking walking simulators with shallow objectives and simple dialogues like FO4 and Skyrim.

You see, this is the next evolution in gaming. IMO, some games should be less competition oriented. In it's early development, video game was a medium for translating logic and reflex engagement oriented activities into digital video format. Some people turn out to enjoy the experience of observing and discovering instead of engaging their reflexes and logic in the game their play. This is how games like Morrowind were born.

Just like the evolution of films. Back in the 20's great directors like Fritz Lang directed beautiful looking films that are focused on the exposition of the plot, but it turned out that the audience were more mesmerized by the grandeur audiovisual telling of the story. Then came Tarkovsky and his unique way of directing films with the logic of poetry where man and nature, instead of plot, are equally the star of the film even though they barely recognized each other. This technique of recreating life using the audiovisual medium stands at the highest ground of the evolutionary ladder of cinema.

People like Todd Howard are the Tarkovsky of video games. With his unique non autistic perspective, he sees video games as an experience rather than a puzzle. With trials and errors, he has tried to create an experience oriented video game rather than the traditional game oriented video games. His technique might still be in the experimental stage, but I hope someday he will find the perfect formula to articulate his visionary ideal, a combination of discovery and world manipulation.

I hope so. The game still might be good, but I was bored to sleep when I watching what they showed. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but what I saw so far is not that promising. Hell even if every area in the game had different unique shrine designs it's be a massive step up.That's my hope anyway I'll be keeping my eye on the game.

Well yeah every game does the only problem is when they reuse it too much. That was the big problem with Skyrim, most of the dungeons were just reused assets. I think there were extremly few dungeons that weren't. That's my fear of the shrines for the new Zelda. What they showed looked like it was going to follow a similar suit of them being copy paste. Like I said in the post above I hope i'm wrong and they do have different shrine designs for every area.

Yeah I'll agree with that somewhat. I don't think it was "innovative" but the items did look fun and was probably the best thing I saw from what I watched. I just hope they don't feel to repetitive which could happen if they stretch out the game too much.

so you don't rally care what the game's about as long as it has "Zelda" plastered all over the cover?

well, I'm glad it looks interesting for you

Please let this meme end.

from what i've come to realize, there are a great amount of sperglords here that don't actually play or enjoy games but claim they do and that they are the authority on games.

the same fucks that cheer for casualization and easy modes instead of trying to enjoy an experience, and think they're not cancer when they shit on every single thing that gets announced.

whops messed up the second part somehow

but is the combat any good? It looks like the same over-telegraphed shit they've been pedaling since wind waker. Easy, non-intimidating, forgettable encounters.

I love games, just not bad ones.

The problem with FO4 is not that it's a "walking simulator" the problem is that they took out all roleplaying features and gave your character a set voice and backstory.

FO4 is the worst game of 2015. It also is the worst game that Bethesda ever produced. The only good part is the gunplay, that's it.

you thought zelda 1 was good, and literally all you did was press one button.
I think you lose credibility complaining about this one.

Its not just this. The demo doesn't show off the story or villages/npcs.

I've never said anything about zelda 1, talk about losing credibility.

They removed Rupees from the demo too just so they could reveal them later, right? You're retarded

why were you replying to a post made about someone elses comment fuckwit.

Oh, you're just being retarded on purpose. Okay.

please try and keep track of IDs, it's not hard. I understand this is your first time posting here, and you need to defend a game you've never played, but it's very simple. Click on the ID and it highlights every post by that person.

What the fuck are you even talking about?

Point them out in the demo then, faggot

There's a rupee symbol in the inventory, it just looks like rupees have been removed from random drops from destructibles

You probably have to sell the garbage you get around the world to get the rupees in this one.

I'm sorry you cannot handle my genius, maybe you should learn something about film.

Let me explain why FO4 is the Stalker of modern gaming.

The way the game helps mold the players experiences through the inductive memory the player sensationalizes. It uses a cohesive narrative to pull the player in and deliver them an emotional spiritual journey that few games can match.

It moves past the input/logical axis most games draw their design paradigm from, and proceeds directly to a cinematographic prepositional. In this way, the player doesn't play the game at all, they have a revelation of it. The player is no longer a player, but someone who knows the game as a whole without any particular detail. So they truly experience the game.

It even covers themes that don't make sense in the competitive mechanics of a simple game. Since the narrative is only known internally.

It calls to mind Todd Howard's genius in the design. A forerunner to upcoming master works.

I… was actually going for the exact opposite of that impression.

It's clearly more about the game than the name, no?

You're seriously bitching that they didn't showcase a currency system in the trailer?!?

You're are an autist of the highest order.

They took rupees out of grass because money doesn't grow in grass, you fuckwit.
Also they likely have much less value in this game, considering the whole kingdom is in ruins. Who the fuck are you buying shit from?

What?
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how you can get confused like that.
One tilemap in Zelda 1 is one small part of the world. Why would you compare the entirety of a game to one tile area in zelda 1?

oh fuck off, you've replied in a thread of comments before without checking who it was responding. Stop being a self righteous faggot.

then i'll respond to you.
as an example, windwaker.

the platforms were not all the same, each had a unique twist and required different items to solve, similarly each area had treasures to find, secrets you could come back to and enemies (such as giant squid or special tank boats) hidden within. As well, sailing usually puts up opportunity for minigames, such as collecting rupees by jumping through hoops and whatnot.
That seems like fun to me.
YOU on the other hand claim this is empty, boring and useless. Then you say that a casualization of the game (removing the need to alter the winds and speeding through all sailing parts, in other words easy mode) is a GOOD thing and that is complements gameplay, instead of ruining intended enjoyable exploration and feeling of a large world.

in other words, your'e a fag with shit taste, and I hate you.

They said there will be towns and item descriptions mention selling them.

...

SS was fucking great but it also was a weird period. They rushed it to shit and they had HUGE handholding problems with the games.

It was supposed to be the first open world zelda if we don't count WW. BotW seems to be SS mixed with ALBW with a bit of skyrim thrown in.

It's all part of them turning Zelda from what it was into yet another open world RPG

Why start with removing hearts and rupees from grass now?
Clearly there's NPCs that will sell you things, but why remove them from the fucking demo? Unless they're out entirely and you just do nothing but trade all the useless shit you find like mushrooms and apples

Right? They kept repeating that too

now you're just intentionally being ridiculous.
there are enemies, encounters and secrets through the map. there aren't any areas that are huge empty and bland. That seems similar to the grid system in zelda one?

What it seems you're saying here is that the entire world is bland and empty and there is literally nothing to do except for some wolves in one corner of the ENTIRE MAP.
that's just fucking dumb.

fuckin' dropped

Why not now?
And how do you know they removed anything? There's no signs of any sort of villages or anything on the plateau surrounding the temple of time. It all looks like it's been untouched for fucking centuries except for the old man.

I get what you're saying user but Todd Howard in my opinion barely even knows what hes doing anymore. I agree with you about the fact that games are based on experiences which i had plenty of, and i can say for sure, the new Legend of Zelda will most certainly deliver, maybe even to a higher standard than any Bethesda game ever made. A game is made of gameplay which derives from its story, mechanics, settings and more which makes the experience all the more interactive which Breath of the Wind excels in all currently. The mysterious and ancient tone with minimalistic story is very unique and wonderful in its own ways user, if you don't understand that then i implore you to open your mind more. What makes a video game special for me is its mechanics and details in those mechanics, such as if and enemy attacks your wooden shield with a burning weapon or a torch, it will burn away. You have to wear sweaters or have food buffs in cold environments otherwise you will freeze to death. There are various ways of getting to areas such as climbing, strategically chopping down trees, gliding, or horseback riding where the combat is much better than skyrims. All of these mechanics shown in the new Zelda vastly outperform any shown by that loser Todd any day, and you need to understand, just because its simple, doesn't mean that its great.

CHECKMATE, TODD

At this point I'm convinced you don't even play games.

FUCK, meant for

M8 they literally said they removed towns and NPCs from the E3 demo aside from the old man so as to avoid spoilers.

I missed the stream apparently didn't miss anything other than this
couple of things
inb4 troy baker as ganondorf
wonder if thats a dig at skyrim
subliminally trying tot take out money

You make a good point. But here is something you might have missed: Stalker is Tarkovsky at his prime. He knew his strength and already figured out all the faults he made in Ivan's Childhood and Solaris. Among all Tarkovsky's kinos, maybe excluding Zerkalo, Stalker has the most flawless pacing and visuals. It might exceed Stalker at a few places, but while Zerkalo was meant to be watched by people who grew up in cold war era Soviet, people who can relate their life experience to the film, there is a more universal aspect of Stalker that makes it understandable by those who don't even understand Russian culture. Stalker is very articulate in presenting it's theme of apocalypse, faith, hope, and freedom, while Zerkalo is one of Tarkovsky's more personal works based on his childhood.

Unlike Tarkovsky, Todd hasn't truly learned all the strengths and weaknesses of Morrowind. The immersion of FO4 and Skyrim is simply unable to match Morrowind. Morrowind with it's alien world, colorful ecosystem, and various cultures, is still not yet fully understood by Toddovsky. Therefore, Todd is still at the experimental stage, not contemporary.

Zelda was never an rpg. It was an action-adventure game.

In the stream they show that the only voice acting is the voice at the beginning. No one else talks.

Fair enough, I couldn't be assed to watch like six fucking hours of tutorial. I'll catch the highlights either way.

But regardless, Link probably gets money by selling the shit he finds while adventuring.

a thread of comments? This isn't reddit. You can reply to posts anywhere at any time. It was empty. You fought a few moblins or whatever the stick wielding enemies from the forsaken fortress were called, and got a small reward of a few rupees or a trinket. There were a few that hid a piece of heart, but these were few and far between, considering the max of 20 hearts in any Zelda, they had to be intelligently placed.

I had put Steel Battalion in that picture just for you, just to show one game that is far better than everything else on the Wii U. Shame you didn't recognize it! Oh well, I don't expect much from someone so fanatical.

The thing is, lots of anons here are actually stupid, as in real fucking stupid. They're the ones saying things like "it looks empty and boring" even though everyone knows what they showed us is a demo made just for E3 so to not spoil anything. Then there is the autistic crowd (ie "the zelda i played when i was 12 is the best this looks like shit!" or "this isn't like zelda!!!" every time a new zelda is shown) and the obvious shills.

You don't know what rpg means.

FTFY

oh for fuck sakes, you are god damn cancer.
this is pointless.

"not spoiling anything" isn't an excuse for boring as fuck content.

...

That picture on the left looks terrible. Looks like a visual version of the loudness war in music. Completely ruining all details in order to make the newer products more stimulating and noticeable.

Kaepora Gaebora didn't have a VA, neither did the mumified monk, I think it's just for some parts, hopefully just voice over in cutscenes to keep their pacing. and hopefully cutscenes are kept to a minimum.

apparently that's the primiary source of income, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this.

I wish I could actually play this.
But I can't justify buying a dead console for one game.
If the wiiu had a future? Maybe.
If it had a few more games I could buy? Maybe.
Hell, if it wasn't made by a company that loves sucking sjw cock more then micrshit loves releasing terrible consoles i could at the very least justify it as saying "future games"

But no. Months burned me one to many times, and if I want them to quit being shit, I need to quit buying their garbage, even if it means missing out on a gem.

I agree, how much can they really spoil from this area of the game that they are showing? it's apparently less than 5% of the whole game.

TLoZ is still a lot better than a lot of shitty titles that has complexity tied to it like Skyrim and Bioshock.

Loudness war is still worse because you throw away parts of the audio in a way that can't be recovered.
Would be like having this thick fog that permanently hides background itens.

Eat shit and go back to halfchan

I keep hearing 1%

From the few times they popped up the map, the game is fucking enormous.

I mean I guess someone could actually figure it out but that area that was probably the same size as the area directly surrounding Whiterun if not Whiterun's entire hold, so yeah it looks big.

I'm not sure how what I'm saying is somehow escaping you or seeming like that to you.

I'll make this clear.
Nothing of what I said claims that the entire game is a huge empty space of nothing. You're pulling that out of no where.
I'm saying there are indeed empty and plain spaces in the game and/or don't have anything engaging in there, out of what they showed.

I said in one way it doesn't compare to Zelda 1 is that you aren't going to run into empty tilemaps that offer nothing. In the new Zelda you will indeed go for stretches without anything of interest or encounters comparatively dull.
Engagement in Zelda 1 is continuous.
Doing the same in an open world game 3d game like this Zelda takes different and harder design (that no game has come close to nailing), obviously, but I'm saying it's not nearly continuous.

Stop putting words in my mouth.

same hype for Bannerlord and Zelda

whats UNIELst

I don't understand the Death Stranding hype, It was a cinematic teaser, not even a trailer with literally no gameplay whatsoever, we don't even know the genre. Quit being a Kojima fanboy and it looks a lot different.

I dunno, if you look at some of the footage of people popping open the map to set points, it doesn't look like it takes them long to travel from the center of the region to the end of it.

when you're aware of what Kojima has done, it's much more interesting.

Kojima said it was an action/shooter game similar to Uncharted

I'm excited because it's a game he wants to make, instead of a game he's being forced to make.

butthurt

That's not a good thing.

I didn't put words in your mouth, I read what you wrote and that is what I interpreted it as.
calm the fuck down autismo.

Brother, UNIEL is the greatest fighting game ever made. It may look weeb as fuck but it has the best and most interesting mechanics I've ever seen. Its also a decently accessible fighter: just spend a while in training labbing your shit and you'll notice immediate results.

st is the latest arcade version, which is supposed to come to consoles sometime this year. UNIEL is being ported to Steam within the next couple months too.

It's a sick ass game.

Role-playing game. The video game genre of the name stems from pen and paper games like D&D, where people "played" characters in a story made up by the group playing. Rather than player skill, it was the characters' abilities, which were determined via statistics, abstract mechanics, and dice rolls of chance. Most video games of the genre take the stat part of that, as it's the simplest, mechanically, to implement into a computer program. Zelda has no mechanics that originate from and defined tabletop role-playing games. Link's abilities and success at his actions in the game aren't primarily determined by abstract statistics assigned to him. The player's skill is the most important factor in the game.

So, unless you define anything where you play a character as an "rpg" based on a literal interpretation of the name, which is a useless genre definition, Zelda is not an rpg.

Have you actually played Dragon's Dogma?

They didn't even travel to the long-distance points they set though.

It's pretty hard to interpret what I said like that without injecting details
Are you just trying to make me mad or something? That post doesn't exactly give off irritation or bite your head off.

well we're pretty sure it's not a stealth game. if metal gear had no stealth then it'd pretty much be uncharted, too.

I don't even own a PS3/4 nor do I intend on buying from M$, it's just that every major release for the Wii U for the past few years has been a letdown (with Splatoon, Smash 4, and Mario Maker being the exceptions) I'm more concerned about seeing potential signs that the game won't be good than being blinded by hype

Bethesda and Capcom on suicide watch

You're talking about ripping out it's core though, if Fire emblem didn't have tactical turn based combat it would be a VN.

...

that's a much better version of your post, yes
sorry, I'm just worried about the game, don't pay attention to me and my autism

you can pirate the games on the U now, no worries

But DS isn't Metal Gear, so it wouldn't make sense to say that the game was "ripped" of it's stealth. There will probably be some exploration in there to keep things going as well.

How the fuck can you be excited for a game with no gameplay, but a short cinematic?

Fucking fanboys i tell ya what.

I am a fan of kojima but that kind of thinking is cancer, especially if it ends up being bad.
Watch the game be complete shit
I want to see you nerds cry
I may cry a little too

I know it's not Metal Gear but Metal Gear was unique and interesting because of it's stealth gameplay, Kojima's touch was just polish that pushed it just that little bit further, I don't care for generic tps games with a cool story and I'm surprised that anyone else does.

Maybe Kojima will do a good job but I doubt it considering the absolute fuck up that was MGSV. at least the core gameplay was the tightest of any metal gear game though, too bad the level design was a joke.

...

> It doesn't touch what open world games could and should be like
What do you mean? What do you think open world games can and should be like?

Sasuga Sony

Zelda trailers have been pretty honest in regards to the game content.

well shit it's zelda they can't fuck up too badly, right?
putting on potential pirate list

Also, because of the NX, is it even worth it to buy a Wii U anymore?

It's not even worth it to buy an NX yet, we have no information about it beyond there being a Zelda game for it

I feel like splitting it between two systems is going to make it sell like shit

Looking forward to the first good Scrolls game of the decade.

How did twilight princess sell?

One of the top-selling Zeldas, but that was because pretty much everyone had a Wii and wanted it because it was 'dark' in comparison to WW. The Wii U doesn't have anywhere near those numbers though, and unless the NX comes with a free sex machine I doubt it will hit Wii numbers as well

Very well.

But I think that was also because they delayed the game-cube version to come out after the fact.

On the other hand though, not many people even own a Wii-U. And if the new Zelda game has a technical improvements on NX. It won't take much to figure out which one will sell more.

10 mil+

I didn't see anything.

I was wrong 8mil+

No, Dark Souls not having music is shit. The atmospheric noise is not vertu good and the sheer lack of music gets real old real fast.

I'm very split on how this game looks.

On one hand, it's fantastic they are actually returning to an actually-open overworld, especially after that crap they pulled with Skyward Sword's 3 areas. I'm glad they are finally testing out a Zelda where Link can jump, and one where most items seem to have physics (instead of just one or two). That alone dramatically changes the sort of puzzles this can have from the previous games. Also, it seems you can pick up much more of the items in the overworld.

However, it seems like some of the stuff they added would be tedious. For example, if there is actually a hunger system, I doubt that will actually be enjoyable. Most of the terrain from the gameplay videos is shaped like something from Skyrim, rather than something from Zelda. i.e. less geometric patterns and more rocky hills and slopes, and so traveling can get boring. Though, that can just be from the fact the game is not finished.

I'm really hoping that the combat is not extremely easy like Twilight Princess. I think that's something that can make or break the game, because without any tension while traveling around, I can't see this being exciting.

Theres no hunger system and theres a lot of cliffs and stuff because you can climb them and then glide off of the top.

UNIEL is a fantastic fighting game. I'm glad the devs got enough money and support to keep updating the series. What I love is that the game doesn't throw you a tutorial with voice overs and load times and all that shit, but it's easy enough to learn just by playing the game and learning what works. And it's got a lot of depth beyond just combo memorization, the GRD system is one of the most fun systems I've toyed with in any genre in a long, long time.

I'll admit that its presentation is hard to get past, but if you can stomach parodies of anime tropes, you'll find a real gem of a game.

Is [st] coming to PS4 as well? I might get one if news of AC7 is good, and I'll probably take the opportunity to pick up KoFXIV as well.

Don't say that user. Please. ;_;

Wow, the graphics look really bland and the overworld looks really devoid of anything. I hope they'd put more shit along the way. Morrowind's open world worked because of the strong contrast of the texture, and maybe because the world isn't all that huge actually, but filled with interesting landmarks and such.

Even Beth learned from Skyrim's fault of having a bland lifeless vast open world by making Fallout 4's world more compact and packed with explorable locations, therefore making traveling not tedious.

...

We've seen almost none of the actual environments or dungeons and the area being demoed was the tutorial level and it show a lot of obstacles with multiple ways to cross them. There is no hunger system hearts don't drop anymore, you eat to restore hp, the combat has been improved, positioning is now more important and controlling link is more fluid, there is now a parry that when activated lets you go into a flurry, you can jump in combat, at one point they jumped over an enemy and slapped their ass, there are different weapons that play differently.

You mean like very single zelda game including the 2D ones?

I think someone said that the game has a light and heavy attack. Yo ualso have a shittons of weapons at your disposal.

wow, what a shitty game

So this will be released in march?

Well no game had particularly hard combat, but even so Twilight Princess's was still the easiest by far. Ganon takes out half a heat when he hits you, for example.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense.

I'm kind of hoping that the systems let you do some real fun stuff. I imagine being able to time stop an enemy, charge up the spear's multi-stabbing attack that eats your entire bar of stamina, going to the potions menu, use a full stamina potion, and charge up the stab attack again for stupid amounts of damage in the frozen time.

I can't believe they gave Link ZA WARUDO. I'm gonna have so much fun with that shit.

Maybe if you're playing on easy mode.

Hero Mode+Ganondorf amiibo he takes off four whole hearts. If BOTW has at LEAST hero mode then it'll be fine.

I did some maths for the new Zelda's apparently map size. If it's supposedly over 12 times the size of TP's map, then if my math is right, it will be over 114,660 km^2 beeg, or about 71246.4 mi^2 in size.

To put such into perspective, that's about approx. 76% of the size of Bongland entirely. That's how massive the new Zelda gaem will apparently be, lads.

I've seen some of the combat gameplay and it seems very similar to the past games, just avoid the attack and attack the enemy, but now you can throw rocks and other objects to the enemies.

Where did you get the size of TP?

Thanks.

Everybody is talking about a hunger system but all I saw was Link cooking to recover hearts. I really hope you don't have to cut down grass to get hearts and rupees.

As for the combat difficulty, the problem is that Nintendo want little kids to be able to beat this game on their first run, so there's only so much they do in terms of proper challenge. Look at Link Between Worlds, for example. I never saw the game over screen on my first run. But on my second run I choose the Hero difficulty and I died enough times so that I had to choose carefully what items to rent.

I wish you could play at the real difficulty from the beginning, as in old times.

Aside from what little actual gameplay they showed, it seemed intentionally devoid of content. Not having experienced anything other than the non-linear version of the usual handholdy intro, I will definitely pirate it. Especially if things like fire, arrows, shields, and/or bombs have more interesting interactions that I need to try if the guy dumping the game wasn't fucking lying.

where are all those webms people made? all the ones in the E3 thread got eaten up by the cyclical mode of the thread

It's believable if Monolithsoft is helping. they're nitnendo's resident "BIG OPEN AREAS!" people.

They're the guys who helped make SS as big as it was.

...

They said there's traditional dungeons as well, think they just didn't want to spoil anything

...

I'm pretty certain you don't. The shit you gather in the overworld is cooked to make food, and many enemy drops mention them being sold in their description.

Damn, my meme arrows were fucked up.

So how would the final game be? Are they going to add more enemies and dungeons? Because currently the game looks too big and tedious for real exploration.

Ther eis no hunger system

The cooking is to replace hearts and potion bottles since Hearts don't show up when you cut grass anymore so you need an easy way to get health, especially wondering around an open world and you're likely to get your shit fucked.

Cutting grass now yields insects instead of hearts for I don't know what.

Look it looks like it'll be the best game Nintendo has released for a while band is the only game of Interest that came out of E3 Well there was poogyman Trump

You can't just do 12x the length and 12x the width. There isn't a chance TP's map is 6% the size of bongland, as tiny as that shithole is.

There are many things in Skyrim that are trash, that is not one.

The overworld is confirmed to have warp points, and they mentioned that towns and NPCs aside from the Old Man were removed from the E3 demo to prevent spoilers.
Also none of the dungeons they showed are the actual capital D Dungeons necessary to beat the game, as far as I know.

So was it ever explained why Link is right handed in this game? Was curious when I was watching the new trailer.

Because of pandering, probably. Taking away what little representation lefties have. I'm about half serious and half joking, but it is disappointing to see an established character switch to the common handedness because reasons.

They switched it in wii TP because they though it would be awkward seeing link slash with his left hand if you were a righty. Same with SS.

Link is left handed, and when he is right handed it's the port. This is why you can tell which console TP was originally designed for.

If he is not a lefty on the WiiU, it means it's being ported to the WiiU.

No, I know, but it's still essentially a middle finger to any lefty buying a Wii Zelda. I can't think of any justification for leaving it in a non-motion controlled version like WiiU.

we don't have a wiimote this time, though
why did we get a right handed Link? my autism can't take big changes like this

This Link is so cute holy hell

At least his arms aren't blue

I thinks its just consistency or maybe the game will get motion controls at some point in the future.

That seems painfully small.

I've seen a lot of people saying that, why is it so important for many if Link is left handed?

Ignoring autism, it's because lefties are rare as fuck in vidya, and I like having my character's handedness match my own; feels more natural.

What about the graphics environment? Are they going to fix the bland and boring looking whitewashed graphics and give it a sharper texture? Tbh, it looks more boring than even piss filter.

And warp points are necessary but they would never fix a shitty and bland exploration. The world design is what worries me, currently it looks more boring than far cry 4.

It's like 4x the size of Skyrim.

blue? sorry for being retarded but I don't get it

Link has ALWAYS ben left handed, why would thy change that now? I understand they did it for the wiimote and more right handed people and what not but I like consistency in my Zelda, thank you very much

S-so when's the porn getting made?

Porn of what, the Guardian? The Old Man?

I undersand that, but it seems a very insignifiant change, just like Link not having the hat, it's pretty irrelevant.

holy shit I just now realized Link doesn't have the hat
what the fuck is wrong with me

About as significant as Link being male. Only slightly more significant than the hat, which I assume he'll at least acquire later on.

soon, hopefully

I can get the hat at some point in the game, I'll have to play with a left handed Link for the entirety of the game and everytime I replay it

Turns out this got published today:
archive.is/ix43d

Sounds like something EA would force Bioware to say to save face.

Still doesn't seem to affect the character of Link, him being left handed just seemed like a cool little detail but not that important in general.

I wouldn't mind changing his genre either, He already looks pretty androgynous in most games.

>>>/ovens/

Sounds like you're just pissed off for some inane reason over something so minor.

sounds kinda more like a Dark Souls thing

what saving face?

THE FUCKING BUTTONS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ON THE RIGHT SIDE YOU ASSHOLE

yeah, let's make him a potato, it's the same shit anyway
in fact, lets make everyone a potato, it'll be the legend of potato and Potanondorf will use his peeler and his potato masher against Potatink and Potelda

top kuk, it's smaller than a game from 20 years ago

I think you're reading too much into it, yo. I don't 'care' but it's about as annoying as, well, changing Link's gender without good reason. And "where the buttons are" isn't a very believable reason, since that's where the buttons have always been.

It sounds like a bad attempt to deflect potential criticism rather than a serious concern about game balance. They very well could be serious, but it sounds forced.

yes, but every game is smaller than Daggerfall with the exception of Arena (and that technically didn't have open world but instanced countrysides)

That could be cool:

The irony.

...

Every game is smaller than Daggerfall because Daggerfall is an enormous randomly generated wasteland.

would he turn into a bomb?

I'm right handed, retard
I just don't see why they have to change this shit for no good fucking reason, much less if it's so "insignificant"

It sounds more like what he said was what happened, it's such a miniscule detail and they've made bigger changes that they've just said "who cares".

Hopefully you're correct, and I'm just too jumpy from seeing devs bullshitting to cover publisher interference.

Depending on the size of the enemy, if he gets back to his normal size while being in their stomach they would explode.

For the lorefags: the big deal around Koroks in WW was that once every year some of them would leave the Forest Haven to plant seeds that might grow into trees and thus reconnect the islands of the Great Sea (there was even a side mission where you had to bring them fresh water from Forest Haven to keep the seeds from spoiling). Since the only reason Hyrule was flooded before WW was because of the absence of a hero when Ganondorf threatened the land (because OoT Zelda fucked up with her timeline splitting), their inclusion in Breath Of The Wild implies the game takes place in the Adult Timeline after Wind Waker. This Hyrule may be the same Hyrule from Spirit Tracks (the one Link and Tetra ended up in some time after PH), or, more likely, a new, third Hyrule literally grown over the first one from the islands of WW's Great Sea and centuries of Koroks planting trees to increase the land.

But Birth of the Wild seems to be about defeating Ganon again and in WW he's under the sea.

The wolf amiibo thing looks rad.

Too bad it requires the goddamn amiibo AND the TP remake.

I suppose that makes sense

you're joking, right? please, tell me you're joking

On top of that I should add that there is a Temple of Time, and we see that the master sword is in the Sacred Grove which is where it is in the child and downfall timelines.

WWfags should deal with the fact that WW is very conclusive and having a sequel taking place in old hyrule would soil that.

I fell hook, line, and sinker. I am more than willing to buy those components for a comfy wolf buddy.

Some comments on a YT video suggests that the remake is only necessary for having a lot of health.

Good thing there isn't a sea then

I still have to get that ugly as sin amibo, sucking hell

doesn't it have one, though? I remember the map having something like a beach and a sea/ocean when they showed it a year ago

Looks like it's time I looked into amiibo spoofing.

It's pretty easy. Most modern phones have NFC reader/writers

the problem is that none of them are specifically designed to function with the WiiU. More interest in spoofing would mean more apps at least.

I've played most of the zelda games and I have never come across a dungeon I found to be hard. What dungeons are you speaking of?

If someone could
It'd be gravy. Unfortunately I don't know exactly what app you'd need to read an arbitrary NFC tag.

There are plenty of apps that can READ amiibos. However it's hard to find apps that actually take that info and display it in a way the nintendo's NFC can read. It shouldn't be hard since there doesn't seem to be anything besides basic NFC shit to do with Amiibos which means easy pirating, however there is little to no interest in actually developing an app that will function as needed.

...

I think what he meant was that the optional dungeons are almost always the hardest in every Zelda game, not that they are particularly hard, as in "omg this dungeon is impossible to beat!"

Welll, RIP.
I really don't want to drop $50 on one of those Amiiqos either.

You people are seriously bitching about which hand Link uses to swing his sword?

...

The new design in general just looks bad

The new design in general just looks bad

wrong fucking image

That makes it sound that what he did was a fluke. Also keep in mind it's Todd and his team. For all we know the ones who came up with the concepts could have been many other people that don't work there anymore.

Now remember The Phantom Pain.
The content we lost so we could have a huge map.

Well remember, depending on where this falls, Hylia IS Zelda. I suppose it could be just Hylia the goddess, some sort of non-physical, disembodied voice.

Wait, is that the actual size of the total map?

That seems way too big.

I'm trying to find some footage of when they go to the big map to get a grasp of how big the size of the little segment is. But judging by the small-ish lake near the temple of time, that little piece is pretty well-sized.

Holy fuck I hope this map is huge.

And according to Waifu thief, there are towns, and other NPCs in the game just not in the demo for spoiler reasons, or maybe they just weren't ready.

If this game lets me use the Big Two-handed swords I'm so fucking in.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD CAN BE BEATEN WITHOUT FINISHING THE STORY!

archive.is/rokRw

mynintendonews.com/2016/06/15/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-can-be-beaten-without-finishing-the-story/

So its literally Dark souls + Dragon's Dogma in Zelda skin?

Actually…

BotW's world will actually be bigger, if all the math checks out. So yeah.

Relative newfag here, was the size of Daggerfall really that big? The earliest I've ever played is Morrowind.

I can see the shirtless, tree-branch only, speedruns this will no doubt generate…still sounds pretty cash.

Daggerfall is so big it takes like a week or two straight in real time to go straight from one side of the map to the other. The drawback is that there's nothing but generic wilderness between the important locations, which is why the game has fast travel that you're very encouraged to use.

And yet nintendofags will still buy it.

Shit taste you waifufag.

Nothing worse than a nintendo loyalist who will suck their cock regardless of how flawed they are.
